Disappointing

The property was purportedly ready to be rented, but when I arrived it felt like someone was already living there. There were shoes, clothing and personal items in the bedroom and leftover food in the refrigerator. In addition, although the house was advertised as dog friendly, care had not been taken to render is so; there was a gap at the bottom of the backyard fence of six to eight inches in places, rendering it insecure except to very large breeds. The advertised (and confirmed via email) internet connection was not in place, although I'd indicated that was an essential factor. I had to wait out the week and then host an installer from the cable company for an entire morning, allowing him to use my computer, etc.
There was no lighting whatsoever in the living room and the property was not conducive to nighttime reading throughout.
All of the trash cans were filled to the brim, the advertised three car garage was completely occupied by the owner's belongings, including a large boat; the guest bedroom did not have sheets beneath the bedspread, many windows did not have screens, the front door key was difficult to both retrieve and replace, but the worst of it was that when I requested my substantial security deposit back the owner ignored repeated messages, refused to send the money, then started adding various deductions for inappropriate and inapplicable fees. I would not recommend this site.
