They fell in love with this adorable vintage 1950’s log cabin in the middle of everything they enjoy of the Rockies. The family of ten absolutely loves this cozy, romantic, and spacious cabin and, because of that, believes that everyone will. They are thrilled to share the mountain experience with others, hoping that all will enjoy laughter and love there and build indelible joyful lifelong memories.

Rough road to beautiful cabin
This was our annual ladies trip to Colorado. We try to stay in different cabins every year. This cabin is beautiful and remote. Pictures are exactly what you will find. Kitchen was excellent. I am a cook and found it to be stocked with everything needed to make meals. We used the crockpot for a roast. We were able to spread out throughout the cabin. It has plenty of room. Fed the birds off the deck. Did not start a fire in the fireplace but there are supplies to do so. Internet was strong enough for all of us to connect and use WiFi. One of our friends had to take a work meeting and could accomplish her tasks. Overall, we loved staying here. The negatives: the road to reach this cabin is terrible. It’s not maintained very well. It has eroded, washed out, full of holes and ruts. We rented a minivan and the ruts are so deep we bottomed out. Day before we were due to drive down the mountain to DIA it snowed 13 inches. Luckily we saw the weather forecast and exchanged the van for a full size 4x4 truck or we may not have made it out. Finally, the property contact did not respond to my questions. I reached out more than once. No reply.

Bugs…bugs everywhere
While checking in was easy, finding the the cabin was difficult. Even with the driving instructions, we got lost multiple times since some of the roads aren’t marked well or have the same names. We even had a hard time driving up the driveway in our car from it being so step and having rain erosion. Once we finally got inside we noticed in two of the rooms there were dead bugs all over the floor and an ant problem in the other. Not to mention in the master we opened the curtains just to find about 50+ flies just hanging out on the curtains and on the window. It was impossible to sleep in the room (we also had our baby with us). Colorado was beautiful however I would never stay here again.

Framily vacation
The cabin is adorable!! But.. the road to get to it was very washed out and we had trouble with one car getting to it. We had no phone service, but there is WiFi so through IPhone and Messenger we were able to stay in touch with most of our families. We saw bears the first day and there were deer that came close almost every evening. Lots of birds to watch.

Christmas Cabin
My family had a great time. The snow was a blast. Plenty of room for everyone. We had some trouble finding the place in the dark however. Print out directions before you leave. GPS will not help you find the cabin.

Jessie Lois Webster is the mother of two grown boys and four grandchildren. Thanks to the Air Force, much of her family’s growing up years was spent in Colorado – skiing, snowboarding, 4-wheel driving, water rafting, hiking, camping, exploring -- celebrating the best of amazing Colorado. Her boys and their families never left the area.

Jessie’s graduate education from the University of Colorado, Boulder, led to a career in Corporate Training and Development which in turn, led to worldwide assignments with Hewlett Packard and Motorola. Even though her last position, CEO of a software company specializing in tools for human resource development, brought her to reside in Chicago, the family regularly gathers for bonding time where their heart is -- Colorado.

In 2005 they decided to re-establish a home base in Allenspark.

Why they chose this property

Our family loves this cabin and its remarkable location, because it accommodates us all, yet is intimate and cozy..

Allenspark is a perfect place - easy to reach from the Denver International Airport and yet a spectacular, serene, relaxing mountainous retreat. In this quaint little town near Estes Park, we found an authentic vintage log cabin perfect for antiques and woodsy furnishings where wildlife is abundant.and the space is mountain-clean.

Here abound a multitude of activities: Horseback riding, kayacking and whitewater rafting, down hill skiing, cross country skiing, easy hikes and challenging climbs.

The cabin is surrounded by the Roosevelt National Forest and the Rocky Mountain National Park and its myriad of famous hiking trailheads.

We make memories here, love and laugh, inspire and bring out the best in each other.

It is a joy to share it with others. We know it is a perfect place for families to enjoy their time together,so we've stocked it with dress up clothes, toys, movies and games. It is a huge pleasure to make this sweet and wonderful cabin available to you.

What makes this property unique
