2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 4 comfortably but can accomodate more.

Nestled in the woods, next to the property's private waterfall, this 2200sf house offers the modern amenities that you find in the city, yet offers all of the enjoyment and pleasures of country living. The large, open kitchen has top-of-the-line appliances and is perfect for creating your own culinary masterpiece. Off the kitchen you'll find a sitting room w/a huge sofa where you can cozy up and read, have your morning coffee or take a nap. The open and airy sun room offers views of the waterfall, stream and sprawling front lawn. The guest bedroom on the main floor offers views of the forest, private access to the deck and a full bath. On the upper level, you'll find the larger master suite with skylights, forest views, a spa-like soaking tub, a wood burning fireplace and room to lounge. About Beth

Although I currently live in NYC, I grew up in Nebraska - and still I'm a country girl at heart! And while The Catskills certainly has far more mountains than the 'great plains', I love the country there. Also, I'm a real estate agent in NYC, so even professionally, 'home' has a special meaning for me. I think you'll see that if you some spend time at our house in Bethel.

Why Beth chose Bethel

As home of the Woodstock concert in 1969, Bethel has a wonderful cultural environment - a blend of counter cultural influences, traditional country folk, and a New York City second home community. The 'Bethel Woods Center for the Arts' is a short 5 minute drive from the house; 'Monticello Gaming and Raceway' (casino) is 10 minutes away. In addition to these major attractions, there's great horseback riding, hiking trails, skiing, annual festivals, art galleries, theater and great restaurants. Also in close proximity to amazing towns where you can go antiquing, shopping and exploring.

What a Beautiful home

We enjoyed a long relaxing weekend in this beautiful, tranquil house. The waterfall is lovely and can be heard throughout the house making for a very zen atmosphere. Pefect antidote to bustling NYC.... Everything in the house is first rate from appliances, to linens, and futniture and it is fully stocked for added convenience. That house is very close to a charming strip of restaurants on Kauneonga Lake. We simply walked to dinner and enjoyed wonderful meals (particularly at the Fat Lady Cafe) while looking at the beautiful lake. I hear the sunsets are magical and I am hoping to catch one on my next trip to this house which is in late August. Amazingly the house is less than 2 hours from NYC but you feel like you are much farther away! Thank you Terry and Beth for creating such a spectacular getaway!

My sister, niece and I had no expectations - but when we arrived, opened the door/windows Nirvana.....
I stayed upstairs, slept with my window open and let the sound of the brook put me to sleep.
All I can say, what a little piece of heaven in Bethel.

A Little Piece of Paradise

What you see is actually what you get! The house is as lovely as the photos, impeccably clean and very well maintained. Terry, the owner, was more than helpful with any questions we had and even emailed a very nice visitor's guide beforehand. Even though you are surrounded by woods and waterfall, several restaurants and a terrific bakery (the BEST croissants!) are a short stroll away. Everyone is very dog friendly also, treating our girl to some tasty bacon for her good manners when we dined outside at several places.

The museum is fun, but don't forget to visit some of the nearby Alpaca farms as well!

My wife and I spent a terffic summer weekend here with another couple. I could go on and on about how great this house is, or how terrific Terry and Beth are, but you really need to experience it for yourself. Every aspect of renting this property, and the property itself, was a dream. My only regret is that the more people that find out about it, the less I'll be able to stay there!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
