Clean, Bright and Lovely Home
This is a well cared for, modern, sunny home with huge window/doors that open to a great view of the neighborhood and the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked (the knifes were actually sharp!) and the floor plan is open and airy. The flooring is a cool marble tile which is great for going barefoot on hot days. Plenty of beach and bath towels are supplied along with a couple of beach chairs which were really nice to have. The bathrooms are big and clean, the water pressure is strong, the beds comfortable and there are AC units in all bedrooms. The house lived up to the VRBO pictures!
One thing we would have liked to have is an outdoor grill. In fairness, Arnaldo does not represent that there is one but it would have been nice to keep the heat of cooking outside on the evenings we decided to eat at home. Also there are two big, beautiful terraces on this house but no outdoor furniture. The neighborhood is for the most part quiet but there are many dogs and there were a few times when they would get into barking duels that could become a bit annoying.
Aida showed us the house and was very helpful in telling us about the beaches and restaurants in the area. Our favorite beach was Combate, about 20 minutes away by car. It is spacious with more than a mile of easy walking beach. We also enjoyed Playa Sucia, also about 20 minutes away. It's beautiful but more difficult to get to and smaller. Sadly, Boquaron Beach was not very nice. It has amenities but there was so much trash that it was pretty unappealing.
All in all a great, well cared for home in an interesting area that provided opportunity to explore and meet the kind people of the area.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your review! We really appreciate it when our guests take the time to share their experiences about our home and about the places they visited on the Island. I read your comments about Boqueron Beach, and it is sad (and something residents have complained as well) that during certain holidays the maintenance crew at Boqueron Beach get time off and the beach is not properly maintained until the days following the holiday. Nevertheless, there is also a reason why this happens, the beach is so popular with locals and tourists alike. Boqueron Beach has been, and continues to be, recognized as a Blue Flag beach (blueflag org), which, among other things, it must comply with the Environmental, Quality of water and safety standards of this International Organization (Puerto Rico has been granted this designation for 7 beaches and 2 marinas in total). So I assure you, that most of the year, this beach will meet, and in many cases exceed, the safety and environmental standards that we have been accustomed to in the US. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us!
