Located overlooking the Ciutadella Park and only three blocks from Barcelona's old city it was the ideal location.
The crowds and the noise of the city faded when we were in the apartment yet we were able to enjoy our breakfast and cocktails on the balcony; gazing at the activities below...joggers, bikers, strollers, people enjoying their café; it was a fascinating scene!
The apartment itself was well appointed with the luxury of a second bedroom which gave our daughter (a student in the area) the option of spending the night with us.
We can't overemphasize Dolores' vast knowledge of Barcelona as well as Spain. Not only did she guide us to the fabulous sites of the city but she also assisted us in planning a trip to Costa Brava (after helping us evaluate that vs. a trip to Madrid or Granada).
Unfortunately, while visiting Barcelona we experienced an emergency medical problem...however; Dolores assisted us in finding immediate medical treatment. Her translating talents helped immensely!

The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos, well laid out and very clean.
At first I thought having single beds would be too small but they are almost like a double bed and as long as a king size bed and very comfortable.
We enjoyed the coffee and cakes that Dolores left us upon our arrival out on the lovely balcony overlooking the park across the street. There is a fully stocked grocery store around the corner which helped as.
Dolores was very helpful and not only had a ton of brochures but also a map on the wall with all the sites shown and how to get to them, she also suggested a few places to dine which we went to and found them all excellent, no disappointments at all.
The apartment and location was perfect and I'd highly recommend staying there while in Barcelona.

Thank you so much for the use of your wonderful apartment and specially for making it so much like a home away from home.
The coffee, milk, and muffins were also so very much appreciated the morning we woke up!We sat on the balcony and played cards every evening before dinner.
We enjoyed watching the green birds that looked a little like parrots and we think we heard the elephant from the zoo once. While walking down Wellington Street one evening,we saw the lion up behind the fence and it roared at us! It was such a sight!
The location was just perfect.
- children welcome
- non smoking only
- pets not allowed

Why Dolores Perez chose Dreta de l'Eixample
Because I I live just round the corner for 40 years and I find is one of the best places to stay in Barcelona, close to everything,:
The GOTHIC area, the Picasso Museum, the Palau de la Musica are just a stone's throw away from the apartment.
CIUTADELLA PARC faces the apartment, has a peaceful atmosphere and is the perfect place both to relax and jog. It houses the Barcelona ZOO, and a waterfall.

What makes this apartment unique
I LET MY GUESTS speak: Kathy (New York City)
My husband, 8-year-old son and I just returned from 7 nights in Dolores' apartment.
It was fabulous. It's clean, well-equipped, with a wonderful balcony overlooking a beautiful park.
The bus stops right outside and the tram and metro are just mere blocks away to take you to all over the city.
It was so nice to come home from a day of crowded sightseeing to this oasis. The neighborhood is safe and lovely, situatued between 2 cafes and filled with locals, not tourists.
Some nights we ate dinner on the terrace with delicious local specialties purchased at the supermarket right around the corner, and we went to the park every night to enjoy the peace and quiet--it's also a great place to run every morning.
It was also nice to know that Dolores was right around the corner if we had any questions or concerns. And she leaves so much information about Barcelona in the apartment, you never feel lost.
I hope to have the chance to recommend this apartment to anyone I know visiting Barcelona. It was a treat to stay here.
Guestbook comments from the owner
We are home back in the States with the fondest memories of Spain,
especially Barcelona and your lovely apartment which really felt like home
away from home. We loved the location and the terrace where we would spend
time talking about our day or night, adventures to be had and taking in the
sights and sounds of your wonderful city. We hope to spend more time with
you next time and please let us know if you get to Atlanta. Again, we loved
your flat and appreciate your hospitality and the bottle of cava!
