This fabulous Penthouse Condo was my home for over 4.5 years... until I married Lindsay in 2007. We plan to live in the condo for 6 months of the year (during the Summer Surf!!!) once we retire in a few years, so we vacation rent it for now. It is a very popular place, and everyone so far has said that they ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! 60 day Fractional purchase is available... just ask.
A HUGE 1480 sf deck with ocean views on both sides... an outdoor grill next to the pool, and amazing surf just right across the street!!! Charming Hawaiian decor, and a well stocked kitchen. Unlike most vacation rental condos... this one comes with lots of cookware, seasonings, oils, condiments, etc. Beach gear too... a soft surf board (use at your own risk!), boogie boards, beach chairs, rolling ice chest, umbrella, tons of beach towels, etc. If something you need is not there... call me to see if you can borrow it from my home just a mile away!
I wanted to tell you how much my mother and I enjoyed your condo. It was so
cute and comfortable - I hated to leave it and Kauai in general. I found the
Prince Kuhio Park to be very beautiful and relaxing as much as the ocean
really. Kauai is a very interesting place and I look forward to returning some
day soon. I would not want to stay anywhere else but your condo. I looked
around at the other people who were staying in different units or different
condo buildings and felt sorry for them. That roof top lanai just cant be beat,
the reclining wooden chairs where very unique and fun. We went just about
everywhere we could drive to on the island but still missed seeing some
things due to weather considerations. We had that big storm while we were
there and saw an interesting lightening phenomenon in and amongst the
regular lightening, it must have been directly over the building. It looked like
a blanket of electricity had been thrown over us several times, lighting up the
entire sky vivid green and making a zzzzzzt noise. It was scary! Now we are
back home in Seattle with our 40 degree weather. Yesterday it actually
snowed a bit. Yuck! Truly, I just wanted to never leave Kauai and your cute
condo, so relaxing.
We spent 8 nights (Oct 31-Nov 8, 2014) in the Penthouse unit. Photos here showed the unit as it is and it is great! Very clean and a big thank you to Kristen for getting it ready for us. We had everything needed for meal prep in the kitchen including spices and cooking oil. All paper products, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, and dish detergent were provided. We were especially happy with the dishwasher. It was a 2 drawer model and our first experience with such. It worked very well. The washer and dryer in the unit worked well, too.
This unit is back away from the road so not much noise. Also because the unit is on the top floor, there was no noise from anyone overhead.
We brought our own snorkeling equipment, but there is a fully stocked cabinet on the deck with all shapes and sizes of equipment. And while I’m mentioning the deck I will say it was even better than the photos! Views of the park and ocean on the east side were great. We also had a sunset view though not unobstructed. For unobstructed views of the sunset, just walk across the street to the Beach House lawn. Also across the street is a great snorkeling beach. Very often there are sea turtles there that can be seen from the lawn or while in the water.
The grounds are very pretty and well maintained. Lots of orchids! And the swimming pool was beautiful. I think it was just resurfaced this summer and it looked brand new.
There are restaurants and shops less than half a mile away in the Kukui’ula shopping center. We walked over a few times and ate at Josselin’s Tapas Bar & Grill, Dolphin Sushi & Fish Market, and Bubba’s Burgers, and all 3 were great. There is also a Living Foods market there. It’s very pricey, but convenient.
We had one small issue with the air conditioner, but the owner resolved the issue to our satisfaction, so all was well. We would stay here again and I would highly recommend this unit to others.
Renting out this penthouse was an excellent experience. The place was very well-kempt and I especially enjoyed the little details that made staying here a breeze: beach towels at the ready, laundry detergent, shampoo in the shower, plenty of towels and sheets, brand new appliances, and even a small fountain outside. You have splendid ocean views on two sides of the apartment, however don't expect a full ocean overlook, another apartment complex blocks the view. You also have a great restaurant and small beach just a short walk away. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the place might have been too nice with too many comforts...perhaps not ideal for adventure seekers expecting a more rugged and minimalist experience. A very minor deficiency indeed. Since I was traveling with my mother this time around, that wasn't an issue. I highly recommend a stay here.
We loved staying in the Pent House. My husband, myself and two boys (11 and 14) were very comfortable there. The beds were absolutely great. The mattress toppers were heaven. The kitchen is the best we've ever had as far as rental places go. Top of the line pots and pans, dishes, knives, bowls, etc. and tons of spices, olive oil and condiments. The shower was very nice, including the view from it. There were so many windows and sliding doors that we never were hot. There was a huge rain storm with 40 mph winds the first night which was actually a lot of fun! The whole unit was extremely clean (truly clean everywhere, not just where you could see) and we never saw any bugs. They pool was also very clean, although it was a little old. We had fun swimming and BBQing. Complaints? The sofa is pretty shot and should probably be replaced. Not a big deal. And lugging our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs was quite a job! We hope to be back to the Pent House soon!
This is a really great top floor apartment just opposite the water. The apartment is clean and extremely well furnished and has everything that you need for a comfortable vacation, including a kitchen full of pots, pans and utensils for those days you want to eat at home. The apartment also has great activities gear, including snorkels, flippers, beach chairs and a portable beach umbrella.
It is such a great condo - thanks so much! It really made our Chrismas vacation fantastic!

This place was an outstanding setup as it is close enough to so many great attractions. The kids were able to dive and body board without bringing anything. The in condo meals were are life saver. We didn't have to eat unhealthy expensive meals as the kitchen and BBQ (with help from Costco) was perfect. There are 3 flights of stairs so this is not for the disabled but we found it to be a good way to keep fit. re able that helps keep you fit. There was AC available as an upgrade but it is not needed as there is plenty of tradewind breeze. This is the best unit in the best location. Clean and well maintained. The owners is a no-nonsense professional who has it figured out. Stop looking around and see if your dates are available. I won't stay anywhere else.
'The Shops at Kukui'ula' within easy walking distance (1/2 mile), with a Gourmet Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 4-6 PM .
Surfing, boogie boarding and snorkeling are right across the street! Watch the whales from the Lanai or the beach.
