We had such a blast in Hanalei. It's hard to believe we were even there with it being so far away and so incredibly different from where we are now. What an experience... my favorite moment was biking on the beach at night. I think we nearly had the bay to ourselves. It was surreal. Thank you for sharing your place with us.
Hale Haha is tucked away in a great part of Kauai Island. The house is clean, spacious, and has enough bedrooms and other sleeping books for a large group. At night, under a pristine starry sky, you can hear the waves from the windows. The town of Hanelei is less than 1000 steps away, and is constantly buzzing with a friendly and relaxed energy. There is a lot to do here - or very little if that's what you need. Highly recommended for families.
Nine adults and one baby...this Home couldn't have been better for gathering, lounging, eating, and heading to the beach. perfect!
This house is awesome! Has everything for kids and for adults! Location is perfect. You can walk to beach and to town. Susan is so nice! Really cares and she has everything there at the house for all your vacation needs!
We stayed at Hale Haha during our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. The location can't be beat: It's a block to the most beautiful beach you can imagine (not crowded, soft sand), i.e. Hanalei Bay, and a 10 minute walk into town - where you can get everything you need (restaurants, shops, coffee shop, natural foods store, liquor store, etc.) Much thought has been put into ensuring the house is equipped with anything you might need: bicycles, boogie boards, towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear - and it even has a washer/dryer and ping-pong table. We stayed in a suite (a portion of the house that you can rent if you don't need the entire house to yourself) and it was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with a private lanai. The house is filled with books (ranging from novels to Hawaii guides to non-fiction tomes) which makes it feel homey and cozy. There are also sweet notes throughout inviting you to call the owner if you have any problems or issues (we did not...), which makes you feel taken care of. Staying at the Hale Ha Ha is definitely the way to go if you're planning on visiting Hanalei! I would definitely recommend this home over one of the area hotels for a special Kauai experience.
I spent two weeks in this wonderful vacation home. First week with girlfriends, second week with family. Everyone enjoyed the home and all the activities offered - bicycles, ping pong, pool table, snorkeling equipment and of course an easy walk to a beautiful beach for swimming and boogie boarding. Susan, the owner, was quick to answer any questions. The house has a very "Hawaiian" feel. If you're looking for a sterile hotel room with no personality, this is not for you. If you're looking to get a feel of what it would be like to live in Hanalei - this is perfect. Walking distance to town with restaurants and shops. It satisfied all our needs from 6 years old to 60.
Without a doubt Hale Haha was a perfect "home" for my family and friends during our extended stay in Hanalei, HI. Our location was perfect for rest and perfect for an active and social Kauai Island experience. The beach is so close it feels like your backyard and we were able to enjoy it several times a day. Shops are close enough to walk but far enough to feel less part of the business of town. Hale Haha had every detail covered to make for a scrumptiously enjoyable stay. There were plenty of helpful notes around to help you get adjusted to the nuances of the area and Hale HaHa. I also appreciated the beautiful garden with fresh delicious papaya and banana. The house was beautiful no matter the weather. The owner's made sure there were plenty of books to read, music to listen to, tools to cook with, views to enjoy, bikes to ride, soft places to nap, art to enjoy, and even bug spray and sunscreen. We enjoyed our stay so much, my family considers this a second home. The lanai is an ideal spot for mealtime, nap time…well, anytime. I miss being there RIGHT NOW.
The owners have been extremely thoughtful in every detail. I hope you get to experience the rare beauty that is Hale Haha. It matches the beauty and Aloha of Kauai itself.
It's only a short walk or bike ride to 'Pine Trees', the world famous Surf spot, on Hanalei Bay...and, it's an equally short walk to town where there are groceries, shopping & fine dining.
Everything you need is walking distance!
