This apartment is located in the heart of San Juan, minutes away from the beach, restaurants, nightlife, casinos, museums, Bellas Artes theater, Old San Juan, and the airport. This comfortable apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, central air unit, washer and dryer and internet access. All the amenities that will make your love ones happy!!! The master bedroom has a queen size bed, a full size sofa bed, a small living area with a desk and full bathroom. The second bedroom has a twin bed, a bunk bed (twin/full), and a desk. Full second bathroom in the hallway. The living room has a 32' LCD TV/DVD. The second living room has a full size sofa bed. The kitchen and the dining room are huge and fully equipped with a dining tablet that fits 6 and a bar space that fits 2. A bed for your furry one is available too.
Neighborhoods: El Condado: El Condado, as the locals say, is the island's most glamorous district, featuring boutiques, a variety of restaurants, and some of the finest hotels on the island. Contrary to popular belief, many nationals do reside here in the exquisite turn-of-the-century mansions. You'll notice the populace on any given day to be a good balance between tourists and locals. If you are an avid jogger, you'll love the expanse of open area. This district spans from the Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino in the west to the Ocean Park area in the east. Condado attracts an upscale party crowd who flocks to its clubs and ubiquitous small cafés and bars. Take to the dance floor and learn the latest salsa moves at any of the hotel lobbies that provide this type of entertainment for visitors.
Old San Juan/Puerta de Tierra: San Juan is a traditional, colonial city that is bordered by walls. San Juan is connected to the mainland via several bridges. Old San Juan itself consists of narrow streets encompassing over four hundred years of history and tradition. Dine in one of the great establishments on Fortaleza Street, party in San Sebastián until dawn, or simply stroll along the charming avenues and thoroughfares. Similar to Europe this area is to people-watch, and there is no better place to indulge in this activity than from one of the several plazas that are located throughout the city. This town has something for all ages, young and old. A must-see is the impressive Spanish fort El Morro. San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico's after hours nightlife, most hot clubs, lively bar, discotheques, and casinos are located here. Sanjuaneros, or the people of San Juan, are serious party-goers, and they know how to keep the party scene alive and well. Playing hard seems to be part of his culture.
Isla Verde: Isla Verde
Isla Verde is home to high-rise apartment buildings, huge clubs and luxurious hotels. This area is actually part of the municipality of Carolina, connected to San Juan via several highways and streets. It spans from the Punta Las Marías area ( adjacent to Ocean Park ) to the land just beyond the International Airport. Isla Verde hosts world-class hotels that include the Ritz-Carlton and El San Juan. Its nightlife is exciting, and the enormous balneario, or public beach, is where locals and guests come to sunbathe and get their fill of people-watching. Isla Verde in recent years has been converted into a mega-party district, housing super clubs like Brava. There are plenty of cafés and street-side bars along this strip. The lobbies of the InterContinental San Juan and the Ritz-Carlton have excellent entertainment, but the ever popular El San Juan Hotel & Casino is, without question, the place to be on Saturdays.
I currently live in NYC with my wife and son. I'm a veterinarian and my wife a fashion designer. We have been in NYC 6 years. I came to NY in the summer of 2008 to do a Internship in Fifth Ave. Veterinary Specialist and decided to stay a year later.
I was born to a family of 4 siblings, I was the youngest. I study veterinary medicine in Ross University and practice in PR from 2004 to 2008.

I always love the area where I finally bought my property. I remember when I was younger, high school, and we used to take a short cut through San Jorge St. to go to the beach. San Jorge St. runs perpendicular to the building.
I fall in love with this property because of the amazing views. I surf, so I used to get up to analyze the offshore reefs to know how the waves were in my favorite beach in San Juan, Aviones.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing penthouse with a few of my family and business associates. From the moment we arrived we were highly impressed with the security (not to mention it is located in a nice neighborhood). There is a key entry for the property gate, to enter the building, to ride the elevator, and to enter your penthouse. The safety gave my group and I much satisfaction. But the prize is most definite the penthouse itself. Very well taken care of property and so spacious. Everyone in my group had their own personal space. The rooftop view is amazing and the views from the penthouse are amazing as well. The beach a short walk from the building but I would recommend renting a car if you plan on traveling the city and island. When I return to San Juan there is no other pace I would wish to stay, there is no reason to stay at a hotel this place covers everything you would need and more.
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at this two bedroom, two bathroom penthouse apartment. The apartment was quite big and had a beautiful view of San Juan. It was safe, quiet, and clean. We had a fully functional kitchen which allowed us to buy some items which we would not have been able to if we had stayed at a hotel. The apartment was equipped with EVERYTHING that one could think of needing. Lastly, the apartment manager Norma was awesome! She was friendly and very helpful. I have been to San Juan before, but this time I felt as if I was coming home. I really did not want my stay to end!
We were visiting San Juan for a few days in late January. The apartment was perfect for what we were looking for. The rooms and kitchen were well equipped and had everything we needed. We didn't plan on spending much time at home but rather using the apartment as home base for our outings and excursions. For this purpose it was great because we could easily come and go. Having our own parking space was a plus.
Luis and Norma were very helpful prior to and during our stay. Luis responded to my emails quickly every time I had questions and even took the time to send me ideas for restaurants and things to do when I asked some specific questions about beaches and driving on the island. Norma met us at the apartment when we arrived and then led us to the grocery store when she left versus just giving us directions.
There isn't a lot to do in the direct vicinity of the apartment as far as we could tell. We walked around a few blocks in multiple directions one day and there were a few shops and businesses but pretty quiet. We did find the Abracadabra restaurant and cafe just a short walk down a side street. This place is a little gem - quirky, fun, unique food, brunch and good coffee, with live music on most nights.
The beach is about a 10-15 minute from the apartment. I thought it was a little closer but it was a nice easy walk. It is a nice beach and good for walking and swimming. Our kids loved building sand castles and playing in the water.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want to be in the center of the action but wants a place with the amenities of home - kitchen, washer and dryer, multiple bedrooms and baths, a nice view, and easy access to major roads and the beach.
The apartment is nice yes but our stay in this 1970's style apartment was one maintenance issue after another. The first night that we were there the AC was leaking water into the hallway. We had to use pots and pans to catch it. It wasnt till 10AM the next day when we heard something back from property manager about getting it fixed. Then a few days later there was a complaint from another tenant about water leaking through the ceiling in the apartment below. Through out the week stay there was a maintenance visit 3 different days, one at 8:30AM. Also, dont expect to sleep in on your vacation, window coverings do not block any light and wind whistles through the window in master bedroom non stop. BEWARE! There is no AC duct into the second bedroom, sleeping in the heat was very uncomfortable. AC was set on 50 the whole week and the apartment never felt less than 80 degrees. Small black ants everywhere in kitchen we had to keep all food refigerated so that they didnt get into the food. All in all we had a blast on our vacation but the apartment left a lot to be desired.
This was a execellent property I would stay here again. I highly suggest any visting San Juan look up this spot. The neighborhood was clean a safe.Luis the owner was very helpful to me by giving tons of info for having a good time........this was a first class rental.
This was a wonderful condo. Close to everything & Luis was incredibly helpful with advice & answering questions we had about traveling in San Juan. Norma and Javier went above & beyond in welcoming & assisting us during our travels. The condo had a great view, plenty of space, & great decor. We had an excellent vacation.
Condominium San Mateo Plaza is located in the intersection of San Jorge street and San Mateo street. The catholic church Iglesia San Mateo with neoclassical architecture is located right in the corner of San Jorge and San Mateo St. and right in front of the building. The Arrivi theater, the Bellas Artes theater, the Puerto Rico Museum of Arts with its superb restaurant Picayo, the San Jorge Children hospital, La Casona restaurant, the most popular beach in PR (Ocean Park) are all within walking distance. Also, the main venue for concerts and sports events (Coliseo de Puerto Rico) is just about 1 mile away.
