Autumn in the Poconos

  • 5 of 5

By far, this was the most luxurious and clean property we have ever rented. We take an annual family vacation with our adult children and their families, and found the accomodations to be spacious, well laid out for our three families. The amenities are first class, providing for an enjoyable stay. We found the owners to be very courteous, and helpful - making us feel very welcomed into their home. The owners surprised us with little touches, like including a picture of our new granddaughter on the computer desktop for our enjoyment. Our families enjoyed the time we spent in this property. This was our first foray into the Poconos, as we usually go the the Jersey shore area. We were very pleased with this vacation, and would recommend this wonderful vacation home to anyone looking for a spacious, luxurious experience! We want to thank the owners for allowing us to share our vacation in their home!

Second Time is a Charm!

  • 5 of 5

This year we stayed over New Year's with our children, their spouses and six grandchildren, all of whom ski/snowboard. There was ample room for everyone at this beautiful specious house and the kids loved it so much two years ago, they all wanted to rent the same house again. With seven adults and six kids - you still can have your own space. Carole is very accommodating and reachable with any questions you may have, the house was always clean and very well stocked with every appliance you can think of, and then some - we even grilled steak and lobster tails for our New Years dinner on the outside barbeque! It is so easy to get to the mountain and the kids love the trails. Would highly recommend this house to any family and/or extended family!

Great Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this home for the past 3 years over Thanksgiving and every year we are excited to go back. Carole and her daughter are very responsive and always make you feel like you're staying with family. We arrived with 10 people, but everyday there was a new furry friend at our front door, a great place for children to enjoy the local wildlife.(Deer, Wild Turkey). This year on arrival we had 9" of snow, but within hours a snowplow had our parking area and walkway cleared. The home is spotless, updated and very very comfortable, there is plenty of room to relax to watch the big game in the living room, as well as the game room downstairs.

The Masthope lodge is also a great place for families, during our stay we ate dinner at the Summit Restaurant and attended the holiday craft fair and played bingo on Friday night(a favorite with the kids).

A great home for family and friends.

Great second visit

  • 5 of 5

We were here earlier this month and came back for second mini vacation. Loved it so much the first time. Weather was great- much better than back home. Home clean, and up to date and well decorated. Owners have a list of restaurants and activities for their guests. Had breakfast on deck every morning and eat dinner at Peter's near by- great food, fresh and local ingredients. Went rowing, and swimming, hiking and horseback riding. Hope to come for fall foilage.

Great vacation, relaxing and host of activities.

  • 5 of 5

Arrived to find a new, up to date, very clean home. Great view from rear of property. Dining area has a view of the lush trees, and large comfortable dining area sits up to 12. Kitchen has all the amenities, great outdoor porches and patio furniture. Comfortable beds. Perfect get away to either relax and enjoy view and wildlife, saw baby black bear and took some great photos. Deer come up to porch. Had lots of activities for all ages. Went to Shohola Falls-one of he best waterfalls in the poconos.=great photos. Went to the stables for horseback riding. Outdoor pool and restaurant at top of the mountain. Beach and lake area to bottom of the mountain. Went to see a staff show and theme show at Woodloch Resort two different nights- great entertainment and comedian, and musical show on Saturday or Wednesday night. Spent a day spa day at the Lodge at Woodloch- (ten minutes away), had a massage and facial, enjoyed indoor pool, whisper room, outdoor hottub, and sauna. Make reservations ahead of time for this and get gift cards at Costo, etc - SpaWish to save money for the treatments. Took 20 minute ride to New York side, to Narrowsburgh and went to several great locally owned restaurants, and had great trout and homemade ice cream. Great scenery. Owners of the home are nice people and very easy to deal with and contact. My husband and I took my mother and our kids- everyone had a great time and are looking forward to going back.

nice place great house , but...........

  • 3 of 5

the house was great . however the masthope security hassled our entire group with citations for god knows what and they folled us like we were criminals when we took a walk .. it felt like we were in prison out side the home .. it would be wise if the owner made a complaint about this because as much as we liked it .we felt like we were being hunted and prayed apon by the help ... not the best experiance....r.d

Car: necessary

With winter snow skiing and a 250 acre spring fed lake on-site, Masthope is truly a year round vacation location. Enjoy the equestrian center with indoor and outdoor riding trails. An Olympic size pool with water slide and kiddie pool help cool the hot summer days. Also enjoy tennis, basketball, handball, bocce ball, shuffle ball and more, all on-site. With the Delaware and Lackawaxen Rivers close by, fishermen and rafters alike are within minutes of recreation. Visit our new Lodge and enjoy a fabulous meal and/or beverage with a breathtaking view.
