Our home is centrally located in San Antonio in the upscale suburb of Terrell Hills. It is only minutes north of downtown and the Alamo, River walk, Alamo Dome and other tourist attractions. The San Antonio Airport is only ten minutes to the North and you could easily walk the block and a half to the University of the Incarnate Word.
The world renowned San Antonio ZOO, Brackenridge Park and miniature railroad, the Witte Museum and tree house are just down Broadway. The AT&T Center is less than 15 minutes away and Splashtown is only ten minutes down the road. If you wish to go spend the day at one of our theme parks, Fiesta Texas and Sea World are only 20 minutes away. Central Market is a block and a half away and so are numerous eating establishments.
Our home is a one story renovated ranch-style house. It has a new standing seam roof and a circular driveway. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a HDTV. Plantation shutters, original hardwood floors and crown moulding are throughout the house. The master bath has been renovated with travertine tile throughout and twin sinks. The secondary bath also has been updated with a new Kohler pedestal sink and travertine tile. There are three large living areas and a dining room with a table that holds 8 comfortably. There are three bedrooms (two with TVs) and two more pull out couches in the sunroom (with a TV) and the 'blue room'. In San Antonio, you could not desire a more centrally located home to sample all our city has to offer..
Five of us stayed here for a week while attending a conference in San Antonio. The house was extremely comfortable with space to spare, well stocked with everything we would need (including most toiletries and ample kitchen supplies), and Pruny was an excellent host. She made sure everything was perfect and even offered us warm coats when the weather got unseasonably cold! The beds were very comfortable and we slept great. Close to downtown/airport/restaurants on Broadway but also in a quiet, secluded community that was perfect for walks/jogs. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to San Antonio!
In town for my son's wedding; very nice house, conveniently located in nice, older area of town. Close to interstates, shopping, downtown, etc... The main reason for not giving five stars is that the house is needing some TLC; a plumbing problem the first day (partially resolved but no ability for baths), broken recliner in "blue room", broken chair on deck, new range hood totally non-functioning, older tv's have picture problems.
I assume the owner was having a bad day/weekend as she wasn't at all friendly, needed an hour before I could even just ASK a simple question when I saw her in the back yard and seemed generally stressed. She did apologize once but was still just as "curt" (her word) afterwards. This was unusual to us since other VRBO owners we've dealt with have been extremely friendly and accomodating.
Overall, the house fit our needs, was roomy and comfortable, kitchen is very nice.
My wife and I were there with our son and daughter-in-law and two grandkids. We have lived in San Antonio years ago and enjoyed tremendously revisiting some of our favorite places and restaurants. Spent a day at Sea World. Rode the Brackenridge Park train and went to Kiddie Park. Very convenient to both churches that we enjoy visiting when in San Antonio, including the church where we were married. We were in Central Market nearly every day.
Loved the home, amenities . Could not have asked for a nicer place. My whole family loved it.
Nice, clean, spacious home in a close in leafy suburb conveniently located for all that San Antonio has to offer. Two minutes to Zoo/Museum /Park, ten minutes to airport, ten minutes to Alamo/Riverwalk and 30 minutes to Hill Country. Home is big and comfortable with nice updated kitchen and backyard big enough to toss the football around. Great neighborhood good for evening walks with views of nearby mansions. Would definitely stay again.
Six adults and three kids (ages 1, 10,& 12) met up in San Antonio for 5 days over Thanksgiving. This house worked so well for us! It was clean and comfortable and the location was excellent. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen, a big dining table, plenty of dishes (including wine glasses) and plenty of utensils. We were able to walk to the Central Market and were just down the road from the fabulous San Antonio Zoo, Breckenridge Park, and the River Walk. The owners have done an excellent job maintaining this house as a rental.
Other Activities: Shopping, amusement parks , museums, missions, san Antonio river events located downtown on the river. Bitanical Gardens, outlet shopping in San Marcus north of town about one hour drive. driving through the hill country expecially now with wildflowers blooming along the highways. One hour drive to Austin to see the capitol of Texas. Boerne Texas about 45 minutes away for flavor of old Texas as well as Fredricksburg Texas ( one hour drive ). Historic King William part of San Antonio. Fort Sam Houston
