This special vacation retreat rests amidst expensive homes of the 'rich and famous' (Kauai scenes from Honeymoon in Vegas were filmed at our neighbors home, and Hollywood stars are frequently spotted here), yet this home offers a surprisingly affordable opportunity to experience one of the true gems of 'Old Hawaii'. Anini Beach is relaxation paradise at its finest!
Situated 77 paces from a safe and tranquil swimming beach, a rarity on the North Shore, with gentle mountains looking on from above, this nearly three mile long gold-sand beach is protected from the open ocean by the longest, widest fringing reef in all of Hawaii. This makes Anini Beach one of Kauai's safest beaches for swimming, windsurfing, fishing and kayaking year round. With shallow water - three to five feet deep - it's also one of the best snorkel and dive locations on Kauai, for beginners or experts alike. Within steps from this home, you’ll find pockets of turquoise reefs that offer glimpses of rare tropical fish and underwater sea life that can only be found on Kauai. Walk the beach at sunrise and sunset, and you will feel as if you have been reborn. Or just spend the day looking for the rare seashells that wash upon the gentle shore or reading that book you’ve been putting off for too long.
Whatever your true need, let the miracle of Anini Beach replenish your soul as the ocean waves lull you to sleep at night and refresh you as you wake each morning. Moments of tranquility and spectacular beauty that you will recall years after leaving. Memories that will call for your return for years to come. Find that special Anini Moment that you and your loved ones will cherish for a lifetime!!!
Relax... You've found Paradise!!!
Mahalo for your visit. And as we say on Kauai, 'A Hui Hou' or 'Until we meet Again!'
Aloha Nui Loa!
Of the many times we've visited beautiful Kauai over the years, this was the most perfect of them all. Your home is truly filled with aloha. We enjoyed and appreciated the soulfulness of your home with its shells, coral, plants and flowers everywhere. The gifts you left for us were so great! Thanks! (Loved the wine!) We took the Hawaiian CD you made for us in the car, which made the incomparable drives here even more lovely. We also enjoyed the morning chorus of birds outside our bedroom window and often lingered to hear just a little more. We will definitely be back and thank you again for sharing this place with us and for your amazing thoughtfulness. Mahalo Nui Loa!
3 couples stayed here for 10 nights and we were all very comfortable. There is a view of the ocean through the dining room window and Anini beach is only steps away. This beach was calm and I'm told it has good snorkeling and sea turtles, but we never saw any here. We saw the most turtles over on the South side. The weather wasn't perfect during our stay, but it was still paradise and we snapped the most amazing sunrise photo with the sun coming up behind Kilauea light house. When we needed something from the owner, Clover, I simply texted her and it was kindly delivered to our doorstep (extra fans or whatever). The house is extremely comfortable with tons of extras (towels/beach chairs/snorkel gear/books/movies) and I liked that there is a washer/dryer, recycling and composting!! Seating at the bar area in the kitchen could use a few more tall chairs, as we all seemed to gather there. We cooked most of our meals at home and went to foodland nearly every day. If you like POKE, this is the place to get it! We spent a lot of time in Hanalei and loved Calypsos!! We drove to the end of the North side a few times to Ke'e Beach (good sunset). We ate at Sushi Girl! If she offers the honeycomb roll...TRY IT! We hiked the Napali Coast to the beach. That took like 4-5 hours, but is the most amazing view you will ever see. You must drive the Waimea Canyon and take a boat ride to the Napali Coast! When on the west side, be sure to catch the sunset at Salt Pond Beach. This was actually our favorite beach on the island and the sunsets are amazing! Not enough attention is given to Queens Bath either, which was only a 5 min drive from the house, in Princeville. There is a small, but gorgeous walk to an expansive cliff view over lava rock(wear your reef shoes). We saw several turtles here and a cliff jumper! On the way out, we stopped at the small, but picturesque waterfall. Its only about hip deep and you can get in and let the water fall onto your back. Its just beautiful in there! Watch out for the RED MUD. The South side is dryer, but the North side is one big botanical garden. If you spend ANY time whatsoever in a forested area, keep bug spray on hand. Mosquitos are relentless.
We loved this location, the house and our time on Kauai!! Oh and one special shout out to Clover, who saved us when our car battery had died!! We would have missed our flight home if she hadn't given us a jump! Thanks Clover, for everything!
Three couples - parents and grown children, stayed here during Christmas week. I was very impressed with the house - very well organized with all the kitchen things you could ever need, and there's a large comfortable living space for evening lounging. The 3 bedrooms are nicely spaced, so everyone had privacy. One nice touch was the large supply of snorkel gear, beach chairs and towels for enjoyment at beautiful Anini Beach just across the street. The sound of surf is a constant companion. We snorkeled every day. The water was always warm, and clear most days. We saw numerous turtles, beautiful coral and colorful fish. Hanalei, Ke'e Beach and Tunnels Beach are a short drive away. This is a special place!
We had a fantastic time at this house. Clover is awesome and so incredibly helpful. The house is nicely equipped so all you need is a swimsuit and flip flops. The kids can walk across the street to swim no matter the conditions. Annini beach is calm and there are turtles swimming - awesome!
I highly recommend this property and people like Clover are the reason we will be returning. She gives you total privacy during your stay and helps you with the details.
We liked most things about this property starting from the very friendly and attentive communications with the owner on all stages and through the end of our stay there. The house is comfortable for two couples (possibly with children if you're fine sharing one bathroom for two bedrooms) or for a bigger group of younger travelers who need just enough places to sleep. Master bedroom is very nice but if you're a light sleeper be prepared for the cars passing by almost any time during the night. Property is clean but it's a private house not a hotel chain so not everything is in perfect shape, there is some reasonable wear and tear. The beach is really great and well protected from waves. You might want to add another 77 steps to the left after you do reach it in the first 77 steps - but only because ocean floor has less corals there. But if you wear water shoes you'll be fine swimming anywhere on that beach.
What a treat to stay at Anini Beach House!
From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and at home, and impressed with the sense of light and air and space in this beautifully appointed house.
Coming in to find a welcome note, local treats and fragrant arrangements of Plumeria blossoms, we felt as if we had come to stay at a friend's home.
We were traveling as two couples and found that the lovely open floor plan allowed us plenty of privacy when we weren't busy cooking together in the well designed kitchen area, sharing meals out on the lanai, or playing music together with a variety of instruments thoughtfully left out to be enjoyed.
The house is situated at one of the prettiest beaches on Kauai with waters calm enough to snorkel and we were happy to find such a great selection of snorkel gear available for our use. A few minutes walk to the beach and into the warm clear water with mask and fins we were treated to a close up encounter with several beautiful sea turtles! Breathtaking!
We loved our time at Anini Beach House and can't wait to return.
We all agreed that this beach house had the right combination of cleanliness, capaciousness, privacy and a great location. We felt that the photos didn't actually do the home justice. It looks far better once you arrive. The wonderful light and expansiveness were not captured in the snapshots. Clover is so kind and helpful and she has taken every measure to anticipate all the needs of her guests. I would definitely recommend the home to others and plan on revisiting.
