Garden Apartment - 2 Bedrooms - 2 Baths - (Sleeps 2-6)

Our Southbank garden apartment, in the new heart of London, is 100 yards from The Thames behind The OXO Tower between Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge.

Our apartment is on the first and second floors of a small, modern block of 16 apartments. The first floor comprises of a living room and full kitchen. There are patio doors onto a beautiful, planted deck with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is also a double bedroom and shower room on this floor. There is also a a third bedroom with bunk beds suitable for two children or one adult.. On the second floor is an en suite master bedroom overlooking the garden deck. There is an elevator.

We are very close to the cultural heart of London including The National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Royal Festival Hall, National Film Theatre, Tate Modern, Globe Theatre and The London Eye. There are lots of places nearby to eat and drink to cover all tastes and budgets.

Location: We are ten minutes from two tube stops (Waterloo and Blackfriars), which have 5 lines between them as well as British Rail services. For the most picturesque walk along The River, we use Embankment Station, which takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on how many photos you take!

Eating: We have plenty of places nearby to eat including two very good restaurants in The OXO Tower, which have great views. There are lots of less expensive restaurants within a short distance, many overlooking The River, and a couple of pubs on The River that serve food and drink throughout the day.It truly is the best location in London!

About David and Julia Batchelor-Walsh

David and Julia have always loved the culture of London's South Bank and when the opportunity arose to purchase an apartment they couldn't believe their luck.

They have a seven years' old son, Sebastian.

Julia is a professional, classical singer having trained at The Royal College of Music. Since the birth of Sebastian she has been a full time Mum fitting in the occasional concert.

David is a full time Dad and says it's the best thing he has ever done!

The South Bank is the vibrant cultural centre of London. Our apartment is near Tate Modern, he world's most visited art gallery and a host of other attractions including The Globe Theatre, St Pauls, The National Theatre,National Film Theatre, Hayward Gallery, The Royal Festival Hall, London Eye etc etc.

We are within walking distance of theatreland and Covent Garden and there are lots and lots of places to eat and drink to suit all tastes and budgets.

Public transport is fabulous particularly the RV1 bus which stops outside our apartment block and runs, mainly along The River from Tower Hill to Covent Garden via Waterloo. It is a very frequent service. Taxis are abundant.

Garden apartment in the middle of London close to many of London's major tourist and cultural attractions and a short walk from The Thames.

Superbly located London apartment

Superbly located apartment a stone's throw from the London Eye, with many of London's top attractions within walking distance. We never had to travel more than 6 tube stops to go anywhere that we wanted to go, including the O2, which we went to via a sunny boat trip on a Thames Clipper, and returned via the underground.

We were there on a sunny week, and the patio garden was greatly appreciated, as was the piano, which our 12 year old son loved.

There are lots of good local restaurants within 10 minutes, and Borough Market on Thursday, Friday and Saturday is fabulous for picnic fodder, fruit, cheese and mouthwatering cakes.

Apartment is well equipped and clean, with everything that we needed for our week's stay. Welcome groceries were much appreciated.

We will definitely book this again for our next trip to London.

This is just our latest stay at the well managed,excellently laid out and situated condo. Excellent neighbors who are their when you may need a little help. Safe and secure for you and your family and very quiet for the center of a large city. Close (10 to 20 minutes by tube or bus-always taxis on the street day or night) to any and everything ! This will be our first choice for any trip to London !

Wonderful flat!!

Our family of 5 came to London for a special family event at the National Gallery. This flat was much more than we expected. The location was so convenient - very close to Waterloo and walking distance to Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, London Eye and some pretty awesome pubs too!

The flat was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was a little too cool to enjoy the wonderful outdoor patio - maybe on our next visit! If we return, and I surely hope we do, we would love to stay here again.

Great Spot in a Great Part of London

This is a terrific 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in a very interesting, convenient, up and coming area of London. Apartment is clean with small kitchen that we didn't use but which would be perfectly adequate. Small garden is lovely though we didn't use it because it was raining. Walk to the Tate Modern, or walk across one of the footbridges to National Gallery, Tower, West End, the gardens -- in short, a great place to stay. We will definitely stay here again.

We loved the apartment - it is a good size, well laid out with all facilities and a wonderful location. We walked everywhere and found great eating places on The Cut. good weather allowed us to have lunch on the deck with food from Borough Market - such a bonus to have outdoor space. The layout allowed our teenage son to have privacy on the upper floor with TV and wifi - thanks for letting us use your home,

great place, great location

very nice apartment, has got everything you could possibly wish for, including shampoo - great when you are flying - and tea and toast to recover from the trip. Central location, hardly needed the Oyster card. My biggest problem: everyone wants to come back !

We are very close to the cultural heart of London including The National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Royal Festival Hall, National Film Theatre, and Tate Modern. They are all within a five to ten minutes walk along the river bank . A little further and you would reach The London Eye, The Houses of Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. If you cross Waterloo Bridge, Covent Garden is two minutes away.
