Excellent Location, Charming

Date of Stay: May 2012
Our family of three (myself, husband, adult daughter) stayed in flat vrbo #191301 for seven nights in late May 2012. There was plenty of room for the three of us; as we travel on the cheap, it was a luxury to have private bedrooms with a separate common/living area. The kitchen/ living area was well lit, nicely set up and the kitchen had all of the appliances necessary to make our stay easy. We utilized the washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, KETTLE (must have morning tea), and certainly the refrigerator, availing ourselves of some of the basic groceries it contained. (Thank you, David)
We were able to check in early, which was a big help. David met us at the flat —
he was welcoming, informative and efficient, answering all of our immediate questions, and helping us with the internet issues we experienced, through more than a few phone calls. Thanks for your patience on that score, David. We made a short note in the notebook about the sequence of logging in and thereafter, though reception was spotty at times, we had no major problems.
The location of this flat was amazing - right off the Riverwalk, within easy walk of two tube stations (Blackfriars and Waterloo, although we mostly used Blackfriars), just a wonderful location. We walked to the Eye, to Westminster Abbey, sometimes unwinding by strolling along the Riverwalk. My only caveat is to be aware that it is a 10 minute walk to Blackfriars tube station and a bit further to Waterloo; we had no rain, but if we had, we would have learned the bus routes quickly. There is a bus stop just outside the door.
The outside space was lovely - and very welcoming. Having the natural light was wonderful in the common living area.
Some small issues we experienced/observed. The armchairs in the living area have seen better days — the seats were quite broken down, we ended up putting some of the throw pillows on the seats to make them comfortable to sit in. Our daughter (using the downstairs bathroom) said she ran out of hot water while showering a few times. Also the shower upstairs takes a bit of getting used to - the slope of the tub is quite pronounced, so be careful stepping in.
This flat gives you a lot for the rental cost. Truly wonderful location, a lot of space for a small group traveling together — we loved coming back to this flat! When we return to London, David’s flat will be the first we will check for availability.
