Please Note: minimum 6-NIGHT rental required, which could start any day of the week. Retro (1930's), vintage, Deco, fully restored and equipped, in the very heart of Old San Juan, on the main square, 'Plaza de Armas', right in front of City Hall, at the only residential building on the plaza. There is an open-air cafe on the plaza below. Front full-size balcony with great views, including a glimpse of the ocean bay. Some of the features are: land telephone, hi-speed internal WI-FI, printer/copier/scanner, washer/dryer, iron with board, granite-top kitchen counter, gas stove, high-ceilings, intercom, original mahogany doors and woodwork, TV/DVR home theater with cable service via DishNetwork, stereo, CD player, A/C throughout most areas (except in 2nd bedroom), soundproof windows, water reserve, etc. Very safe. Since this is an owner-maintained unit (no agents involved), we make constant improvements. This vacation rental will cost you less than the average hotel room in Old San Juan, besides the fact that you won´t find a better location and get to stay in a full-size apartment full of amenities.

Ideal for retirees, couples, business people, professionals, small families (up to 3 people), solo travelers, artists or anyone who appreciates historical properties. Long terms welcome!

Location, Location, Location

The location of this two bedroom , apartment together with the owners helpful and attentive help and suggestions made our stay successful and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed looking down from the balcony early mornings and watching the city wake up.
I recommend this apartment where location and comfort are needed.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing
Owner's Response: This was actually our first vacation rental ever, back in 2009. Even though only a 4-star review was received, which is still very good, it served as enough motivation to make some upgrades to the property for the utmost comfort of our guests. This historic apartment is aimed mainly at those guests that truly enjoy and seek an authentic, original and artistic ambiance in a restored setting. It is worth noting that after this review, these same guests have stayed with us at least twice more.

Terrific. No place could be more convenient to see Old San Juan. Ramon recommended great places to eat. The accommodations suited to a T our family of 3. We loved beaches castles & forest and our balcony view of theater dance and mime. Great vacation -- Dick S

Charming and convenient

Our second stay here has only confirmed our fondness for this apartment. In fact, we have already booked our stay for next year. We feel that the goal of our most cordial host is to share something about Puerto Rican culture. The apartment is located in a building situated close to essential services: a Walgreens, a department, a book and a grocery store. There are numerous restaurants and walks along the water, charming streets. museums and shops. There are renovation projects ongoing in the building and late concerts on the Plaza.

Lovely home right in the heart of Old San Juan

If you are looking for the perfect place to rent right in the heart of Old San Juan, you just found it. Comfort, location, beauty and attention to detail are what this unit is all about. This place has everything; It’s spotlessly clean, spacious, well appointed and in a great location. The view is fabulous and my balcony time became ritual. The apartment has all of the amenities of home at a price that beats most of the hotels which don’t offer half of what you will enjoy here. Fast wi-fi, good a/C, comfy beds, land line, cable, charming decor, W/D, stereo, Bose sound system, turntable, DVD, CD library, copy/fax/printer, cedar lined closets with plenty of hangers, filtered water, and a fully stocked kitchen with everything from cookbooks to a bamboo steamer, etc. And what’s more, its all really cute and you are right in the Plaza de Armas! This was one of my best rental experiences ever because all of the thoughtful touches Ramon put into the apartment. He was great to work with and checked in with me from time to time to make sure that everything was alright . When I return to PR, I will stay here again. It really is a home away from home. P.S. If you are thinking about renting a car-don't, everything is short lovely walk away. If you are taking a tour outside of San Juan most companies will pick you up at Plaza Colon which is 4 blocks away. If you want to explore outside the city you can walk to the Sheraton Hotel and Casino and rent a car from there. Just try your best to avoid traveling during rush hours.

Great apartment

We had 3 wonderful weeks in Puerto Rico. The apartment was great and we felt like home. The air-conditioning in the bedroom was perfect, we could sleep excellent. The sleeping couch in the television room was also quite good. The kitchen is equipped perfectly. Once we had a problem with the water, Ramon helped us immediately. We also had the pleasure to meet him in person, he is a good person and does his job very profesional. Everything was organiced very well, he responded every email, gave us information about Puerto Rico and he even had good resaurant tips, too. After all it, was a great time and we would like to come back. By the way, the neighbours are also absolutely nice. Greetings to Coral, Victor. Thank you and greetings to Ramon

Old San Juan ('Viejo San Juan') is one of the oldest settlements in the Americas, it's origins dating back to the 16th century. It is located in the historic section of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The district is characterized by numerous public plazas. OSJ is the main attraction in PR for international and local tourism. The centuries-old El Morro Fort complex is just a few blocks away.

Location, Location, Location: Steps to markets, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, museums, historic sites, government offices, hotels, cruise ships, nightlife, pubs, discos, live theaters, ice cream parlors, jogging trails, tennis and basket courts, etc. The El Convento Hotel, and the Casino, a beautifully restored historic building, both of which are popular venues for weddings, are just a couple of blocks away. Watch from our balcony the free concerts or shows often offered in Plaza de Armas.

We are just 3 blocks away from the cruise port. Also, the bus terminal is a few blocks away. On-street parking is around the corner and there are several public garages nearby. HOWEVER, please note that OSJ is best enjoyed on foot, no car is needed to live and enjoy the comforts of this historic small city. There is also a free trolley within OSJ.

Parking: Old San Juan is best enjoyed by walking. Traffic could be slow, particularly during the day and in the Christmas season. However, if need be, there is limited on-street parking and several public parking garages with different rates. Also, there is a free trolley throughout OSJ and there are car rental companies located nearby at the OSJ Sheraton Hotel.
