The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Villa Gabriela is absolutely beautiful. This two story Villa falls nothing short of its photos. Huge bedrooms and spacious living areas. The staff was very attentive and happy to accommodate all our requests always with a smile. With something for everyone, golfing, swimming, spa, beach, we had a wonderful and relaxing vacation. My only complaint is that I gained 5lbs from all the delicious food and frozen drinks that were prepared for us.

A few important things to us didn't meet our expectations. 1. The Internet. It didn't work, we always have to log in. 2. The air conditioning : impossible to manipulate, we always have to ask the buttler to do it for us. 3. The noise : every morning we were woken out by the lawn mower of the golf course at 7:30 even on the Christmas day ! 4. The staff : just average. So many people for so little done ! The buttler was never at home, the cook, she was nice but not a cook as we may expect in a "5 stars house" as it is said on the Internet. 5. The golf car. Only one at the house, it was not enough even we were only 5 guests. The house can accomodate 12 people, how can they manage with one golf car ?
We just returned home from an incredible week at Villa Gabriela. Our group of 12 included 3 families each with 2 children (4 teens, 1 tween & 1 seven year old). Geraldine was fabulous to work with prior to our arrival answering many emails and questions.
The set up of our rooms was perfect. We had the teenage girls in the downstairs suite with 2 double beds (one chose to sleep on the pullout sofa). The teenage boy and 7 year old were upstairs in a king suite. The parents of 2 teens loved their private suite in the outer building and the two other sets of parents had the upstairs golf view king suites along the wraparound upper balcony.
We took Geraldine's advice and purchased liquor and champagne at the airport by baggage claim. Our luxury van as well as Alex met us and within 10 minutes we were driving through the gates of Arrecife 41. We had pre-ordered snacks, appetizers and drinks and all was prepared and presented on arrival. We also pre-arranged to have 3 golf carts for the week which was essential for our group.
The morning after our arrival Alex took a couple of us to the nearby supermarket and we stocked up for the week (spending about $100 per person). Alba's cooking was amazing! We had all breakfasts and 3 dinners prepared by her. We chose to have lunches and the rest of the dinners out. The resort restaurants are all easy golf cart rides.
Villa Blanca was a very nice experience and has beautiful scenery. We were glad it was the 1st restaurant we tried because it only got better as we went to the others. We had multiple meals at our favorite restaurant, La Yola. It's the farthest in distance but the atmosphere and food was fantastic. The nicest restaurant is Bamboo and we loved the ambience, especially the saxophone player strolling around the tables.
The best meals though were at the villa. Our appetizers were prepared and set out for us in the lounge areas. The tables (we ate outside only) were set beautifully and the dinner foods set upon the bar buffet style. For first meal Alba made mahi and chicken tacos with rice and beans. She also made a fabulous ceviche too. We also had wonderful steak and lobster dinners. After dinner the adults would stay outside and relax poolside and the children would go upstairs to play games (we brought our own WiiU and easily hooked it up) and watch movies. Alex was so wonderful by even taking popcorn up to them.
I've run out of space so more to come in a second review post!
Other highlights of the 5 star service at the Villa include having coffee prepared for us early each morning, fresh towels put out each morning poolside, full daily housekeeping, and turndown service each evening.
Things to know in your planning..There is wonderful free Wi-Fi at the Villa and at all resort facilities. There is a phone at the Villa that you can make unlimited calls to the US. These 2 things made the teens especially happy! I recommend making your meal and activity plans prior to your stay. Geraldine forwards all the info to Alex who can make the reservations for you. He arranged delivery of fresh fish and live lobsters. He also arranged and transported 3 masseuses to the Villa. The tables were set up on the upper balcony - It was heavenly! The only off property excursions we did were the Reef Explorer-Marinarium (30 min from Villa -highly recommended!) and Scape Park at Cap Cana (15 min from Villa). We did Zip Lining and the Cave Exploration there.
On one of our last nights we had Alex pack us up a picnic of appetizers and drinks. We took it to a 2 story thatched roof hut on the beach we had all to ourselves at sunset and after went on to LaYola for dinner...magical!
We went to the Westin a few times during the trip and enjoyed beach front lunches, the pool & hot tub. Water sport rentals are available there as well as on the beach between Tortuga Bay and the Ecological Reserve (which was a wonderful on-site excursion). Just a bit further is the Marina for boating/fishing excursions and LaYola restaurant. Closest to the Villa is the beachfront LaCana golf club, pool, grill, bar & spa.
There is not much nightlife at the resort. Tortuga Bay has a nice cigar lounge with a pool table and the Westin has a nice bar. We loved the laid back atmosphere and the resort not being crowded. We never had a problem getting beach or pool chairs, unlike our last Spring Break at the Waldorf Astoria in Puerto Rico.
Thank you Geraldine, Alex, Alba and Carmen for everything you did for us! I hope we are able to return someday soon!
We went to Punta Cana to enjoy a multi generational holiday week, the listing agent was professional and generous with her time and responses. we were told that there were 6 bedrooms but there were only 5. The 6th is a bedroom in the back of the kitchen for staff members. There were only 6 bathrooms we could use. They generously made several daybeds and pull out coaches in the public spaces into make shift bedrooms and indicated they would work for teenagers. the pull out sofas were not adult size beds because they were shorter in length than a typical pull out bed, they were a shorter futon type which would work for those less than five feet tall.
The bathrooms were nicely appointed but they didn't restock amenities such as bath gels/shampoo. There was a beautiful pool and the hot tub was not heated. we weren't able to use the pool/hot tub because it was too cold for us to enjoy. The staff is friendly and well intentioned but not professionally trained. they are a husband and wife and mother team and very nice but do not speak english. It was a struggle discussing dinner reservations, recipes ect. The first two days they couldn't turn down beds and get dinner started and served at the times we needed so they brought another person in to help facilitate turn down time. The staff doesn't pick up trash left behind like water bottles by the pool or organize any personal things like tennis racquets, golf club and shoes ect. Where you leave them they remain. Food was an issue , you can request whatever you want but they are not familiar with recipes or many American dishes . I had to go with them to the grocery store which i was not really keen on doing. They have a great seafood source that comes to the house which was our best option. for this service you need to pay cash. The house is situated very close to one of the main gates to the highway and therefore is not as quiet or remote as many other houses. it is also next to public bathrooms for one of the golf courses. On the sides of the house there is chain link fence and the there is no hammock by the pool. The trash is picked up and left just outside the metal gate and sadly there remained a sprinkling of litter the entire week we were there. There is no gym nearby the closest is the Westin hotel which is very small and a daily fee. the spa is a golf cart ride away and very nice and popular so you needed to make appts before you arrived .
What a fabulous family home! The rooms are large and beautifully decorated, and the finishes are wonderfully crafted. I came to Villa Gabriella to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family. Each morning brewed hot coffee and steamed milk were provided out by the pool as we lounged in the sun under the swaying palms. So delightful! We played billiards, took the golf cart to the beach club to lay out by the ocean and spent a wonderful carefree week pampered by the house staff who made a delicious breakfast every morning, and a flavorful meal at home if we weren't dining out. Altogether a restful, peaceful and lovely accommodation.
Villa Gabriela is located In the Arrecife neighborhood (the back nine of the 'La Cana' Golf Course) of the Puntacana Resort & Club. The resort features beachfront hotel accommodations, three miles of white-sand beach - the longest in the Caribbean, a beachfront clubhouse, water sports, horseback riding, tennis, nature reserve, children's activities and evening entertainment. The new Six Senses Spa, located in the clubhouse, is recognized as the number one spa chain in the world, with only 15 other exclusive properties throughout Europe and Asia.
