Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Ubud - Villa Agung Khalia
Villa, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 7-9)
Villa Agung Khalia is a palace-like villa with 3 air-conditioned bedrooms and a private pool set amongst terraced rice fields on the outskirts of Ubud. The villa can sleep up to 9 guests, but we also have two adjacent 3-bedroom villas and two studio suites, so we can accommodate from 2 to 31 guests with comfort and privacy.
This spacious villa complex offers the peace and tranquility of the 'real' Bali yet is less than 10 minutes drive from Ubud's cultural performances, shops, museums and gourmet restaurants. For a relaxing stay 'away from it all' enjoy a morning cup of coffee on your balcony as the sun lights up Gunung Agung, read a novel in your poolside gazebo, or explore the daily life of the Balinese in the nearby villages. For those wishing to stay connected you have free broadband wireless and satellite TV with international channels.
Each villa building has 3 bedrooms, all with air conditioning and private bathrooms. Additional day-beds are located in the upstairs reading area, and a half-bathroom is located next to the downstairs living room.
There is a full kitchen, an outside dining area for 4, and a traditional inside dining area for 6 to 8 guests. Pool towels and chaise lounge chairs are available poolside. There is air-con in the bedrooms, and there are overhead fans in every room. Our 24-hour staff are here to meet all of your vacation needs.
We give back to the community by supporting two Balinese school programs with over 400 children so that they can learn English absolutely free. We supply all the classroom materials, books, pens, and pay the salaries of the teachers.

We are geography teachers in California and we travel as much as we can along with our two young daughters. We fell in love with Bali while back-packing in the early 1990s and right away we knew we'd be back.
Laura purchased this villa in 2008
Why Laura chose Ubud
The views in this area are spectacular and the local people even more so!
What makes this villa unique
Relaxing, in the fresh morning air of the rice fields, watching Bali to come to life.

We had heard about them through a friend that knows the owner, a college professor in the USA that leads trips abroad. He built the villas in very traditional Balinese style and has made locals partners and managers, which allows the villas to both modern and traditional at the same time. The location is about 10 minutes driving outside Ubud situated in a fabulous rice field. You can also walk 45 minutes through the field if you are so inclined. It is very tranquil and traditional life proceeds all around the villas. There are several drivers on staff with regularly scheduled trips into town, as well as being able to go as needed. There are 3 villas on site, all 2 story and quite spacious. You can rent one or more villas or, we heard, you can even rent a floor if it is available. There are 2 pools on site, a pond with traditional Bale Bale in the middle, and a small restaurant for breakfast and snacks. The grounds are peaceful and would be a perfect group or yoga retreat. The villas have relationships with masseuses, healers, etc. and they will come on site. The staff is all local villagers and all wonderful. Be sure to talk with them about their village and culture – they are happy to share and even show you around. They know everything about Ubud and the environs to just tell them what you are interested in (art, dance, etc.) and they will know exactly where to go.The villas are fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The only issue might be the distance from Ubud, but that seems worked out with several cars and drivers at the ready so you end up getting access to town while getting to stay in a beautiful rural area.---RicDoc Santa Barbara, CA
