The 3,5 room-apartment is located on the 2nd floor and on a living area of 86m2 it has two bedrooms, 1 x double bed, 2 x single beds, bathroom (bath/shower/toilet), a spacious living-kitchen with dishwasher and coffee machine and a very bright living room. Large balcony with fantastic view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. radio/satellite-TV, free internet (Wi-Fi).

You have a splendid view of the surrounding mountain world. The next bus stop is located very nearby and the town centre and railway station can be reached in 5 minutes by walk.

About Mariella Vacilotto

We're a fifty-plus couple who live near Basel and love to ski. In the summer, we go hiking in the mountains with our dog and sometimes also with our children.

Why Mariella Vacilotto chose Grindelwald

With this apartment, it was love at first site for us. One week during of winter vacation, we were told that it was for sale. We didn't second-guess ourselves.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment enjoys a great location, near the Ski-Bus stop, located by the schoolhouse in a cul-de-sac, 100m away. Buses leave in both directions, either towards Firstbahn or Männlichen. The train also goes to Kleine Scheidegg. The town centre is a few minutes' walk away, where you can go shopping or just relax.

The beautiful spacious balcony terrace has a view over the ski region.

Finally, we always love staying there.

Great position, well-appointed and top views.

Grindelwald is a winter wonderland and Breithorn is wonderful apartment for enjoying all that the Jungfrau area has to offer. The apartment is spacious and well equipped with everything that is needed for a comfortable stay and the views from every room are breath-taking. We were travelling from Australia and found the online booking process to be straightforward. The photos on the website accurately depict the quality of the furnishings and the apartment is presented in an impeccable manner. We found Mariella to be more that helpful in answering our many questions and providing us with useful links to assist us in planning our trip. Breithorn is well located with a bus stop nearby and only a short walk to the centre of town and the main bus station for accessing the ski lifts. We would rate this property very highly and would recommend it as suitable for families or two couples wanting to share. If we are lucky enough to manage a future ski trip to Grindelwald, we will look no further than Breithorn for a lovely home away from home!

Spacious & Modern with a Stupendous View

- The apartment is open and airy with many windows in its living area that showcase the mountains.

- Everything is clean and modern--a nice break from small hotel rooms.

- The kitchen is well-stocked with what most casual cooks--like ourselves--need to make simple meals.

- The local Coop grocery is a short (if uphill) walk and offers all the food one needs for a short stay (they even had a few vegetarian dinner items like mushroom pizzas and veggie spring rolls).

- The lift and train stations are also within walking distance.

- The owner and property manager are friendly and excellent with communication.

- While we had initially planned to stay in Interlaken, we were glad we stayed in Grindelwald and, specifically, this apartment; Grindelwald is much quieter and less touristy-commercial than is Interlaken and offers a good glimpse into rural Swiss life (because the apartment's situated on one side of a valley, you can see the houses and roads on the other side of the valley and observe the daily machinations of the village).

- Our one suggestion is to brighten the main entry downstairs of the chalet--perhaps automatic lighting and a little decor would help new arrivals feel like they're in the right place.

- We felt this apartment was fairly priced and very comfortable and would recommend it to others.

Superb, bright apartment with Eiger view

My husband and I stayed in Breithorn apartment for a week. Very well appointed, clean and comfortable. Less than 5 mins (steep uphill!) walk to middle of Grindelwald, the supermarket, and the railway and bus stations, but very quiet. All arrangements by Mariella were clear and prompt, and Diarmuid's welcome visit was timely and helpful. Mattresses very comfortable, and feather pillows were especially good. Bathroom and kitchen new and well equipped. Good balcony furniture. We ate in most evenings, appreciating the amazing views of the Eiger at different times of the day. Dedicated car parking space (covered) welcome. Would definitely recommend and revisit. A fantastic place.

Beautiful apartment, incredible views

We had an incredible holiday at Breithorn. The apartment is beautifully clean and decorated, and had everything that we needed, including great little touches like a Nespresso machine with lots of pods available. The apartment is in a quiet area about five minutes walk from the main town, where you will find a grocery store, cafés, sports centre, and everything else you need. It offers private parking, but we didn't use our car all week, given the exceptional Swiss public transport available. The most incredible part, of course, is the view from the terrace. The photos just can't do this justice. Mariella was very professional and efficient in all of our communications, and property manager D went out of his way to welcome us and describe some family friendly walks to us. We are all missing the mountain air, peace and quiet, and can't wait to come back to Grindelwald and the Breithorn apartment. Thanks for a great trip!

Wonderful apartment

A lovely apartment with a beautiful view towards the Eiger. It was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The owner, Mariella, was well organised and helped to simplify the booking process. Once there Diarmuid, the property manger, was most helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Un très bel appartement!

Nous avons passé deux semaines très agréables à Grindelwald (où nous étions pour la huitième fois), malgré un temps pluvieux et une fracture de vertèbre pour l'un de nous deux. Le Breithorn, proche du centre du village, est un très bel appartement, au calme, lumineux et très joliment meublé et décoré, sans conteste le plus beau que nous ayons jamais loué. Le salon et la salle à manger sont spacieux, clairs et harmonieux. La cuisine est vaste et très bien équipée. La grande chambre que nous avons occupée et son lit sont confortables. La salle de bain, rénovée, est parfaite. Tout y est très propre et en très bon état. En outre, la vue du balcon sur l'Eiger et le Lauberhorn est simplement magnifique! Les couchers de soleil sont merveilleux. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié la gentillesse de Mariella, la propriétaire, tout au long de la correspondance que nous avons eue avec elle, ainsi que la serviabilité de D, en particulier, et de son équipe. Nous espérons très sincèrement pouvoir revenir au Breithorn l'an prochain, et reprendre nos habituelles randonnées.
