For the house 1 'Das kleine Haus / Lille Huset“
In 2005 this luxurious home was built and refurbished in Scandinavian style in 2012. There is electric under floor heating that serves you in the living rooms and bedrooms, as well as the bathrooms and toilets. In addition, electric wall radiators are installed. Internet access is available via LAN / Wi-Fi. TV and radio network of Danish and German channels is provided. The living area measures 124 m². 'Lille Huset' is located nestling on the slope of a romantic rock garden and extends over 3 floors. The bottommost opens up to the garden as ground floor, seen from the roadside it is located in the basement. Here the master bedroom has direct access to the garden and the sea. Additionally a comfortable bathroom with bath and hand shower, double wash basin and toilet, electric under floor heating and heated towel rail. Walk-in closet, in the hallway in front of the bathroom and bedroom washer and dryer. On the ground floor is the living/dining room and kitchen. In the living area you look through a large picture window in to the garden and the sea at your feet. Here there is television and radio corner and comfortable upholstered furniture. A fireplace gives cosy fire when the evening chill demands - The dining area adjoins towards the house entrance and overlooks the huge terrace to the west and the rock garden. This elevated wooden terrace invites you for sunbathing and breakfast, lunch or dinner under the open sky. The comfortable kitchen is equipped with induction stove, oven and microwave, fridge with freezer and dishwasher, coffee maker. From the entrance hallway there is a descent towards the bedroom level, near the entrance door there is a guest toilet - You can reach the first floor from the dining area via a free staircase. Up here, your guests or your children can sleep. The small guest room in the attic is very cosy, right next door there's a guest bathroom with shower and toilet - Magnificent garden with mature trees - Please note that the house is only conditionally suitable for small children and pets are not allowed.
For the house 2 'Die alte Butik / Den gamle Butik'
In 1997 the house (built in 1904) was completely renovated and isolated. Then the interior remodeling done in 2003 brought it to the present condition. This cosy house with wooden floorboards is heated by oil-powered central heating. A wooden furnace is also available. Hot water is supplied by a separate electric boiler. The living area has nearly 120 square meters. Downstairs we have a lounge area with sofas, fireplace, integrated dining and chic modern fitted kitchen - electric stove / oven / steam outlet, sink, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, dishes, pots, etc - A private exit takes you to the beautiful garden. Other than that there is a bedroom on the ground floor with double bed and another one with a single bed (in addition a crib can be placed) - A ladder to get to the loft, an open mezzanine, with two more beds, for example, for children - The big new bathroom in the ground floor has a shower, wash basin for 2 persons, toilet, washing machine, electric towel rail and under floor heating - From the living room on the ground floor there is a staircase to the gallery, the actual living area, equipped with upholstered furniture and satellite colour TV. The large window with panoramic view of the sea is just the threshold to the large terrace: here you have sun literally all through the day - from dawn - till - dusk. This terrace on the roof of the rear building has a view over the garden and sea, which is unbeatable!
For the house 3 “Schwalbennest / Svalereden
In the cross wing of the old farmhouse is the comfortable apartment 'Svalereden', or 'Swallow's nest'. You enter in to the apartment from the entrance courtyard filled with flowers through a hallway with vestibule. To the right it leads into the spacious living-dining area. Immediately you will meet the comfortable fitted kitchen with induction stove, microwave, oven, dishwasher and fridge with freezer. In front of it is the round dining table with four cane armchairs and invites you to wine and dine. The table can be extended to a maximum of 8 persons. In the same room the living area opens sideways out to the sea with comfortable armchairs and sofa, from here you have a wonderful panoramic view over the garden and sea similar to the balcony in front. A staircase for direct access to the outside terrace and huge garden was newly set up. Flat-screen TV and radio via satellite allow the reception of Danish and German channels. Three bedrooms are there for you. The master bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobe also has a large window facing the sea side (east) similar to the adjacent smaller room, which also has space for two beds and has a fitted wardrobe. A smaller bedroom faces west, has room for a bed and fitted wardrobe. The bathroom has a bath tub with hand shower, toilet and sink. Heating and hot water supply come through an oil-powered central heating in the basement. In front of the apartment in the entrance courtyard a sun-shined sitting area with white garden furniture invites you for afternoon coffee.
For Apartment 1 “Der grosse Klaus / Store Klaus” (1st floor)
The living area of the apartment 4 on the 1st floor of the main building is around 114 m2. There are 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen. The apartment opens out to the sea and garden and also to the entrance courtyard towards east, south and west. - The first room ('Des Kaisers neue Kleider') is kept in shining bright tones and directly looks over the sea across the garden, two windows and a French balcony open the view to the sea. Another window and a French balcony face the garden to the southeast and to the evening sun towards west. The comfortable furniture invites you to read and chat or for evening television. Especially convenient here is the bathroom with tub and separate shower, large vanity and toilet - The second room ('Feuerzeug'), a friendly, bright double bedroom , faces south-east to the garden. Through two French balcony doors and a window you have a beautiful view of the garden with century-old mulberry tree and a view of the sea sideways. The comfortable cane furniture cushions make the evening comfortable for the evening television crime drama or a nice book. The large bathroom has a shower cabin - The third room ('Der standhafte Zinnsoldat') is a very cosy double bedroom to the west, looking through three windows in to the cosy, flowery entrance courtyard of the U-shaped building complex. Both the beds in the room niche can be placed separately or together. Soft upholstered furniture invites you to relax. In the bathroom we have a shower - Located right next to the room is a comfortable fitted kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, fridge / freezer and built-in wardrobes. Electric floor heating, hot water supply from our own electric water heater in the basement.
For Apartment 2 'Der kleine Klaus / Lille Klaus' (2nd floor)
Apartment 5 sits under cosy, rustic roof slopes in the second floor of the main house. The two rooms with their bathrooms and small kitchen are combined into one unit. The living area of this apartment on the 2nd floor is about 90 m² - The first room - a luxurious junior suite, ' Die Prinzessin auf der Erbse' - is decorated in Scandinavian bright colours and offers you luxury and every comfort. On top of the old oak floorboards there are beautiful oriental rugs. From the armchairs at the small table or from a rustic softwood bed you can look through the large picture window across the garden to the Baltic Sea at your feet. Through the open ceiling beams you look in to the roof structure, and on a 'loft', a mezzanine, there is an extra bed. You can climb up through the ladder. For children, for instance, it is pure adventure! Heating is done not only through the electric heater but also through a cosy wooden stove. In the bathroom (skylight window) there is a bathtub with hand-held or standing shower, large vanity and toilet. A separate small kitchen with hotplates, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and a small seating corner allows you to prepare and eat your meals - The second room ('Die wilden Schwäne' ) is a very comfortable spacious double bedroom in the attic with open roof beams. A dormer window provides a beautiful view to the southeast across the garden and lateral sea view. Outside the window to the southwest, geraniums bloom in the flower box. The bathroom includes a tub with hand cum standing shower. Also in this double bedroom is the 'loft' with 2 extra beds.

Dr. Manfred and Gertrude Richter-Reichhelm
Since 1976 we are enthusiastic Bornholmers. A holiday trip to this beautiful island has enchanted us. Time and again we have travelled to Bornholm, and when in 1997 the opportunity arose to take over the old family pension Bølshavn, we didn’t take much time to think.We, that is:
Gertrude Richter-Reichhelm is a Danish lady (born in Aarhus), has been living in Berlin since 1965 and speaks of course both languages - Danish, and German - perfectly. When the three children were grown up, she has distinguished herself as a 'Doll Doctor' and ambitious collector of old German character dolls, and you will notice that today in the ambience of the house. Since 1997, she is the patron of the pension Bølshavn and makes a perfect hostess for a homely atmosphere in your holiday home.
Dr. Manfred Richter-Reichhelm, her husband, is a doctor, had as a urologist with a partner, a doctor’s office in Berlin and was active for many years in healthcare policy. Now retired, he has moved his centre of life to Bornholm during summer months. And carries out other popular work here: Hotel management, garden maintenance and on special occasions - cooking and baking.
We are not aware of a more beautiful location than the Aparthotel Bølshavn 9! This wonderfully located property was at the beginning of the last century, originally a farmhouse, built in the typical U-shape of the three buildings. It was later converted into a pension with many small rooms, and after acquisition, we first renovated each year floor by floor and made 5 rooms out of all 17 rooms : convenience and comfort and above all personal individual attention, that was and is our motto.
Later, the old barn additionally became a holiday home (Die alte Butik), and in 2005 a new building, 'Das kleine Haus'. The recent change was in 2012: either the three or two rooms in each of the two floors of the hotel are individually rented or floor wise as a holiday domicile, which has its own kitchen. The restaurant was closed and made as our manager’s apartment. Likewise our old apartment was free and was made as a holiday apartment 'Swallow's nest'.
And thus, from the original 'Pension Bølshavn ' emerged the present 'Aparthotel Bølshavn 9'.
What makes this holiday complex distinctive is the indescribably beautiful location with the gentle slope to the Baltic Sea, just opposite to Christiansø. The park-like garden, the old trees, especially our more than one hundred year old mulberry tree (our logo), the peace and the spacious expanse of the plot: that makes Bølshavn 9 as one of the most beautiful properties of Bornholm. Many of our guests sit with a book on a deck chair in the garden and enjoy the sun and peace. Here there is no hustle and bustle, here you can 'let your souls dangle'.
