Located on the bluff with amazing views of the Long Island Sound around the year - This is our Waterfront Heaven.

Set in a quiet neighborhood, the house is located on the bluff, about 85 feet above sea level.

The house is facing the sea and the views are breathtaking.

Conveniently located only about 1:20 min drive (60 miles) from Manhattan. 25 min. from the Hampton crowd. Weather you're coming to visit family in the area, attending a wedding / event at Inn & Spa East Wind Long Island (15 min. drive), Going on Vineyard Tour in the North Fork Wineries (20-30 min. drive) or simply want to enjoy the beach and the views, our house offers the perfect setting.

The beach in our town, along the north shore of long island, is one of the cleanest and most beautiful in the area. It is stretches for miles with no interruptions - true heaven for nature, sea life and birds. Views and scenery is beautiful around the entire year. Fishing, kayaking (FREE use of our double seat kayak!), sailing, surfing, swimming, bird watching, fly your kites....visit the nearby Wineries and Farms and much more. Watch the seals, cook in a fully equipped kitchen, watch movies / YouTube / play games on our Smart TV and warm up by the fireplace in the winter....or just relax with a good book. Wake up and fall asleep with the sound of the waves.

The Architect / Owner has renovated the house in 2007 and added a new house addition in 2014, separated by a door at the lower level common wall between the this rental unit and the adjacent one (complete privacy is provided between the two units). This rental unit has a very functional open floor plan on the main entry level and another full level below it.

The Living / Dining / Kitchen spaces are all on the main entry floor, opening up to a deck which wraps around the house - all facing the sea. The house interior is simply and beautifully decorated with clean and simple lines, still keeping the space airy and cozy.

The house includes 3 Bedrooms: Sleeps 6 - 8 Adults, a child and a baby; If requested, additional Queen size blown-up mattress provided.

Lower Level opens to a wooden deck and a sun tanning deck and a yard facing the sea.

Large Living room with a Fireplace which faces also the Master bedroom.

1 master bedroom w/ a Queen size Bed, Walk-in closet, 1 Full bathroom, Laundry & Utility room.

Upper Level (entry level) opens to an exterior wrap around deck which is facing the sea and includes: Living room w/ a Fireplace. Dining Area, Kitchen with island, 1 Full bathroom, 1 Guest room w/ a Queen size Bed, 1 kids room w/ a Crib, child bed and a full size Futon, Swing set for kids at front yard, Walk-down to a private beach in a walking distance.

Best View!

"Wow!" and "What a view!" are the first words from all of us as we walked into this house. The expansive view of the Sound from every room and from the large deck is spectacular.

We've been renting vacation homes every Summer and Winter for the past ten years and this house has the best view by far. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the water everyday was truly magical.

The house is spacious and compfortable, and has everything you could need for cooking, games, a ping pong table, a play yard for children with a slide and swings, TV, BBQ grill, and lots of towels.

The beach is less than a block away, and although it's the pebbley type, we enjoyed swimming and the fact that there were no crowds. We also rented a Kayak from the house and that was a winner.

The house is in a very quiet and friendly residental area. At night, you will only hear the waves and crickets. Forget about traffic sounds, car radios, and a loud party next door, you can really relax here.

Shay was very helpful throughout our stay there. He made sure that we felt at home and always promptly replied to our requests and questions. (Thanks for making our family get- together such a great time and rejuvenating all of us on this vacation.)

We plan to return!!!

THIS IS WHAT MY BEACH HOUSE WOULD LOOK LIKE…

Four top things about this house: (1) DREAMY SEA VIEWS. spectacular, breathtaking view - watching the sea through the windows while you cook or right in front of you sitting outside is priceless. The owners put in speakers in the outside deck, so you can listen to music while watching the sunset outside / cook on the grill. (2) FAMILY FRIENDLY. a nice room for the kids with toys included too, so you don’t even have to bring your own, they can discover what is there, and there is a crib, a small bed and a futon in the kids room. Our younger one really liked the swings & slides in the yard which is right next to the garage, kept him busy going up and down the slide. there is a garden and deck overlooking the view in the first level, so also a nice place to have some privacy from the family if you are traveling with a bigger group (we took my parents and they stayed in the upper level with the kids, we stayed downstairs). (3) TWO FIREPLACES. There are several dimensions to the house and ambiances: (i) upstairs in the kitchen/ living room area, there is a fireplace which we found very nice to use while we were cooking/ having dinner/ hanging out in the living room; (ii) downstairs in the play room which has another living room (with a comfy sofa), a flat screen/ smart tv including netflix and even a ping pong table, there is another fireplace, which actually sits in a wall right between the play room and the main guestroom – so you also have a fireplace in your room. (4) THE BOOK COLLECTION. great books all over the house – lots related to art, architecture, and travel, but also interesting and random books including an entire Hebrew collection for those that can read it, and a few in Spanish too. Very diverse.…

I travel frequently for business so really appreciate the comfort, so to speak, of vacationing at a place that feels like your own home. The owners have put a lot of love into the place, and it really feels like you are staying at a good friend´s house rather than renting a place. It is well kept, even has a little garden in the back with herbs that you can use to cook and a swing set with a slide which was great for the kids. The owners just built a house next door so I guess that helps them keep the property in top shape. They have great taste in decoration, too – a lot of character and most importantly for me, very homey.

Only downside I saw were the bathrooms – very simple, and the master bedro

Great view, but overall experience could have been better

Stayed here for a low key bachelorette and it was just what we needed, but there were some things that could have been better:

-Very difficult to get into the house. Door/lock is very jammed.

-because of this, we left the door unlocked when we were out for a few hours...and came back to it locked. This made is uncomfortable as our personal belongings were in the house, but the owner obviously was checking in on us.

-Owner was always around as they were working on a (separate) extension of the house. This would have been fine if the people sleeping in the basement didn't have to sleep through a bright light coming through the basement door at 1am. Owner never said hi nor asked how everything was.

-Felt pretty unclean and very lived in. Paid a mandatory cleaning fee and was still asked to clean and strip beds before departure. Little available linens and the tiki torches didn't work.

-ZERO cell service for AT&T and Verizon.

-Beach was nice, but felt like intruders as it's very community based

-Downstairs shower was only cold and not usable

Other than that, Shay was professional through email and was quick to return the deposit.

Owner's Response: Sorry for any inconvenience. We just recently completed the construction of a new house addition adjacent to the house and during the construction period (which has been completed since), dust made its way into the house. Unfortunately None of the above issues were brought to our attention during or after this group stay. Just checked shower downstairs and it is working perfectly with hot and cold water. We also have outdoor shower with hot and cold water (if this is the one referred to - we just used it as well and is in perfect condition). Not sure about the lock problem - checked as well with renters that came in after this group and with maintenance person - they didn't have a problem. If issue repeat we will replace the lock - we want to make sure that everyone feels safe and secure. Yes, sometimes the cell phone reception is weak (AT&T is actually better than the others), but this is beyond our control. We do provide and allow our guests to use our Skype phone in the house at no charge. The beach is indeed very private and is community based, but everyone is friendly and welcoming. During the guests stay I am usually not around, but the maintenance person is. If I am, I try to let the renter keep their privacy, not to intrude. If there is ANY issue that arises during your stay, myself or the maintenance person will always get back to you to address it in a timely manner. Always more than happy to introduce myself. Please bring up issues as soon as they appear / arise so that we could make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. All the best, Shay

Perfect view and perfectly equipped for small kids

We had a 10 day family vacation in this house and the whole setting was really perfect. The house is fully equipped including toys, which is especially great for smaller children. There is even slide and a swing in the garden.

While there is no direct beach access, the beach is easy and fast to reach.

The house was clean and well maintained, so the photos here on the page really reflect the current state.

Shay was very helpful and professional in the whole communication.

I can only recommend staying here.

Nice View but Lacking Otherwise

Working with the owner, Shay, was wonderful. He was quick and responsive to questions and requests. Return of security deposit was seamless.

This house in Sound Beach provides a great view from the upper and lower deck. The outdoor grill was fantastic. Location is within a residential neighboring and the nearest store was 15 minutes away. The house has ample room to roam. I've given 4 stars but would rate this property as a 3.5 stars. As the owner was great to work with, I do regret to report a number of things that I think can be improved, but I must be honest in review as I wish the following was known prior to booking:

1 - There is only one TV, an older model, located in the entirety of the property located downstairs. There is no cable service.

2 - The decks had seen better days. Needs to be re-finished.

3 - Linens and towels were subpar (old and pilling).

4 - The playground/front garden is overgrown.

5 - There is construction going on next door (adjacent to the house). On weekdays the work crew next door literally parked on the property's driveway.

6 - Though the house was not dirty, the property can use a good deep cleaning. I didn't feel that we were staying at a rental property, but more like someone's summer home.

7 - Upon departure, owner require renter to strip all beds and sweep/vacuum/swiffer floors.

8 - The private beach is a 5 minute walk away and frankly, i didn't think it was well maintained.

All of above would had been fine but at the price point ($400+ per night), I felt that the value was not there. Though we enjoyed ourselves during our stay, my expectations were not met.

Owner's Response: This is surprising and we regret that no one have brought any of the issues to the Owner during or after the guest's rental. 1 - We are aware of this and will respond to it shortly. A flat screen TV is in process of installation in the family room. We do not provide TV in every single room. We as well as most of our guests don't use the TV at all. Computers / iPads and others are used to watch movies online with the usage of our WiFi. Cable TV service is not provided and is noted on our web-page. If one does want to watch TV, there are about 12 TV channels received through a digital receiver. 2 - The deck is scheduled to receive a power-wash treatment this year to make it more attractive. 3 - Linens & Towels are NOT old at all. We continuously purchasing and replacing towels. Linens are replaced also regularly and ALL Linens are new or less than 2 years old. Maybe older towels that needed to be thrown away were not thrown, but the house have more than enough new towels for 8 adults and 2 kids. Simply choose the towels that you prefer to use. 4 - Both front and back yards are groomed regularly and taken care of. The renter arrived at a point in time before regular landscape maintenance started this season. 5 - Next door construction is to be completed this month (06/2014). We have added another addition to the property to provided upgraded accommodations to our guests. 95% of the work was completed (We regret if some of the parking was taken by the construction crew that completed some work inside the new addition). 6 - Although this is indeed our summer home, the property is cleaned regularly. If there was / is any issue with cleaning, it was not brought to our attention. The house is located right next to the beach and its only natural that some sand would find its way in. 7 - Correct - We request guests to only pile up towels and linens on the floor, not leave dirty dishes and to broom clean before departure. We do not expect guests to leave the house completely careless behind them. 8 - This is a personal feel. The Sound Beach Property Owners Association is considered to be one of the best in the area with regards to beach maintenance and care. In the future we are considering adding stairs from the property directly down to the beach for shorter access. As other guests noted and as we can see by comparison, the accommodation value received for the rates and fees exceeds all and any other optional accommodations in our area.

Amazing Long Weekend

My fiance and I rented this house along with a few other couples and had an amazing long weekend. Shay was wonderful to work with and was more than accommodating. There are three bedrooms, one has a futon bed, but was still very comfortable. We were worried because we had a fourth couple for two nights, but, because the house is so big, they had their own space downstairs in the living room. The house comes with passes to a private beach shared by the community, just a minute walk from the house. You will only encounter a few people, which makes for a very relaxing beach day. The best feature of the house by far is the huge deck, which overlooks the expansive Sound. We spent every evening on the deck as their are the most amazing sunsets over the water in the summer.

This house is made for people that want to go to the beach, hang out with friends, and cook. It is close to Port Jefferson, but there are no shops, bars, restaurants in walking distance... it is definitely in a residential neighborhood. That being said, you won't want to leave as the house and beach provide everything you need. I would even rent this property during the fall or winter as it is very cozy and has many fireplaces. For those looking for an extremely relaxing stay with friends or family, this is the property for you.
