'Casa Velha Escola' was, as its name suggests, the old school of the village of Loreto.
Loreto is famous for its many regional festivals with flower-covered roads and grilled over an open fire skewers 'Espedata' a specialty of the island of Madeira.
The building was adapted in 2010 as a holiday home and renovated with great attention to detail.
It was thus possible that bring flair of the old stone house with a modern design and contemporary technology in harmony.

The house is situated in a quiet location, only 1 minute walk from the center with a bar, cafe, pizzeria / Italian restaurant, mini market / bakery, bank, and taxi rank. Depending on the catch will be offered in the morning fresh fish from local fishermen. Only about 7 minutes drive to the main town of Calheta is with 'Calheta Beach' the most beautiful beach of the island, a supermarket, restaurants, seafood restaurants and a promenade with bars, shops and the opportunity for boat trips with whale watching along the stunning south coast of Madeira.

Ideal is 'Casa Velha Escola' for hiking, the trail crosses the road next Levada to Paul da Serra plateau about 1 km above the house and is also within walking distance in a short time. The plateau itself is reached as the starting point for numerous excursions by car in about 10 minutes. Next on beacon and Ribeira da Janela the road through laurel forests to Porto Moniz, the most northwestern point of Madeira. From here continue along the old road to the lighthouse of Ponta Pargo's westernmost point. From here, a new highway along the places Faja da Ovelha Prazeres and leads back to Calheta.
