Spacious, elegant villa formerly the home of the entrepreneur who built the Grand Hotel of Bormes les Mimosas, one of the most beautiful villages on the Cote D'Azur. The villa occupies a privileged position, set above the main village square, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean, even the parking area has beautiful views. Impressive accommodation, spacious, high ceilings, large windows and balconies. A charming winding garden path leads to direct to the village square with its bars and restaurants and weekly farmer's market. Orangerie was built around 1900 in the garden of the Old Chateau and enclosed by the ramparts of the medieval castle. The current owners have restored its botanical garden to its former glory. The accommodation occupies the entire upper floor of the villa ( approximately 1800 sq ft). It is completely self contained and every room has a commanding view of the Mediterreanean (3 kms) and surrounding countryside. Includes 3 balconies and a furnished paved terrace with beautiful view beyond the village to the sea. Sympathetically renovated in 2008 and furnished with antiques and hand knotted rugs. Fully equipped to a high standard with central heating for winter lets, wifi for laptop owners and High definition satellite TV. Accommodation and situation literally breath-taking.
L'Orangerie is situated in the heart of the old village, yet its privacy is assured by its beautiful spacious wooded grounds. It has its own private access, Chemin de L'Orangerie, with automatic gates. From the house, a charming garden path takes you within 2 minutes to the main square of the village with its shops, cafes and restaurants.
Important : There is ample private parking @ L'Orangerie. Bormes les Mimosas is a beautiful medieval village of exquisite but narrow winding streets many not accessible by car. Our prices include safe and secure parking behind automatic gates. Guests are provided with the electronic clicker for the gates.

We first discovered Bormes Les Mimosa in the late 1990s when we rented the Old Chateau for a family holiday. We kept coming back, renting the same place until finally, when offered the opportunity to purchase what some people have described as the most beautiful villa and the most exquisite garden in Bormes, we bought a home here. The Villa was built around 1900 by the same person who went on to build the Grand Hotel which literally next door. Our extensive gardens which had originally belonged to the Old Chateau, now became a botanical paradise for the hotel guests in the early 20th century. When the hotel was sold by the then proprietor of L' Orangerie, he retained the gardens for private use. We have been restoring the gardenssince 2007, reconstructing the paths, the stone walls and escaliers, clearing and replenishing the flower beds. hard work but a labour of love.

We chose Bormes because it is a beautiful village and, and as for our house, we literally we literally fell in love with it. It is a handsome period structure with spacious grounds which are tranquill & private and yet only minutes walk to the heart of the old village which has great restaurants, interesting shops, galleries and incredibly beautiful little streets and gardens. It is a place to enjoy not just in the summer season but all through the year and we wanted to live in the heart of the old village where we could walk to everything, get to know people and not have to use a car all the time.

The appartment has three large bedrooms and a large livingroom so very good for a family with 2 teenagers like us. Parking next to the house is great and the view from the terrace is stunning, overlooking Bormes les Mimosas, La Faviere, the Mediteranean as well as the islands. The owners who live downstairs are very kind and helpful, often busy in their beautiful botanical garden. Just 3 km from the seaside and a lovely quiet place to come back to after a visit to the the busy boulevards and beaches.
For once the holiday property lived up to its photos on the website! Beautiful views worthy of any Impressionist painting. The rooms were attractively furnished and the kitchen well equipped. The owners were on site and gave us very useful tips to help us enjoy the nearby beaches and markets. We would definately go back again , with or without the 20-something family!
Our vacation to the South of France was just what we needed and more than we hoped for! The property description, location and photos provided in the listing reflected the condition and the appearance of the home accurately. Absolutely no surprises, which is rare and very appreciated after a very long car journey! The owners made us fell most welcome from the moment we arrived, providing us with local information that took all the guess work out of what to do for the week. You could find some different and amazing things to do every day from this location! Or spend your week as we did, planning a couple of big day trips, relaxing at the beach each afternoon until closing, no real agenda, and exploring the village center at our leisure. We are a family of 5 (ages of children from 5-12) and it was quite honestly the best vacation we have been on in some time! We ate in for 3 meals a day, most of the week, and found the kitchen to be fully equipped and modern. The property was comfortable, spacious,and there are oceans views from every bedroom window and the living room. The house is full of charm and the gardens lovely! We also had our golden retriever with us who became fast friends with owners dog and was treated to amazing morning walks on nearby paths! I would highly recommend this property to friends and family and hope to get there again soon.
The rental unit is the second floor of a beautiful house, with a private entrance. It's charming and nicely decorated. It has a fantastic view (from each room!) of the valley and the sea.
The town is charming, although a bit touristy (mainly French tourists, I think). The sea is about five miles away. You definitely need a car to stay here.
There are lots of nice beaches, but we especially like St. Clair.
It's about two hours to Nice and about 1.5 hours to Marseille and Aix.
The owners are very nice, with lots of excellent advice.
This was my fourth visit to Bormes-Les-Mimosas but it was the best ever. The house and gardens were just spectacular...not to mention the views of the sea from all rooms except the kitchen and baths. I wish we could have stayed longer and we are already planning our next trip, this time for perhaps two weeks to a month.
It is difficult to describe just how much we loved this location. The villa is charming, the views are breath-taking, and we loved using this as a focal point for discovering this part of France. We had everything we needed and more... three large bedrooms and wonderful sitting room with views of the Mediterranean, very functional kitchen, and hosts that went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The village of Bormes-les-Mimosas is beautiful. There are flowers everywhere, charming shops, terrific restaurants, and places of interest all within walking distance. As much as we loved driving to other locations in the area, we enjoyed coming back to our home base even more.
Bormes Les Mimosa is a Gardener's Paradise. The village has a special micro-climate hospitable to many rare and exotic plants. Learn French in Bormes Les Mimosa: Individual or group lessons can be arrange din a friendly and supportive environment. Wine tasting and Good Eating - Visit a dozen or more local vineyards and farmers' markets to taste the local cheeses, olives, figs and regional delicacies. Beautiful beaches are within 3-4 kilometres and there are lovely walks directly from the house or along a beautiful coastal path.
