Perfect location; A+ service; very roomy apartment
We had a fabulous week staying at the Athena apartment on Rue Jacob. We had 6 people, 4 adults and two children ages 11 and 12, sleep very comfortably. The bathrooms and kitchen were modern by Paris standards; the dining room and living area were ample for the 6 of us, and the extra sitting area in one of the bedrooms was a bonus with large flat screen TV with cable and DVD player. The beds were comfortable; there were plenty of linens and extra pillows and plenty of closet space. The one thing you must remember is that you must walk through the large double bedroom to get to the single bedroom, making it perfect for a family member but maybe not for acquaintances traveling together. The terrace was lovely, and while it was a little chilly the first few days given it is shaded, it was nice on warmer days to sit and read or have breakfast. The best part of the apartment is its location - it is walking distance to just about everything you want to see in Paris...Louvre, Notre Dame, St. Michel, Rue de Rivoli, St. Germain dining and shopping. We even walked to the Eiffel Tower, which was only about 3 km. There are numerous cafes, restaurants, markets, patisseries and great shopping all within blocks of the apartment and you are two -three blocks from the St. Germain de Pres metro station. We enjoyed great meals at Pub St. Germain in a quaint courtyard on rue Ancienne Comédie and Le Bonaparte Cafe, right across from the St. Germain church. Le Conti was great for a quick bite as well as the Cesar Etoile italian restaurant for pizza or pasta. Glace and macaroons at Amorino were the best every night! Finally, Vincent Erhard from the rental office was the best host and we enjoyed getting to know him while he practiced his english and we our french. You will not be disappointed staying at Athena!
