Finca Sambal exists of a detached Manor House in a colonial style, called SAFRAN, and an additional house containing the duplex halves MANGO and PAPAYA.

SAFRAN with its 160 sqm living space is a dream out of 1001 Nights. Enter the house through a corridor in a rainbow of colours from all shades of blue to red. There is a green bedroom and an orange one, not only painted but glazed by the land lady in week long efforts.

The bathroom is a dream in natural stone with a marble shower and an extra whirl tub. Take a look at the photographs - the whole description would fill pages.

Directions: From the airport follow the signage to LOS LLANOS, the street (LP 1) leads you upwards through a tunnel to the other side of the mountains. From there the street leads you to EL PASO (beware of a speed camera at the 'Centro de Visitantes'). In El Paso turn right a the first traffic light until appr. 100 meter to the next traffic light, where you turn right again into the one way street 'Calle Manuel Tano'. Follow this street upwards and straight until a narrow crossing of the street 'Calle San Antonio', turn here right again and immediately left into the street 'Calle Acerjo'. The second house on the right hand side is the Finca Sambal (blue and purple), after 5 meters a path is sloping down to the parking lot.

Finca Sambal is centrally located on the sunny western side of the Island with spectacular views of the mountains of the Cumbre (the ridge, that divides La Palma into the eastern and western sides) and across the Valley of Aridane. The centre of El Paso is in walking distance (10 minutes), the Finca lies on the outskirts in a calm side street.

This small holiday resort exists of two houses, the old colonial style manor house and the rather newly built duplex house with the two units Mango and Papaya, surrounded by a sub-tropical garden.

The terraces and winter garden of all three units open to the secluded western side with panoramic views over the Valley of Aridane and El Paso to the ocean, also the pool area with the large sun terrace and the partly covered barbecue area. The swimming pool is roofed and therefore swimming is possible all year round. There is great walking or biking from the doorstep, passing well-tended canarian houses and garden, or meadows with horses and goats, surrounded by the woody slopes of the Cumbre.

This is a rural and original part of La Palma, far from any hectic and a little bit like from another time ...

El Paso is a village where traditions are still important, the original 'Fiestas' are still celebrated and the old men are sitting outside the bars, sipping their coffee and smoking their cigars.

But there are also plenty of shopping facilities: super markets, bakeries, health stores, souvenir shop and some fine restaurants.

The capital Santa Cruz and the airport are only 30 min by car, Los Llanos, the 'secret capital' is only 10 minutes and the beaches of Tazacorte, Puerto Naos, Charco Verde and Los Cancajos are only 15 - 20 minutes by car.

El Paso is a great starting point for exploring the island in every direction.

Perfektes Haus mit hohem Komfort

Schon wenige Minuten nach unserer Ankunft war klar, daß wir uns in diesem Haus wohlfühlen werden. Einrichtung, Ausstattung, Ambiente und (für uns ganz wichtig!) Sauberkeit auf höchstem Niveau. Die Lage ist ausgesprochen ruhig, selten kommen Autos vorbei, was den Entspannungsfaktor zusätzlich erhöht. Photos und Beschreibung im Internet versprechen nicht zuviel! Zu kritisieren gibt es nichts, höchstens ein zwei Anregungen haben wir: Die Lattenroste im "roten Schlafzimmer" sind zum Teil gebrochen und gehören dringend getauscht oder repariert, dann entsprechen sie dem hohen Standard der tollen Matratzen! Zusätzlich zum Gästebuch könnte man eine Mappe anlegen, in die die Gäste ihre Erfahrungen eintragen in Bezug auf Lokale, Wanderungen, Badebuchten etc.!
Sollten wir nochmals auf La Palma Urlaub machen, dann gibt es für uns keine Alternative zu diesem wunderschönen Haus!

Die Latten wurden bereits ersetzt,wer weiß was die Gäste so machen bei uns,man kann es nur darauf zurückführen daß Sie sich " sauwohl fühlen "
Auch die Mappe mit vielen geheimen Tipps ist gerade am entstehen und das nächste mal wenn Sie wieder kommen bestimmt fertiggestellt,versprochen!

Ein Traum am Rnade der Caldera

Die Ferienwohnung ist ruhig am Ortsrand gelegen, geschmachvoll und gut ausgestattet. Ein ruhiges Fleckchen Erde zum erholen und wohlfühlen am Rande de Caldera mit Fernblick auf das Meer und die Berge. Der Pool lädt zum erfrischen nach einem Sonnenbad auf dem großzügigen Gelände ein. Sonnenliegen und Sonnenschirm vorhanden. Die Wohnung hat einen eigenen Sitzbereich auf der Terasse unter einer großen, schattenspendenden Palme. Der Pool wird gemeinschaftlich mit den anderen beiden Objekten genutzt und ist auch in der Wintermonaten dank Abdeckung zu nutzen.
Für kühlere Abende steht ein gemütlicher Wintergarten zur Verfügung.
Die Umgebung bietet einige Wanderwege in die Caldera oder die Berge.
Im Ort gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten - gute Lokale sind ausreichend vorhanden.
Zu empfehlen: Tasca Katalina, La Perla Negra,Kiosko 7 islas (El Remo), Cantina Due Torri (los Llanos). Es gibt aber noch mehr zum ausprobieren.
Aufgrund der Bergrandlage ist je nach Windrichtung mit Bewölung zu rechnen,
Mit dem Auto ist man in ca. 20 Min. am Badestrand. Hier scheint die Sonne in der Regel auch, wenn es am Bergrand bedeckt ist. Der nächste größere Ort Los Ilanos lädt zum bummeln und verweilen ein (10 Min. Autofahrt).
Ein Mietwagen empfiehlt sich schon alleine um die wunderbare, abwechslungsreiche Insel zu erkunden.
Der Vermieter ist freundlich und hilfbereit - er gibt gute Tips zu den Restaurants oder für Unternehmungen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

der Geheimtip für die maximale Erholung

Wir waren schon in verschiedenen Ländern und Hotels, aber auf La Palma war die Woche viel zu kurz!
Das Zusammenspiel aus schöner Einrichtung, super Lage und dem Meer waren für uns die Gründe weswegen wir wieder hinfahren!

Kurzum das passt einfach!

And there is an orange bedroom 'Sol' with an Indian solid wooded bed with one latex mattress, capturing the setting sun. The terrace leads from the eastern side southward to the western side, where also the winter garden is from where French doors lead into the living room. The terrace is furnished with a table and chairs, cosy sun loungers and a large sun shade. A separate entrance leads to the pool area with the large covered pool (5 x 10 sqm), so swimming is possible all year round.
