This 19th century town-house in Vámház Krt. 9 accommodates our 3 high quality renovated apartments. Apartment 2 and 3 are 104 m² each and offer with 2 bedrooms, living room, vestibule, fully equipped kitchen, bath, guest toilet and central air conditioning pure extravagance. Apartment 5 with 44 m² is a studio with large vestibule, fully equipped kitchen and bath. Central heating, satellite-TV, parquet floors, double windows, high-speed internet access with WIFI and telephone are some features. The apartment was very clean, quiet, and nicely appointed. It is a short walk to the main shopping area as well as a fantastic food market, which is basically next door. There is also a tram that stops right down the street. The area is safe and as noted before very quiet. The only possible down side is that it is up several flights of stairs, but that's really just some extra exercise. Peter, the owner was very helpful and responsive, as was the apartment representative.
This apartment is nicely furnished with a fully stocked kitchen, but it's best asset is its location, half a block from the Great Market Hall on the inner ring road, a ten minute walk from the Gellert Hotel spa, and within two blocks of tram, bus, and metro stops, making all of Budapest easily accessible. We were two couples traveling together. The bathroom is accessible through one bedroom, so we had to work out a schedule for using it. Otherwise, the apartment was ideal.
Peter was very responsive throughout our preparations and even called to insure we had arrived and all was in order. He provided good restaurant recommendations (the inexpensive local restaurant around the corner was perfect for lunch three days in a row). He also helped us arrange a private guide who was excellent for a full day walking tour, as well as a driver to take us to the airport on the day of our departure. The Great Market Hall has virtually everything you will need for groceries, but don't miss the Asian market (in reality, an international food store) between the apartment and the Market Hall.
When I first walked into this apartment, I almost cried. It is absolutely beautiful with lots of space, wooden floors, high ceilings, and huge windows overlooking the street by the Great Market Hall. We stayed in Apartment 2 with our two year old boy, and we frankly did not want to leave. The apartment is renovated and has a kitchen that caused envy over my kitchen at home! We were greeted by the owner's very friendly housekeeper whose children nicely helped carry our bags and stroller up to the apartment. The owner is easily reached by phone for any questions and had a bottle of delicious Hungarian wine and a bottle of water awaiting us in the fridge. The apartment has air conditioning, which was well received as we were there with record temperatures for Europe! It is an easy walked (2-3 minutes to the tram and the metro) and is very secure. We are already trying to find a way to make it back to stay in this lovely apartment before our tour in Europe is complete. Thank you Familie Kluge!
This is a very spacious apartment, well furnished and very well maintained in a brilliant location in Budapest. Our group of two lots of two adults found it most comfortable. It is in the centre of Budapest next to one of the best food markets in Europe (that I have seen), nad close to very good restuarants, the underground railway and the Danube.
The ability to deal directly with the owners was also an advantage who were most helpful with arrival and departure arrangements.
I don't often tick the excellent box, but this was excellent.
The apartment was excellent: rooms spacious, spotlessly clean, furniture and fittings first class, appliances all worked and rooms air conditioned.
The booking process was smooth and facilitated efficiently by owners.
On site 'management' was available and completed in a friendly manner.
Access to apartment was by three flights of stairs, which could be difficult for some people.
We would highly recommend this apartment to friends and we would seek to stay there again.
Absolutely lovely apartment - very bright, impeccably clean, well equipped, comfortable. Excellent location next to market, nearby transit, across the bridge from Gellert baths, nearby restaurants, sightseeing. Stairs to climb and access to main bathroom is through one bedroom. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return.
The house is located in the centre of Budapest, at the end of Vaci utca (main shopping street), 100 m from the Danube-river, close to Europes most beautifull market hall and the Gellert Hotel (Liberty Bridge). Its central location makes it possible to reach the entire inner city by foot. All public transport is just a few steps away. Parking can be found three minutes away at the Korona Hotel.
