We loved it!

We stayed in this 4th floor unit Jul 30 to Aug 9, 2010, with our two teenagers. My decision to reserve this one was made when I received prompt replies and additional information and pictures from the owner, Jeremy, and his rental agent, Joy. Having rented several homes around the world in the past,(via Home Away, Owner Direct and Trip Advisor) I know how important it is to reach an owner, if needed - which we did not need this time.
In our opinion, this unit was perfect. It was private, and did not have the noisy-busy feeling that the units with a pool view had. It is also located close to the quiet pool and the gym, which was convenient for our family. This pool is intended as a lap pool, however some parents do bring their children there, occasionally. The walk to the beach is maybe 3 minutes, no more. We also walked to Roy’s Restaurant one evening (great dinner – we had the table d’hôte), which is no more than 10 minutes away. I loved the space available on the lanai, the view of the ocean and the palm tree that allowed for more privacy. Yes, the grass is yellow on that side of the villa (it also does not rain here!), - we also had a view of the golf course in the back, the mountains and could see people walking/jogging on the sidewalk, and a few cars going by within the resort area. We shopped at Costco and Safeway (get the grocery card for savings) in Kapolei, which is a 15 minute car ride away. For small items like milk, bread and eggs, there is a convenient ABC store after entering the gates. Small recommendations for Jeremy – consider purchasing a quality wine bottle opener, a cappuccino machine to enjoy the Hawaiian coffee while there, and plastic containers to store food in fridge. Also, as the beaches are public, beach chairs would also be appreciated. We could have brought them to the lagoon and beaches. Our boys did use the boogie boards available. The boys snorkelled in the lagoon and did see some fish and two large turtles. I swam in the lap pool, and found the water very clean and of a great temperature. My husband enjoyed all the channels available on the TV, and we all appreciated that access to the Internet was included. We drove to Waikiki (park at the zoo, its $1 per hour), and to the North Shore (best snorkelling is at Sharks cove), and the boys took a great 2.5 hour surfing lesson at Surf N Sea, located in Haleiwa. Overall, we really enjoyed our 9 nights there and yes, we would stay in this unit again shou
