Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Greenport - The Boathouse

2 Bedrooms, 1 master Bath, 1 Half Bath, sleeps 6

Historic converted 1890's boathouse in the middle of Greenport Village. This charming 3 story, shingle-style home is walking distance to the yacht basin, village shops, restaurants & wine bar, train & bus stations and many other amenities. Several beaches are a short walk or bike ride away. The house has had an authentic historic restoration and now boasts a formal Dining Room & Living Room with fireplace on the ground floor. Both the Living Room & Kitchen open on to a patio and deck respectively through huge 8'-0' french doors. The patio looks over a mature garden while the deck is enclosed by a shady arbour and makes an ideal summer dining spot. A covered porch, also off of the Living Room is perfect for enjoying the late afternoon light. On the second floor is the Master Bedroom & Second Bedroom. The Master Bedroom has a fireplace, walk in closet and view over the south garden. The Second Bedroom has a walk in closet and attached bathroom. Additional sleeping, a fully finished basement & laundry room can also be found. There is parking for 1 car.

Enjoy the bright spring light in the sundrenched house. Life in the Village is beginning to stir, tulips, daffodils & cherry blossoms are beginning to poke out and there's a chance for peaceful walks on the beach. At night light a roaring fire and enjoy a romantic dinner over a few glasses of wine. Summer means Barbecues, a picnic lunch at the beach and long warm nights outside. Fall brings a bountiful harvest from the local farms & vineyards - all a short drive from the house. Finally, winter is the time to cook up a big meal with family & friends and curl up in front of the fire. Year round, the Boathouse & Greenport invite you to relax & unwind.

Beautiful House that's improved over the years

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this house when we got married and returned with our two kids this year. This house holds a special place in our hearts but it would still be considered a favorite even if you removed the significance. It's beautifully decorated and kept in amazing condition. If your looking for a weekend house to explore the North Folk, this is it. We'll return again.

very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The house was nicer than we could imagine before. We were so happy

and felt really good. It was like a dream. Everything was clean and well-maintained.

The owner provided a wonderful photobook about the house with any kind of

instructions and informations. We recommend the house warmly.

The beaches were wonderful. 67 step beach was nice for walking and relaxing.

For swimming the inlet pond beach was better. We enjoyed the restaurants near the harbour

Perfect house/location

  • 5 of 5

A few friends and I (6 total) wanted to get away for the weekend between Christmas and New Year to relax and hit up some wineries. The boathouse was absolutely perfect! The details were modern but kept the charm of the original structure. The owner, Greg, was great to work with and very accommodating. My friends and I all loved it and we will definitely be visiting again!

Beautiful Boathouse in The Fall!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful sunny stay at The Boathouse, which is a great base to explore The North Fork of Long Island and there is also easy access to The Hamptons via ferries to Shelter Island. The house is so beautiful and very comfortable and clean, with so much character and history, and is well-equipped. The owner, Gregory Tuck, is so friendly and helpful, providing us with plenty of information to ensure we had a superb holiday. Greenport is very attractive and everything is easily accessible on foot, and the surrounding villages of Southold, Cutchogue and Orient also offer beautiful settings and fascinating history. We recommend especially Noah's, Bruce's Cheese Emporium and The Blue Duck Bakery and also suggest visits to the many wineries and farmstands.

Wonderful house in a fabulous location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this home a little over two years ago during the wintertime. The House is wonderfully decorated and nestled in a perfect area of the wine country. We spent our days on wine tours that picked us up at the house and our nights making cheese platters and drinking our wine by the fireplaces. We had such a wonderful time that I had to post about it be it a little late.

Idyllic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

I recently rented this jewel box of a house and enjoyed every minute of it. The pictures are accurate and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating or more generous with information about the local area. This is an extremely comfy house and utterly conducive to relaxation.

The house is perfectly situated on a quiet street in Greenport village. Within walking distance of the harbor, shops and amazing restaurants.

I will definitely stay there again.
