Bedankt voor de geweldige ervaring!

  • 5 of 5

Dank daarvoor!

Perfect Home for Family Austrian Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a week at Haus Sonnenlehen following Christmas. It was perfect for our family of ten, three generations. The booking process was easy and Stephan patiently answered all of our questions both before and after our arrival. The caretaker had a fire in the fireplace upon our arrival, a beautiful Christmas tree graced the family room, and the snow was absolutely beautiful. Stephan arranged a delightful authentic Austrian dinner at a local restaurant for our New Year’s Eve celebration and several bottles of champagne for our use. The village had a great fireworks display.

The house lent itself very well to both family time and private time. Three levels allowed us plenty of space and every amenity was supplied. We enjoyed the history of the house, the antiques and many old books. We cooked several family meals and enjoyed them at the large dining table. Thanks, Stephan, for providing us with the perfect place to make family memories.

LOOK NO FURTHER !!!

  • 5 of 5

If your looking for the perfect place for a family get together or a company holiday , THIS IS THE PLACE !

We were 3 families , celebrating our mothers 80th , & after our first contact with Stephan , the owner , we knew that this was the ideal location for our group of 14.He was so friendly & helpful , & gave us many tips about the area including full directions to the house from Salzburg & Vienna.

The house is huge with 2 fully equipped kitchens , dish washer & washing m/c , there is nothing missing , theres even a bbq .

Grossgmain is ideal for day trips to Salzberg or any of the surrounding sites & the local pool is across the road.

The village is quiet & ideal for long walks or bike rides , yes the house even has bikes !

The gardens are huge & we even played cricket on the back lawn.

There is a fully equipped office on the top floor with pc & printer & free wifi throughout the house.

If you have a car , the best way into Salzburg is with the P & R at the shopping center or airport .Just 12 euros for the day including the bus there & back , for up to 5 people. JUST REMEMBER to swap your parking ticket at the info desk in the morning.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A wonderful old house in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

This house is a wonder in itself. So big and with so many interesting nooks and crannies. Its a well presented house in a beautiful location, close to town, yet far enough away from the noise you feel like you are miles away from anywhere. Day trips to Salzburg were easy and the owner is truly helpful providing much advice about local things to do. recommend this place for large groups and families. We had a ball

A special place

  • 5 of 5

14 of my family and friends shared a wonderful holiday at Sonnenlehen. The house is truly something special with real character and charm – and the facilities all in excellent working order! The location is truly perfect for those wanting a getaway with access to what is truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world, mountains, lakes and genuine peace and quiet. A walk from the back door takes you into the foothills of the Untersberg and truly spectacular views. A half hour drive takes you to Lake Konigsee – dramatic and beautiful complete with glacier and cable car. The 180 bus takes you into Salzburg, just outside the Mirabel Palace in about 40 mins, and a short stroll over the Salzach and you are in the haart of the city with it’s elegant squares, café’s, market, castle and cathedrals – not forgetting Mozarts Birthplace.

For large parties this place is fantastic – the supermarket in the village, bakers, butchers and gasthaus are all excellent. We had a specially baked Sachertorte which was simply delicious.

We are already planning a return visit!
