The town of Colonial Beach is 90 minutes outside the Washington, DC area and 40 minutes East of Historic Fredericksburg, Va. The area surrounding the town of Colonial Beach is rich with history and many historic sites: the birthplace of George Washington, Robert E. Lee and James Monroe. Within a short drive there’s Ingleside, Belle Mount and Oak Crest Vineyards, Westmoreland Berry Farm & Orchard and Westmoreland State Park. For those who like antiquing, 45 minutes outside the town is Tappahannock and Historic Fredericksburg, where you’ll find some of the best Antique Shops around.
Colonial Beach is a great little town for walking and biking, within the towns limits you’ll find great Waterfront Restaurants with Live Entertainment on weekends, a variety of shops and art galleries. Colonial Beach, the second largest beach in Virginia is where you can relax and watch the sunrise, or enjoy an afternoon cocktail at the beachfront Tiki Bar.
