Nestled on five pristine acres just inland from the waters of East Sound, and poised on the northern end of the San Juan National Wildlife Refuge, this lovely and spacious East Sound vacation rental home with room for fourteen is waiting to be your home base as you explore the beauty and diversity of the Orcas Islands. With five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and two full kitchens, it's the perfect haven for your family getaway, reunion, or business retreat. You'll be just five miles from busy Eastsound where you'll find several restaurants, numerous gift stores, and a large grocery store.
Cedar Field has plenty of living area for everyone, whether you want to get together and chat, or go your separate ways. With lots of comfortable nooks and crannies, there are plenty of places to escape with a book, a sketchbook, or a laptop (free WIFI). When it's cold and rainy, you can snuggle up by the wood fireplace upstairs, or the woodstove downstairs. Stream a show on Netflix, or grab DVD from the library and pass the time with a movie. And when the weather's nice, there are simpler pleasures out on the big deck where you'll be beguiled by the amazing views of Turtleback Mountain and Crow Valley.
This bi-level gem has five bedrooms across two independent living areas and is perfect for two families or groups who want the option of a little more privacy. Two of the cozy bedrooms are upstairs, each with a queen bed, each smartly decorated with wood floors covered with area rugs, and plenty of closet and drawer space. Head downstairs where you'll find three more comfortable bedrooms, two of which also have queen beds. Put the kids in the fifth bedroom downstairs on its two twin beds. And a big group needs lots of bathrooms; no problem. This lovely home has three full baths, one of which has a deep soaking tub where you can take turns relaxing in its bubbly warmth. There's a washer and dryer, too, so you'll always have a fresh change of clothes.
Whether you're staying upstairs or down, you'll have access to a fully equipped kitchen. Each has the requisite stove, microwave, and dishwasher you'd expect to make both meals and clean ups quick and easy. Both are roomy and have all the pots, pans, utensils and cutlery you'll need to feed your hungry clan. Enjoy your meals at the dining tables on each level. On those days when the clouds over Puget part and the skies light up with sunshine, there are two grills outside - a gas grill and a charcoal - just waiting for your hamburgers, steaks, or salmon. And just for fun, get a blaze going in the firepit and have some fun under the Northwest sky!
When you step onto Orcas Island, you step back in time! Less developed than its neighbor, San Juan Island, the island is a sea of green filled with gorgeous red madrona trees and lush foliage. With 40 miles of trails to explore, it's a hiker and cyclist's dream! Bring the camera to the top of Mount Constitution and get some breathtaking shots. Bring your appetite to one of the many eateries in Eastsound where you'll also find some wonderful shops where you can purchase every manner of pottery or artwork. Visit the farmer's market at the nearby public park. Or, just grab the equipment right there at the home and enjoy a fun game of horseshoes, volleyball, croquet, or badminton.

"Dear Jesse, Our family had a fabulous week. Thank you for providing a vacation house where we could all be together. In a couple years we would like to do it again."
Wow, this house was so great. I loved everything about it. Beautiful, clean property, and the two level layout was great. Kitchen was very well-appointed, the fireplaces were great. The location is great - very private and cozy. Couldn't have asked for anything better!
Plenty of beds, lots of room. Clean. Stayed here before, would stay again!
We stayed here to celebrate our Canadian Thanksgiving with 3 other families. Booking the property and the check in/out process were so easy and quick. There was tons of space for everyone and it never felt like we were on top of each other. Everything was clean and organized. The kids loved roasting marshmallows at the fire pit and seeing the cows out the kitchen windows everyday. Everything was really easy to get to and not too far of a drive, we went on a couple of nice hikes, enjoyed the crazy skateboard park and the quaint little main strip area. The new Co-op was amazing and so accommodating, they even ordered us a free range turkey ahead of time and defrosted it for us. They had a great selection of healthy organic food, and the IGA Market was also fantastic. All of the people in our group agreed that we would definitely come back. Thanks for the great experience! PS - We even saw a pod of Orcas from the ferry on the way home!!!
From previous reviews, we thought this house would be great for our family of 10. Don't let those reviews fool you. We walked into a house that initially appeared ok, until we looked further. It was disgustingly filthy! The kitchen sink had food and dead flies in it. Counters were dirty. Floors unswept. Carpet not vacuumed. Beds that were made up to look clean, when you pulled back the covers, the linens had not been changed, and sheets were full of hair from previous guests. Bathrooms.....I can't even go into detail here how discusting they were! It was obvious we could not stay there. we called management, and they offered nothing to us, except asking if we would be willing to clean the house. That was NOT ACCEPTABLE! We finally got them to agree to get the house cleaned while we found other arrangements for that night. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, BEWARE! THE HOUSE SMELLS!!! I could go on, but the bottom line is the customer service from VACASSA was lackluster. They really didn't care.
This house was an excellent place for my wedding bridal party to celebrate and relax before my wedding.
Great centrally located home overlooking fields, pond, garden and turtleback mountain. Loved the two great kitchens, 3 baths. It served our group of 10 just great. I would go back again anytime! The porches are both really nice, well furnished.
