Surrounded by Tall Pines the living area has a great view with windows that are two stories high and a cathedral ceiling. The house has a great room and one bedroom and bath on the first floor-ideal for anyone not interested in going up or down the stairs. The cars park right in front of the house with only one small step down to the entrance.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, a loft and another bathroom and a deck.

The house has been completely re-modeled with lots of pine trim and wood plank floors and carpet in the bedrooms. It is very warm with double pane windows and well insulated-you'll never be cold in this house. Apple TV in the living room.

Cozy and spacious home!!
This cozy and spacious home kept us warm during the one of the coldest winters for the area! The host was very communicative during and after our stay. We would stay here again.

Fantastic house and location
Our family had a great time at this house - walking distance to Tahoe City's restaurants and amenities, and easy access to a number of ski areas and hiking trails. Beds were comfortable and Cathy was very responsive to messages.

Inaccurate Listing!
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU RENT THIS PROPERTY! This is the first time we have given a poor review of a property we have stayed at, but we feel compelled to write an HONEST AND ACCURATE review of this property. The positives: it is spacious, was clean upon arrival, the kitchen is well stocked, and it is conveniently located. That is where the accuracy of the previous reviews end. The cabin is very outdated. It has a tired feel and look. The furniture is very uncomfortable...we couldn't sit for any length of time on the big green leather couch in the living room without our backs hurting. The most comfortable chairs were the dining room chairs and the black folding camp chairs upstairs. As I said, the house is very dated, especially the bathrooms. Both the dishwasher and washer/dryer were so loud, we could not have them running if we were in the same room. One of the first things you will notice is that there are over 40 notes and or labels stuck on furniture, windows, appliances, sinks, toilets, cabinets, doors etc throughout the entire house! They range from instructional to threatening and cover subjects from "DO NOT CHANGE THE SETTING ON THE REFIR! LEAVE ON 3...TRUST ME I KNOW THIS REFIR", "DO NOT USE THE HEAT SETTING ON THIS DISHWASHER...LEAVE AS IS!", "CLEAN THE OVEN! $50 EXTRA CHARGE FOR DIRTY OVEN!" "DO NOT REMOVE MAKEUP WITH WASH CLOTHES OR TOWELS. EXTRA CHARGE FOR STAINED LINENS!" And my personal favorite...."DO NOT PUT TAMPONS OR ANYTHING ELSE DOWN THE TOILET!". The tone of these ubiquitous notes was very unfriendly and inhospitable and contributed to the overall impression that we were unwelcome intruders. Adding to that impression, were the 12+ locked cabinets, closets, and doors throughout the house. An armore was supplied in each bedroom as the closets were all locked, but what this accomplished was to make each already small bedroom feel cramped and crowded. Communication with the owner was very poor. A day before we were to leave, I contacted the owner because we had received no check-in information. During our stay, the largest blizzard of the season hit and we were snowbound in the cabin for three days. The owner did not call or contact us to see if we needed anything or even to inform us of snow removal procedures. We wrote an email to the owner to express these concerns. We received a nasty reply filled with excuses, false accusations and name calling. An overall very unpleasant experience!

David and I live in the Bay Area in Marin County and we love our house in Tahoe. We try to get up there as much as we can -usually once or twice a month. We both love to ski. Our favorite place to ski is Squaw Valley. David grew up in Greenbrae, CA and I grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. We both love to travel and our favorite places to go are New York City, Hawaii and Europe. Tahoe is great summer, winter, fall or spring. Our favorite restaurant in Tahoe City is Wolfdales and we love the spa at Squaw Creek. We wish you all a Great Vacation. David & Cathy

Why they chose this property

We wanted to buy another house and decided that Tahoe has the best of everything. We searched for 8 months before we bought this house. And we were lucky to find this house. The location is just perfect-we can walk to all our favorite places. Restaurants, shopping and the beach. We have a wonderful beach in Tahoe City. Our house is very pretty with pine plank floors and pinewood cathedral ceiling. Our living room looks out onto the mountains and we have ceiling to floor windows. The house is really well insulated and is warm & cozy with a very quiet heater and a beautiful River Rock Hearth

What makes this property unique

My favorite place to be in the summer is in the hammock in our backyard. We have the perfect spot between two trees. In the winter I love lying on the couch in the living room watching the snow fall. It's warm & cozy and beautiful to watch. I am never happy to leave this house. In the winter we love to ski all morning and then come home and relax. In the summer Tahoe City has great activities. My favorite are the concerts on Sunday evenings at Commons Beach. On Thursday mornings there is a farmers market on the beach and Wed nights they show movies at dusk. It is the perfect place for a great vacation!
