Quiet place with lovely garden
We had a lovely stay in Patrizia's apartment. The location was perfect in a quiet residential area and within walking distance to Rome's sights. We enjoyed the lovely rose garden and the neighborhood restaurants and delicious ice cream. Patrizia was very friendly and helpful. We recommend Gianicolo Garden and hope to come again another time.

Wonderful Holiday!
This was the perfect base to explore Rome. As first time visitors we had little idea about the practicalities and Patrizia was very helpful indeed whether it was arranging taxi transfers to and from the airport or recommending super places to visit. Communication with her both before and during the visit was easy and pleasant. She's a really warm and welcoming host. The location of the apartment means that it is fair walking distance from the centre but also well served with bus and tram services which are very reasonable in cost and regular. The area is quiet, which was nice, but also had all you might need close by - a small supermarket, restaurants and bars, a street market and cashpoint within about 10 minutes' walk. The accommodation is comfortable, well equipped and very clean and we were delighted to see the first of Patrizia's roses come into bloom in what will be a stunning floral season in the little courtyard set aside for guests' use. We wish we'd had longer than a week; we didn't have enough time in the apartment because Rome has SO much to offer. Advice to travellers... get a really detailed bus/tram/metro map. Travel is cheap at 1.5 Euro for 90 minutes travel - you can get to most of Rome in that time and it's fun!

Lovely place to stay. Quiet, enclosed garden which is nice and shady.
The apartment was small, but perfect for our stay. No air con, but the ceiling fan in the bedroom/living room was very effective. The bed settee was a bit hard for more than a couple of nights' sleep.

A quiet retreat away from the heat of the city
The apartment proved to be a welcome escape from the city, the small garden providing a welcome outdoor space. Be prepared for the fact that the apartment is in an area high above the buzz of Trastevere and involves either the energy to attack 200 steps morning and evening or the know-how to ride the buses and trams. The immediate area has much more to offer than is made clear in the details, a parade of shops in addition to the small local market and a theatre. There is also a taxi rank for those who are inhibited by trying to deal with the local transport system. Patrizia was vey helpful and made us very welcome without intruding in our stay. The apartment provides all that you need for a short stay although the bathroom area is a little creative! All in all a comfortable apartment away from the pressure of the city.

Review of our stay at Gianicolo Garden Apartment, Rome.
We were delighted with all aspects of our stay at the apartment. Patrizia, the host, was very helpful and very friendly. Because we were happy with everything, we did not have to bother her during our one week stay. The apartment was really nice, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. The location of the apartment is in a really nice area, quite and close to all amenities and to public transport. The private outside space at the back of the apartment was lovely and a really nice place to sit amongst the beautiful trees and plants, a welcome peaceful oasis away from the busy streets of the city. We would definitely return to the apartment and would be very happy to recommend it to others. Again, thank you very much Patrizia for making our stay in Rome a very enjoyable and relaxing experience.

I work in the media field and we love Roma and this wonderful neighbourhood, where you can enjoy the best part of the city. Gardening is my preferred hobby.

Why they chose this property

As soon as I saw this house, it was "love at first sight". The building is ancient, but filled with sunshine. It has a fascinating garden. Located in the centre of Roma, but in a green public area, it has bus connections to the most important monuments. You are staying in the centre, but it feels like living in a small 1900s village. Nearby, a few metres away, you can enjoy 3 of Rome’s best restaurants, pastries, and bars.

What makes this property unique

Tastefully furnished but in an efficient and cosy way, very bright, with a queen-size bed, and if needed a futon sofa-bed. A quiet neighbourhood surrounded by green and the outdoor markets of Roma’s centre. You will find everything you need for the toilet and the kitchen in the house.
