Situated on a hill, high above the busy market town of Casabermeja, this outstanding property, converted from an 18th century wine press, has 360 degree views across stunning country and mountain scenery.

Lagar los Pilones is part of a privately owned farm of 200 hectares, approached by a steep, well maintained, 2 km track which winds through woodland of olive, Mediterranean oak,almonds and figs, and is full blossom in the spring. Within the farm´s grounds are some ancient open caves containing painting said to date back some 6,000 years.

Ideally situated for easy access to the historic cities of Granada, Ronda, Antequera, Córdoba and Sevilla, one should also make time to visit the fascinating EL Torcal Natural Park with its intriguing rock formations. Málaga and the coast are within a half a hour´s drive too.

Maintaining much of the original character, although renovated to an extremely high standard (including full central heating).

There are two properties. The large poperty, for six persons, with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, has high beamed ceilings, a huge picture window looking out onto the surrounding countryside, and a raised area where enormous wine vats, flood-lit from within, have been sunk into the floor and cleverly incorporated into the décor. Lagar los Pilones is part of an agricultural farm that my family has worked for generations. I received this house as the most precious of gifts and want to share it with those who appreciate the value of the authentic.

This is not a new house built for tourism. It is a living house, a house with a history, a house that keeps the essence of the Andalusian countryside.
