About Michelle

We live in the apartment on the higher floor, we are in a typical bolognese neighborhood. The area is 100% safe and perfectly serviced by public transportation, with plenty of stores, etc. nearby. Quiet location, apartment.

Michelle purchased this condo in 2008

Why Michelle chose Bologna City

The apartment is easily reachable from both the airport and the train station and convenient to all spots in town. The Bologna public transportation system gets you everywhere quickly and inexpensively (ticket: 1€/person/1 hour) - the stop is just 60 mts. and buses run around the clock. Florence, Venice, Ferrara, Mantua, Milan, the Adriatic shore etc. can be easily and inexpensively visited by train in minutes. The hills are at walking distance and the San Luca hilltop cathedral can be reached in about 40 minutes walking.

We liked the appartement very much. Michelle was very helpful, when we need any help.

Classy, comfortable apartment, kind & attentive hostess

  • 5 of 5

Why Bologna? our friends asked. Because it's the culinary heart of Italy, a vibrant and interesting city where we felt safe on the streets, wandered for hours at a time under the many beautiful porticoes (covered sidewalks), and ate meals so memorable it was hard to leave. We initially thought we would use Bologna as a base for day trips to other nearby towns, but we found so much to do in Bologna, we never left until we got on our plane to come home.

My husband and I have rented apartments in several major European cities, and Casa Corsica was absolutely the best we've ever rented. The apartment is on the first floor (second floor for us North Americans), in a 4-story building in a nice neighborhood, with a well-kept private garden courtyard. The location felt secure and secluded, yet was only a few steps from the bus stop to the historic center.

Michelle, the owner, lives upstairs, and is attentive, kind, and very helpful. She was there to welcome us and show us around the apartment. On the table was a bowl of fresh fruit and a homemade lemon cake, and the fridge was thoughtfully stocked with morning essentials (eggs, milk, butter, mineral water, yogurt, bread and jams). There is a wonderful Nespresso coffee machine, and capsules were supplied, as well as coffee and equipment for other methods.

Location is ideal, 10 minutes by bus to the historic center, 20-30 minutes by foot, and easy to navigate. Bus stop is just a few steps away from the apartment.

The apartment has four rooms -- LR, BR, kitchen and bath, and all rooms can be closed off from each other for privacy. It is newly renovated, fresh, immaculate, and tastefully appointed. Large windows open onto a beautifully tended, peaceful garden. This is a classy, comfortable place.

Great apartment in Bologna!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Casa Corsica for three weeks while working and vacationing in Bologna. The apartment was immaculately cleaned, safe, and comfortable. Despite charging much less than a hotel the price included a maid service, laundry, and some great amenities (like a courtyard to use for relaxing, and some extra food and condiments stocked in the kitchen). The landlord was very pleasant in my dealings with her and made me feel at home (she recommended some great restaurants to visit, so if you have a moment ask her!). The apartment is about a twenty-minute walk from the center of the city, and easily accessible to public transportation- the bus stops right in front of the apartment. Would certainly stay there if visiting again.

Great days!

  • 5 of 5

We have two children, 13 and 10 years old, we stayed there for a week, it was fantastic. Michelle is a special hostess, she took care of every detail. The flat was clean and tidy and she made a delicious cake for breakfast. She also left at the kitchen all you need for your breakfast, fruit, milk, cookies, coffee,...She provided us a lot of information about places to visit and restaurants. I recommend this flat.

A great and cozy apartment with an attentive host

  • 5 of 5

This little flat was close enough to major transportation, very walkable to the sights in Bologna yet tucked away enough from the hustle and bustle to be relaxing. Michelle, the host is warm, welcoming, attentive without being intrusive. She had the apartment stocked with a few starter food items and of course her famous lemon cake on arrival. As we had been traveling for 4 weeks prior to arrival, it was very welcoming for her to offer to do some of our laundry. She gave us suggestions on things to see and do, Ravenna, St. Lucca, etc. which we would not have found on our own and we were very glad she did. She made restaurant resv. for us and we loved the food, particularly Melon Cello. The small courtyard outside was wonderful to sit in and enjoy an expresso or bottle of wine. We had rented a car and parking was a bit of an issue but we were able to work it out. We used Bologna as a hub to do day trips out of and the Autostrade was very close and directions were well signed. Bologna itself was an absolute delight and we were so glad we experienced it even though many people skip it when doing Italy. Either walking or taking the bus to city center is easy. Make sure you take the Hop on/off bus at city center to get a good feel for the city and it's history. The whole experience, the flat, the city, the food and of course the hostess was great and everything we hoped for and more. We would definitely stay there again if we go back. Well done Michelle!

We vote Michelle's Casa Corsica our best ever accommodation in Italy! She was an exceptional host in every way. The apartment is spotlessly clean and comfortable.

This property is in a leafy and quiet location and easily accessible on foot to Central Bologna. The short walk is porticoed all the way. Very good restaurants and trattorias are nearby and a most reliable bus service stops very close to the front gate. Michelle made Casa Corsica a "home away from home" and we plan to return there.
