This is the side of Kauai with the MOST SUN AND BEST WEATHER all year long. Kekaha beach is the LONGEST WHITE SAND BEACH in all of Hawaii. This natural, uncrowded beach stretches for more than 15 miles & offers swimming, surfing, boogie boarding and fishing. It's the best walking beach on the island and leads all the way to the cliffs of the NaPali coast. Just 2 blocks from our driveway is the road leading to WAIMEA CANYON. Two large grocery stores are 2 miles away. Minutes to the harbor to catch a sunset cruise along the famous NaPali coast. Watch the whales from the beach.
Custom constructed in 2000, this plantation style home is open and airy with SOARING CEILINGS, and is ONLY 200 FEET FROM THE OCEAN. The UPSCALE furnishings are from the collections of Tommy Bahama, Henry Link, and Delano and Seymour's Hawaiian House. There are many original art pieces of Hawaiian influence and island style. You'll find yourself spending most of your time outside on the 36 FOOT OCEAN SIDE LANAI! After a day at the beach, you can rinse off in the outdoor shower.
Within the large, private yard, are multitudes of flowering plants, as well as fruit trees such as orange, papaya, Pomegranate, lemon, avocado, mango, and lime. There is nothing like sitting on the Oceanside lanai, having a drink, and reaching for a lime from the tree while enjoying the changing colors of the sky as the sun sets over the ocean. The MASTER SUITE IS OCEAN SIDE with an OVER SIZED SHOWER FOR TWO. Two other bedrooms share a bath and a side lanai. The gourmet kitchen is a cook's dream. Enjoy meals at home with dining inside or out on the lanai as the sun sets on another beautiful day.
A short 25 minute ride to Poipu with it's upscale shopping and dining options. Fabulous snorkeling at Poipu Beach.
THIS IS WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING....
Warm friendly and inviting...
The west side in Kekaha is wonderful, filled with sunny days and starry nights. The house is well appointed and easy to relax in and call home for how ever long you stay. We had 5 weeks to stay and play and loved every moment. Yes you have to drive to other parts of the island but that's the beauty of this home, it's not far from anywhere and it's so great to come home to. Thanks again Scott for making our stay in paradise a time we won't soon forget.

That was the best vacation we've ever had. It was nonstop fun even when we weren't doing anything. We enjoyed your house very much. It was very well equipped and the neighbors were very nice. Rosy gave us a big sack of ripe mangos, and she would laugh and smile with full soul involvement. We ate stuff from the farmers market that I don't even know what it was. The whole community was involved in the 8th grade graduation. Very cool. I don't even know most of my neighbors here. Anyway, thanks again. We'll be back. GUESTS: Ginger & Gene 5/12/14
We had an absolutely wonderful time in Kauai. Your Hale Anuenue rental was perfect for us. We enjoyed staying on the west side of the island not just due to the weather but the interaction with the locals, especially Tony's family across the street. They were very friendly, and had only great things to say about you.
We loved the entire experience including the roosters, muddy hikes, swimming at Polihale Beach, Maha'ulepu Beach and the lithified cliffs, and all the spectacular views. We hiked so much we were not sure we would make it out the next day but the excitement of what Kauai has to offer always got us up early. Breakfast and dinner on the back porch was the best start and finish to EVERY day.
We have already started saving for our next trip - we still have a
long list of things to experience on the island. We will definitely
be contacting you. Thank you again for helping us make our Kauai vacation just perfect.

We all had the best time, just as you said we would. The weather was perfect. It only poured twice, once at night and once on the way to Poipu. But that day at Poipu, it cleared and we had a great time snorkeling at the beach 15 minutes later. No other rain, just as I had hoped.
We thought we'd hike but the beaches were simply too wonderful! The house was just perfect! The pictures on your web site don't do it justice!! Luckily we took some nice ones to help refresh our memories!
Yesley made a lei for me from the aromic white flowers in the yard. So beautiful and scented the house too! Thank you for making this vacation possible!

* Thank you so much for providing such a lovely, well-appointed home. We had everything we needed and really couldn't have asked for a better home to relax in and enjoy Kauai. The decor, furnishings, bed linens, artwork, kitchenware, ocean accessories, etc., were so appreciated and useful. I came back home and told my husband, all of our kitchenware is basically 'crap' and we need to upgrade! You spoiled me!
We truly had a wonderful time and our 8-year-old daughter never wanted to leave. She fell head over heels in love with your backyard and we videotaped her saying goodbye (tears and all) to the back of the house. It was so pitifully sweet and quite heartbreaking. She keeps asking us why we choose to live in Kentucky when we could live in Kauai. Funny, if it weren't for career and family, I'd wonder the same thing.
Thank you again for the beautiful home and all that came with it. You have a very special place in Kauai and we hope to visit again soon.

I previously had purchased on condo at Lae Nani on the East side. However, it became apparent that the traffic was becoming difficult to navigate all day. Also, being from the Northeast, I had seen enough rainy, cloudy weather. I wanted to be on the dry and sunny side with access to the best beach for walking, boogie boarding, surfing, and swimming. I found Kekaha Beach and loved the traditional Hawaii of the Westside, plus the Waimea Canyon is only steps away.
The mornings with a crystal clear cobalt blue sky. The cool nights and warm dry sunny days.
In 20 minutes I can be up in the canyon for a day of hiking and the sounds of nature. The close proximity to Polihale Beach is very special as is this wild beach with spectacular dunes and nature's own pool called Queen's Pond. You can eat out on the lanai almost every night without any bugs or strong tradewinds blowing in from the ocean. It is the best restaurant seat on the island!
We had such a lovely stay at your beautiful Kekaha home! It was perfect for us. This was the 1st VRBO home we’ve rented where the home was superb compared to the pictures! We loved it- it was so clean, it had all the amenities of home plus more! We enjoyed every meal on the Lanai, even when it was very warm out. The master shower and outdoor shower were fantastic! Plus all the beach equipment, snorkeling, towels, kiddie toys…just great. But the Blue Ray player and new TV was out of this world. We only watched 20 minutes or so each evening before we retired, or fell asleep watching, but the picture was scary real! Lastly, Sarah was great. We had 2 phone calls to her and she was extremely prompt with our needs. Thank you for making our visit to Kauai so easy with a fantastic home to stay.
We’ll definitely recommend your home to others.
I have to say that staying at Hale Anuenue is one of
the nicest vacations we have ever had. The house
was beautifully appointed, very comfortable and
immaculate. Sitting on the lanai, as we did for
every meal the month we were there, was
sensational in the true sense of the word as we
were surrounded by flowers, birds, butterflies,
warm breezes with the sound of the ocean in the
background. Kekaha is the dry side of the island so
even if was raining elsewhere we were always
surrounded by sunlight and then beautiful sunsets
in the evening over the beach 2 blocks away. If it
hadn't already been booked I think we would have
tried to stay on all winter!
Hale Anuenue is an awesome home. It was perfect for my stay on the west side of Kauai. Here for work, I was close to Barking Sands and only 75 yards from the longest stretch of beach on the island. Yes, the west side beach is back and much better this year than last. I eat every meal on the back lanai which is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Listening to the waves while reading is so relaxing and perfect when sleeping. The kitchen is stocked with every kitchen tool needed to create any meal one could think of(seared Ahi is a good place to start). Evening walks along the beach do no disappoint, sunsets on this side of the island are by far the best. I will be looking to stay here on future trips.
How to start? Well, from the moment we walked in, we knew this was just what we had hoped for. Hale Anuenue was our home away from home, we were very lucky to have 4 wonderful weeks here in January 2015 and were sad when it was time to go. The weather was great, most meals were enjoyed on the back lanai where we could take in the ocean view, the sounds of the waves and many times would even see whales breaching. As stated by another reviewer this house is indeed neatly nestled back just off the highway between two other bigger and pricier rental homes. We quickly realized we were happy about that as there are many vehicles that travel the highway all hours of the day and night and we wouldn't have enjoyed the noise that those two get. Our days were spent standup paddle boarding on the ocean or the Waimea river, more often for us though was hiking the many trails in the Waimea Canyon. (FYI, there are lots of guide books available at the house so really no need to bring your own!) Chad, thank you for the recommendations, we had FANTASTIC views at the end of virtually every trail we took. Evenings of walking the beach from the harbor to the Waimea river and back was one of our favorite ways to watch the sunsets. The yard is beautifully kept and picking a papaya and fresh lemons from the trees was such a treat. If you find yourself wanting other fresh fruit or vegetables the farmers market each Saturday was just a short walk down the street. Overall this home was just as described, the kitchen had everything needed for cooking, the shower in the master bathroom was awesome as was the outdoor one after a day at the beach. Kekaha, on the sunny West side of the island is the perfect place to go if you want to get away from it all, and this home and it's location will certainly not disappoint. Mahalo for sharing your little piece of paradise with us, we even miss the roosters! You are such a pleasure to work with, we will definitely hope to stay here the next time we come to Kauai.
First off, thank you for opening your home to us. We feel privileged to have stayed there.
To anyone looking at renting this property, we stayed there for 3 weeks in June/July 2013.
We were all pretty exhausted and looking for a quiet, non-touristy place to rest and recharge. Hale Anuenue is exactly as advertised. In fact, it may be better than advertised.
Kekaha is a great section of the island. Granted, its farther from the "action" but its a great place to relax. It's got a great local feel as it is relatively untouched by development/resorts. The people are wonderful. There is very little rain there. We had one afternoon of rain in 3 weeks whereas the rest of the Island can be rained in for weeks.
Hale Anuenue is tucked in behind and between two newly developed homes that cost roughly $400/$500 per night. These homes are located immediately adjacent to the highway and shelter all the road noise ( which can be significant - garbage trucks, 18 wheelers) from Hale Anuenue. There is a beautiful lanai where we ate every night over looking the ocean. Again, better than advertised. Great, unobstructed view of the ocean without the noise or the high price tag… Great value.
It was very kid friendly. Two parks within walking distance for our 3 yr old. Salt Pond beach is 10 minutes away and amazing for little ones. Poipu is 35/40 minutes and nothing is far on the Island.
The one bad thing about staying out in Kekaha (or anywhere else local) are the roosters. They're everywhere and they're loud. Bring ear plugs. Man, I hate those roosters…
Chad and his team run a pretty tight ship. I'm an experienced real estate broker and landlord. I was very impressed with the operation, the high level of service and professionalism. Chad, I will be telling all my friends that are going to Hawaii about your rentals..
Seriously folks, don't hesitate on this place. It was pretty fantastic.
Thank you again Chad. You have a little slice of heaven there...
Andy, Ottawa Canada.
two couples stayed here for 5 nights. The location is great, but the house is wonderful. We spent every night on the lanai enjoying the Aloha Spirit. The back yard is beautiful. The home is decorated perfectly, and you don't need a thing. Everything is there, even beach chairs. It was a pleasure to work with Chad, and even better to stay at this warm, inviting home. One of our best stays ever, and the best of three islands on this trip.
We loved our stay at Hale Anueue! We have rented many condos and homes in our years of traveling and this was probably the most comfortable we have ever stayed at. Just like being home! It was furnished and equipped with every possible comfort. We took advantage of the fresh limes and mangoes in the yard and particularly enjoyed relaxing and eating meals on the back porch. The beach was a short walk from the house. When we return to Kauai some day, we hope to be able to stay at Hale Anueue again.
