|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
The cottage is located above Kilauea bay and the Kilauea river valley. It is on a private estate and it is the only unit on the five acres other than the owners home. It is located with a breath taking view of the river and a partial view of the beach.
It is perfect for a honeymoon as the privacy and the details will make for a memorable stay. The beach is a short walk down a private ancient Hawaiian trail. The ocean is perfect for swimming or surfing and there is a secluded beach. Swim a few laps in the salt water pool if you don't want to go to the beach.
Privacy and seclusion are yours without sacrificing restaurants and recreation within 10 minutes. No more than two guests are permitted. For more pictures and a virtual tour go to linked website.

We bought this land and built the cottage on the bluff looking down at the Kilauea River and Bay to capture the views and tranquility the area offers.
We love to swim laps in the salt water pool after coming up from a dip in the ocean. The views of the ocean to the mountains from sunrise to sunset, the whales, the albatross that nest with us every winter, the perfect surf moments away.
My husband and I rented this cottage for 4 nights. I wish it was for a month. This place blew my mind. The pictures do not even begin to capture the beauty. Let's start with the cottage. It was a lot larger than what the pictures show. It’s perfect for two people. We slept with the windows open every night and in the morning woke up to an unbelievable view of the river and mountains. The kitchen is fully equipped if that is important. The grounds are spectacular. One view is the river and the mountains and the other view is the ocean. I could go on and on about this place so if you are debating on renting, pull the trigger now. You will not regret the decision. It exceeded all my expectations.
Can there be six stars?!?!? This cottage is perfection, as far as I'm concerned. I've been coming to Kauai for about 40 years, and this is my favorite place I've ever stayed. The side facing the mountains and river valley is all glass, so you have a stunning view 24/7. And you can walk right out your front door, around the owner's house and down a path to a gorgeous beach, or just sit and gaze down at it from the bluff. I couldn't count how many rainbows I saw. And it's the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in -- I've already ordered the same mattress for myself at home! Ken and Chris are the perfect hosts/owners -- they manage to perfectly walk that line of being helpful and available and leaving you to your privacy. Kilauea is a great location on the island -- close to everything on the North Shore (be sure to take a tour of Limahuli Gardens and take in a sunset at Ke'e Beach), and really not that far to anything you might want to do down south. I was by myself and felt comfortable, safe, and thoroughly pleased. I would stay here anytime I return to Kauai! Thank you, Ken and Chris, for a perfect sojourn on the beautiful island of Kauai.
I had forgotten to write a review of this amazing cottage and was just reminded to do so as I'm highly recommending that some friends stay here. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing in every way. Total paradise. Private and quiet, stunning views in every direction, private pool, short walk to a private beach and a close drive to all the North shore has to offer...I could go on and on. And the owners are so friendly and welcoming and provided excellent recommendations - we could not have been happier. We hope to come stay here again and again. And again. Thank you for sharing your paradise!
We stayed here for a week in the middle of September and had an absolutely amazing time. The owners were incredibly friendly, offering use of the lap pool (which was great during the hot hours of the day) and fruit from their trees. We got a kick out of picking starfruit, dragonfruit, among others, and cutting them up for breakfast. The cottage was cute, but the view from the cottage and the lanai is one that we could never get used to. There's not a more romantic setting than out on the lanai in lounge chairs overlooking the valley and river, with large mountains behind them, and a bright blue sky backdrop. The flights may be long getting there, but we agree that it was worth every minute spent traveling, and we're already talking about when we can go back.
I stayed here a year and a half ago, and was just stopping by the site to see if was open for my upcoming stay. To me this place is magic. The views are spectacular and the setting is beautiful. If you are someone who likes to appreciate the true things Hawaii has to offer this is the place for you. I hiked down to the beach barefoot each morning to my absolute favorite beach on Kauai. If you are looking for color TV, swimming pools and paved driveways...maybe Princeville is a better choice for you. If you are looking to really experience the beauty of kauai...you would be lucky to stay here.
We arrived late in the day and were immediately greeted by Ken. The facility was clean and comfortable and fresh fruit from their orchard awaited us. The kitchen, while quite small, is adequate for quick meals and breakfast coffee. There is no oven however, but a grill is available.
There really is very little privacy as the main house is in very close proximity and there are no blinds/drapes on the windows in the main room. The pool is not heated and was not cleaned the entire time we were there. It was very cold and we were not able to use it. The beach access is quite a steep distance down and the terrain is not safe for anyone other than the really physically fit/athlete. You can drive a long, steep dirt road to it, but again, walking really isn’t an option. Needless to say, we were very disappointed as these two features were great selling point for us.
The views are spectacular, and the property beautifully maintained. We were disappointed that the owners left the following day for a 2 week vacation leaving their daughter to house sit. Unfortunately, we had no contact information for her and no one to call with questions or concerns. There is no cable/TV, radio, or internet. There is a DVD player; however, the TV would only play in Black/White. That we found strange as it was a newer TV.
The north shore area is quaint and fun. Several good eating places and beach areas that were not too crowded. Chris is wealth of knowledge and her recommendations are spot-on. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time, this is a very nice and comfortable retreat. Get to know Cameron, the gardener. He is very friendly and quite knowledgeable. Don't forget to try some fruit right off the tree!
The property is located on top of a lush river valley, surrounded by tropical foliage, with views of the beach and the entire coast from the front yard. The path to the beach descends through the jungle along ancient walls. You will think you are alone in your perfect island fantasy. See linked web site for pictures and virtual tour of the view. Consider getting a Human Design reading from Chris, see www.liveyourdesignkauai.com, or a flower essence reading from Ken, www.starmen.com.
