The apartment was immaculately clean, tasefully decorated and had everything we needed including a very comfortable bed. Great views of the city and mountains from the balcony and loft bedroom windows. We experienced excelllent customer service - Alex met us at the apartment with the key after we telephoned him from the airport. He could not have been more helpful - gave us a map and advice on places to go and things to see. Having arrived late in the evening we were very grateful to find he had provided us with milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, snacks etc. He also recommended the BEST Tapas in Madrid - Mercado de San Miguel - 5 minutes walk from the apartment. After arriving at the La Latina Metro station, this was the last time we needed the Metro, as everything is accessible within a 20 minute walk. Walking around the city enables you to appreciate the stunning architecture, beautiftul parks, and the Spanish culture. There is a Supermarket 2 minutes walk from the apartment and you are spolit for choice of places to eat out at a very reasonable price (12 euros for 3 course lunch).
We would recommend a visit to: Plaza Mayor, Reina Sophia Museum (a must for Picasso & Dali fans), and the stunning Retiro Park.
