This lovely holiday home is brand new to the holiday home letting market from the Summer of 2014 & extremely well appointed. It is situated in a quiet yet enviable position within easy walking to the harbour, the town & stunning beaches. There are 2 bedrooms that comfortably caters for discerning families of up to 4 and the property is also ideal for couples looking for an extra special place in which to relax. There is driveway parking for 2 cars & if you are travelling by train the house could not be better located being just a couple of minutes walk away from Falmouth Town train station. Relax with a drink or al-fresco meal on the not overlooked, private garden decking.

Castle Beach is just 10 minutes walk away and offers rock pooling, diving and snorkelling or perhaps stroll further along the beach to reach the golden sands of Tunnel Beach & Gyllyngvase Beach with their renown beach cafes. Kayak & water sports hire facilities are based beach side and cater for all ages & levels of experience. Other attractions that are within easy walking distance include Pendennis Castle & The National Maritime Museum. Eating out is a joy with so much local choice that caters for all tastes & budgets all within walking distance - including Rick Stein's latest Cornish fish restaurant.

Facilities include WiFi, wall mounted flat screen Smart TV, DVD player, i-pod dock, fully equipped kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine, quality bed linen & house towels (just bring beach towels if needed). You'll also find a few treats to greet you!

Beautiful cottage in a great location

We had a wonderful week staying in this very well equipped and newly decorated/furnished cottage. It is located just a five minute walk from the town in one direction and also from the beach in the other. The beaches are lovely and clean (we even swam in the sea. In October!) and there are some beautiful walks nearby.

A real highlight was walking around the Lizard Peninsula - and also a trip to the Eden Project. Entry seems expensive until you get there and realise just how much there is to see. We spent 4 hours there and could easily have stayed even longer.

Falmouth itself is a great place to stay - the town is really pretty, with lots of interesting shops, and some great restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious seafood meal at The Hut, and also loved Rick Stein's Fish restaurant (we actually went back there a second time as the food was so good, and the prices very reasonable for the quality).

The cottage was very comfortable and had some lovely touches, such as a Smart TV with Netflix subscription - perfect for whiling away some lazy evenings in - and a free bottle of Prosecco on arrival (a very pleasant surprise!), as well as tea/coffee, milk and biscuits. The outside seating area was lovely, too. Could have done with a few extra cups/mugs, but the dishwasher helped with that issue!

All in all, highly recommended!

Beaches, castles, museums, galleries, parks, boat trips, rock pooling and ice creams. And that's just the first day of your holiday in Falmouth!

Falmouth is an engaging and fun base for all the family, with many of Cornwall's top attractions, beaches, walks and villages on the doorstep.

There are some terrific family friendly beaches with Castle Beach being the most northerly of all the Falmouth beaches, situated alongside Pendennis point. Rocky sections mean that at low tide it is regarded as an excellent beach for rock pooling as well as diving and snorkelling. As you walk way from the Pendennis Point end of the beach, rock pools give way to golden sand as the beach joins Tunnel Beach. Castle Beach Cafe provides hot and cold drinks, ice creams, pasties & light meals. There is a large sun deck area, together with a timber framed canopy with tables and chairs. The shop sells beach balls, buckets and spades and also provides deck chair hire. Further along Gyllyngvase Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Falmouth being a Blue Flag status beach, with its wide arc of golden sand and inviting sea. Great amenities, with award winning cafe, yet still only a 10 minute walk away from Falmouth town centre. Gylly Beach Cafe is built over the beach and offers fantastic views from its sun drenched terrace and is open all year round. The Cafe prides itself on using local produce and best environmental practice. Perfect place for a romantic meal or a family gathering by the beach.

Gyllyngvase Beach is also linked via the South West Coast Path to Swanpool Beach and Nature Reserve. This is a delightful cove with adjoining Swanpool Lake Nature Reserve being a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Excellent water sport centre where you can try your hand at dinghy sailing, kayaking or windsurfing. Bouncy castle located on the beach during the summer months for the smaller children. The Award winning Swan pool Beach Cafe serves a great selection of teas, coffees, sandwiches and ice-creams whilst Elemantal UK Water sports school is based at Swan pool beach and operates all year round catering for groups large and small, teaching and offering for hire: sailing, kayaking, canoeing, coasteering lessons & raft building.

Equally, there are some lovely parks and gardens in Falmouth, perfect for a stroll or picnic. include Gyllyngvase Gardens, Fox Rosehill Gardens, Queen Mary Gardens & the 7 acre estate of Kimberley Park.

Modern.light & airy. This lovely house coastal home is brand new in 2014 being semi-detached & offering driveway parking for 2 good sized cars & a delightful private garden retreat. The front door leads to an hallway with cloak room to one side & leading onto the open plan kitchen, dining & lounge area. The kitchen is fully equipped even having a wine cooler! The dining area has French doors opening onto a private decking area with outside seating & steps down to a lovely private lawn garden. The lounge area has a office/desk area to one side. Stairs lead up to the first floor where the two bedrooms & family bathroom are situated. You will love this cosy, modern home by the sea!
