Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cabin in North Dakota - Blue Blanket Creek Lodge

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

Blue Blanket Creek Lodge offers four season outdoorsman's lodging. For South Dakota hunting and fishing you'll want to be near or on the Missouri River. Mobridge South Dakota is the preferred destination for the true outdoorsman. Make Blue Blanket Creek Lodge your lodging accommodation of choice. Pack your fishing and hunting equipment and head to Mobridge, South Dakota.

ICE FISHING - When the weather turns cold the fishing turns hot on Lake Oahe. Some of the finest ice fishing in the country is between Walth Bay and Pollock. Blue Blanket Creek Lodge is close to the action and a very comfortable place to spend an evening after a day on the ice. WALLEYE FISHING - Walleye fishing (along with many other species) is a great sport. Lake Oahe near the Mobridge area is one of South Dakota’s finest fisheries. Blue Blanket Creek Lodge is only 10 minutes away from two boat ramps. It’s a comfortable and economical place for groups of four or more to stay while fishing Lake Oahe. PHEASANT and WATERFOWL HUNTING - Pheasant and goose hunting are second to none in this part of South Dakota. There are over 50,000 acres of public hunting in Walworth County alone! The BBC Lodge/public hunting combination makes for a very economical hunt, but guided hunts are available.Make Blue Blanket Creek Lodge your home away from home. Comfort and convenience. About Gregg Hubner

Gregg & Marsha Hubner are South Dakota born and raised, growing up in the farming and ranching business, and always enjoying the outdoors. Today Gregg continues his career in real estate, including auctions, appraisals and real estate sales. Marsha is a devoted wife/mother/grandmother and together we raised our four children (3 are still in South Dakota). She enjoys music and leads several Ladies Bible Studies each year. We team up in the spring and fall to do some farming, which we also enjoy. Our oldest son Jesse, and his wife Jaimie are the caretakers of Blue Blanket Creek Lodge. Our greatest reward from owning the lodge since 2006 is getting feedback through e mails and letters of successful walleye fishing and pheasant or deer hunting from people many states away that probably only have that one opportunity a year to enjoy the outdoors in this way. We truly understand that everybody doesn't want to spend the money it takes to stay at a full service lodge and hunt pen raised pheasants and be bussed around and told when to shoot and when to sit. At BBCL you have the freedom of being on your own schedule and making your own memories. It must be working, as we have had the same groups coming back every year since 2006. Give us a try sometime.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Gregg,

My wife and I returned home to Seattle last night...we had a great time at your lodge! It’s a beautiful place and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We extend our compliments to you and your wife (and whoever else was involved) for decorating it in such an inviting and tasteful way. Every detail was carefully thought of, right down to the night light covers! It’s truly a beautiful place.

The pheasant hunting was spectacular...I had not trouble getting a limit each day. The birds were pretty jumpy in some areas since the cold and snow has them flocked up in such large numbers. It was fun, though, to see such large numbers of birds, even if they were jumping out of range. On several occasions, I kicked up 25 or more pheasants at a time. That’s something that we just don’t have in the State of Washington. We have pheasant hunting, but a full day of work might put up 3 or 4 roosters. I spotted that many from the deck of your cabin!

Thanks again, and we look forward to returning next year. Are you taking reservations yet? We would be interested in dates in late October or early November. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

. . . . . Cary"

Best lodging in Mobridge area by far. Clean, spacious and comfortable cabin for a group of hunters or fisherman. We've fished the Mobridge area for over a decade and are very glad that we've finally found a place like this. The owner makes it very simple and convenient to make reservations and deposits, etc..

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 out of 5
We used to go to Canada fishing every other year, but the group decided to fish in South Dakota this time around. The house looked a little small from the outside, but once inside, the layout it excellent and easily exceeded our expectations. It is very modern and clean. We will definitely be heading back sometime soon.

Outstanding Lodging with Accomodating and Friendly Owner

  • 5 out of 5
This was our 3rd consecutive year to stay at Blue Blanket Creek Lodge for our annual pheasant hunting trip. We have our own dogs (3 German Shorthairs and 1 Black Lab) and the enclosed garage is a great place to park our dog trailer and let the dogs get a warm nights sleep. The facility is always very clean and is well appointed. The view of Lake Oahe from the deck is outstanding.

We have had one occasion where we were in jeopardy of losing our deposit due to excessive amounts of dog hair in the lodge. We had a situation where our black lab sustained a significant injury and we chose to treat her, and let her sleep, in the lodge. After explaining the situation to the lodge’s owner he willingly refunded our full deposit. The owner has always been very helpful, friendly and accommodating to any special needs and/or requests we have.

Blue Blanket Creek Lodge has set a high bar for our future lodging expectations. This is why we don't plan to stay anywhere else.

An excellent lodge/cabin in the Mobridge area. Very private and spacious with good accomodations and extras like kitchen equipment, grill, etc.. We have been coming to the Mobridge area for fishing for over 10 years and this easily is the nicest place we have stayed at. The process to rent and pay for the lodge was hassle free with excellent communication from the owner.

my group has stayed at the lodge for the past several years for pheasant hunting and fishing. Since our first visit the lodge has exceeded our expectations in appearance, amenities and maintenance. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Great Place to Stay for Mid Season Pheasant

  • 5 out of 5
Comfortable lodging with all the furnishings. Stayed over Thanksgiving and was able to prepare a holiday feast with the kitchen utensils provided. The out building was a great place for storing gear and keeping the dogs.

And the Pheasant hutting was amazing, within walking distance.

Definitely considering a return trip!

The Mobridge/Glenham area is next to Lake Oahe (Missouri River). Hunting and fishing are the predominant outdoor activities. Mobridge boasts of its 'world class' walleye fishing, with several major tournaments held throughout the year.
