Barely an hour from London, Camber Sands is a wonderful five-mile stretch of golden beach, located only a four-minute walk from the cottage. Whatever the season - or weather - it's beautiful, with open skies and wonderful sunsets. The medieval town of Rye is three miles away, with a rich heritage dating back to Norman times.
The area offers something for everyone – walking and birdwatching, art, antiques, fascinating history and architecture, and excellent restaurants. Dungeness -'The Seventh Continent' - is an extraordinary landscape and the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway will appeal to all ages. The historic churches of Romney Marsh are stunning; it's not far to historic Hastings and Battle. Further afield are Brighton, Lewes, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, which offer entertainment, shopping and history.
There are local festivals throughout the year, including the Scallop Festival in February, the Jazz festival in August, the Rye Arts Festival in October and Rye's famous Bonfire Parade in November.
Bookings are welcomed all year round! Camber Sands are beautiful at any time of year and whatever the weather.

About Andrew Bamji
One Sunday five years ago we came for lunch with friends in Badger Way. We had a long walk on Camber Sands, an excellent lunch and saw the estate's show house. It had never been our intention to have a seaside house, but the next day we spoke to the agent and reserved Whitebeam Cottage, which we named after the whitebeam tree in the front garden.
We have spent many happy weekends and holidays here. In fact we came to love the area so much that we moved to the centre of Rye. Whether for a holiday, weekend break or special event, we are sure that you will love your time here too!
Andrew Bamji purchased this house in 2009
