Spring Break with family at Asheville Mountain Chateaux

  • 5 of 5

We vacation every Spring Break with the whole family. We are a total of 11 plus pets. Important is the rental of a house that allows pets. They are part of our family and we don't leave home without them. After finding this large rental and the fact that we could bring our pets - that sold us!! This home is exceptional. Not only very large, roomy and comfortable but set on top of the highest mountain in Black Mountain. The views from the decks were amazing! With the two levels, there was always room to relax and enjoy a evening of Television or reading while downstairs you could relax as well, while others played pool or enjoyed the hot tub! One of the greatest was the access to 4 bathrooms, no waiting!! The large kitchen had this great Island where you could definitely do your set up and cooking. Two great large SS refrigerators!! So handy for that extra food and drinks when you have a large group. Another important area was the very large wash machine plus two dryers!!! Great help when you have a large group using up the towels!

Once down the mountain you could enjoy the town of Black Mountain with many cute shops - many selling local crafts. Then there's Asheville -with the Biltmore Estate and so many Craft Beer Breweries. Of course there's White Water Rafting, Zip Lining and Ghost Tours just to name a few.

All in all, the family, this Spring Break and a wonderful time in a wonderful large mountain home.

Great Big Family Under 1 Roof at the Asheville Chateaux

  • 5 of 5

Our Family Reunion of 15 adults & 3 Children spent at Kelley's Asheville Mtn. Chateaux was Fun! It started with a minor "snafu"; cleaning crew mix-up upon arrival but Kelley made it up to us, by offering for us to stay an extra night. Great Customer Service! Plenty of beds for us all and we mainly congregated in the upper level, with enough seating and table/chairs. The fireplace was cozy and the kitchen allowed us all to help each other cook and get food ready. Clothes Washer was extra large and came in handy for a big group like ours. There were also 2 dryers! The room we stayed in and my MIL's room had portable heaters (which came in handy) and added the extra warmth we wanted. We visited "The Biltmore Candlelight" and decided to purchase the headsets to complete our tour....would recommend. We also went to Linville Caverns and the kids enjoyed it. (long lines but they ran quite smoothly/guides provided interesting info). A group of us chose to go Ziplining and were able to at The Gorge! What an experience with awesome guides (Ben & Keegan)!! Ate at an awesome place called Green River Barbecue for an early dinner and other members ate lunch at The Purple Onion (both Fantastic)!! Visited Asheville to shop and ate at Farm Burger & a restaurant next door (both were excellent). Another day we went to the historic Grove Park Inn and saw the Gingerbread House Competition and beautiful Christmas trees throughout this breathtaking Inn! Worth the visit especially this time of year! For an X-Large group, this Vacation Rental Home will accommodate you. Kitchen was stocked with what we needed, enough towels, chairs for dinners, etc. 2 Door entrances, entry level for elderly and families with small children (luggage, etc). Couches and some furniture (coffee table) show their age, but for me it just shows how much fun having an entire group under 1 roof can be! It met my expectations and Kelley the owner responded to emails/calls promptly and provided us with answers to our questions! Enjoy your stay!

The best house for a wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 8 in the house to celebrate a milestone birthday, and it was the perfect place for us. There are plenty of rooms, and they're well-enough spread out that people get a good bit of privacy. The kitchen is large and great to work in, and there's plenty of seating to let big parties eat together. The space is relaxing and comfortable - big while still cozy. And those views!

The upstairs and downstairs are pretty sound-proofed, so I imagine it would be a great place to ship a bunch of teenagers off to one floor, while adults stayed on the other. There are massive TVs (we never used them once - there's so much else to do), games, puzzles, and books - and the great outdoors to entertain you. It's close to Asheville, but when you have Black Mountain right down the road, that's nearly all you need! Go to the Dripolator - you won't be sorry!

Kelley was a very helpful host, both in advance and when we ran into wi-fi firmware updates that gave us a momentary hiccup with getting logged on. After a quick call with her, it was all sorted out. It was a terrific experience, beginning to end, and I very much look forward to finding time to come back.

Great mountain escape! Beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend at the Chateaux with a big group of friends and were very pleased. It's a bit of a drive up the road but WOW is it worth it! The views from the deck are amazing and we were able to watch the fog roll in and out of the valley over the lake during the sunrise. Amazing. The house was in great shape with a ton of kitchen and eating space for bigger groups like ours. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. We would definitely stay at this house again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun getaway in the Asheville and Black Mountain area.

Fantastic Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

Our group maxed out the bed space in the house, but it was still so much space and so fun to all be together in one place. The house is well stocked and comfortable and the hosts are very helpful and accommodating. We look forward to our next group 'retreat' and will be sure to remember this house and the host's hospitality.

Weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our weekend getaway with four other couples. The kitchen and living areas were perfect gathering places for our large group. There were more bedrooms than we needed, but it worked out great. While we had plans to go into Asheville, we actually never made it there because we found the town of Black Mountain to be charming and it offered great food and entertainment options. We went on a hike, explored a local brewery, and had delicious (and cheap!) food right down the street from the house.
