About Laurie and Tom Edes
Tom & I met at the age of 12, the 1st day of 7th grade and became best friends and soul mates. We dated from 7th -11th grade and went our separate ways after high school graduation. We re-met 33 years later through classmate.com and the rest is history! We married in 2003 and love living at the lake when we aren't off sailing along the beautiful coast of Maine in our 40 foot sailboat.
Laurie and Tom Edes purchased this cottage in 2006
Why Laurie and Tom Edes chose Bangor
We purchased our home on Pushaw Lake in 2005 as a weekend retreat. We were living in southern Maine and found that every time we came to the lake we didn't want to leave. We decided to sell our home in Westbrook and move to the lake full-time in early 2006. When the property next door became available we purchased it and turned it into our King Pine Cottage so others could come and enjoy the peace and beauty of the lake. We have enjoyed meeting guests from all over the USA, Canada, England, Switzerland, and Germany.
What makes this cottage unique
Nearly every window in the King Pine Cottage provides a view of the water. The cottage sits within 15 feet of the water's edge and the sound of the waves gently lapping the shore is so peaceful. The loons arrive as soon as the ice is out and the males call for their mates as evening sets in. It is an awesome setting!
Guestbook comments from the owner
As written in our guest book at the cottage: "thank you for renting us your piece of paradise for our honeymoon. We absolutely love it here! The view is breathtaking any time of day. Thank you very much for being the only place we found where we could leave our "boys: while we were out on our adventures. It is so reassuring to be able to bring our canine family with us. We look forward to coming back."
