George, the area capital, has vast, modern shopping malls, beautiful fresh local produce to take home to cook, cinemas etc. Just out of the town are the world famous golf courses, including Fancourt. Knysna, the oyster capital of the region, offers a charming waterfront, olde worlde shopping and memorable dining experiences. It is the little Cape Town of the Garden Route. From here you can sail, fish or people watch on the seafront. If you have children, there are numerous Wildlife Animal Parks nearby, where you can experience close encounters, touching and feeding ostriches, elephants, even crocs, lion and cheetah cubs. Golf: The Garden Route, one of South Africa’s top attractions is a scenic coastal region along its southernmost coast.
