Photos and Description of this 7 bedroom holiday villa in Salo - Palazzo Terzi Martinengo
7 Bedrooms, 6 Bathrooms, Private Park, Helipad
August 2014: International Travel Specialist Andrew Harper has selected this property to be listed on Luxury Rentals.
This lakeside palazzo was built in the 1560's circa and is classified as a National monument.
Available for rental this year for the first time, it boasts of beautiful original floorings, 6 to 9 meter high cedar ceilings, vast luxurious reception rooms and bedrooms, an imposing loggia with statues, fountains, gardens with Japanese magnolias and cypresses, and its own beaches.
The house has seven extremely spacious bedrooms, which once upon a time were the reception rooms; four of these give onto a balcony situated on the first floor, another double bedroom gives directly onto the garden - these rooms are all adorned with century year old bougainvilleas and breathtaking views onto the lake.
The bathrooms have been recently renovated, together with it the central heating and water system.
The grand sitting room, loggia, drawing room and game room with its cinema screen are all points of attraction during the stay according to climate.
Built under the Republic of Venice, briefly the home of the British Ambassador to Queen Victoria, occupied by the Napoleonic troops then those of Garibaldi, these are but a few of the historical episodes of this home.

Together with my husband, we have done extensive restoration works on this property which lasted four years. As we had successfully let another property in Rome listed with Homeaway n.1042916, an unusual home in town, we also decided to list this home for the first time this year.
This property, built in 1560, has been in my husband's family since the 1650's. It has an incredible history with many events that happened in the very rooms that are displayed. It became a national monument in the early 1900's. Today it combines modern day comfort with the elegance of a 16th century palace.
The palazzo is a romantic lake front retreat, with innumerable sport activities, and is located near three World Heritage cities; Verona, Mantova and Brescia.
