Some consider Lovat Lane the least spoiled and the most gorgeous interior in the City, all the more endearing because it is tucked away among cobbled alleys, paved passages and brick walls.

Sightseers can take advantage of Monument Serviced Apartments’ close proximity to both historical and modern architectural points of interest, along with local pubs and cafes. And with Monument Underground Station just a two-minute walk, you are easily connected by public transportation and can get around at a moment’s notice, should the need arise.

• Monument to the Great Fire of London (3-minute walk) — Simply known as “The Monument,” the Doric style column commemorates the Great Fire of London and stands at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill. It stands 62 metres (202 feet) tall and 62 metres from the place where the Great Fire is believed to have started on 2 September 1666. Visitors who climb the 311 steps to the balcony at the top are rewarded with breathtaking views of the City, as well as a certificate of achievement.

• St. Mary-at-Hill (3-minute walk) — St. Mary-at-Hill is a Church of England founded at the end of the 11th century. It was later rebuilt by Dr. (later Sir) Christopher Wren after London’s Great Fire.

• The Shard (11-minute walk) — The Shard is an 87-storey skyscraper that forms part of the London Bridge Quarter development.
