Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Hackney - Britannia Building
2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Colourful, Contemporary And Cosy Home With A Cinema Room
We’re not blustering when we say Britannia Building is a home very much worth your time. Right by the bohemian hangouts of Hoxton Square, this home is less Pomp and Circumstance, more Young and Creative. There’s a palette of trendy turquoises and of reds, whites and blues, and within the building a communal cinema room and an on-site gym. And once you have finished ruling the urban waves for the day, return to this calm berth of England, where peace and quiet never fall out of fashion.
This happy breed
Your hosts may hail from Greece and the USA, but theirs is an ardent love for everything London – they even gave their baby the very regal name of George. A computer scientist and a lawyer, they like little better than winding down in the boutiques, cafés and pubs of their vibrant quarter.
While Shoreditch imbibes its coffee, when you step into this home you’ll want to ring for tea. The sitting room is admirably elegant, and not without its playful flourishes – an eastern throw here, an eye-catching wall mural there.
Draw the cork from a bottle of red wine, or linger over nibbles on the communal roof terrace of a sunny afternoon. And if the kitchen is sleek and modern, then the master bedroom and study turned double are as restful as any retiring lady or gentleman could wish for.

About Owner / Property Manager
onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.
Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.
Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.
Why Owner / Property Manager chose Hackney
Shoreditch has been declared ‘over’ more times than Madonna. And shown similar bounce-backability. Just when you think its become too bridge-and-tunnel to be credible, another great new bar (try Well & Bucket and the 5cc Cocktail Club downstairs), restaurant (try Casa Negra or The Clove Club ), or pop-up store (try ‘Beach in the East’) pops up and convinces you again that Shoreditch is a throbbing loci of cool.
Set just north of the City, the area was pretty much a desolate no-man’s land just 20 years ago (though it has always been a favoured quarter of artists looking for cheap studio space in empty warehouses). Then came SoHo-ification and waves of bars and clubs have come and gone since (as has the White Cube gallery on Hoxton Square, leaving the area’s defining landmark temporarily vacant).
Redchurch Street is the new retail hot spot with rumours that the luxury goods groups are set to move in en masse and join the likes of APC and Aesop, while Shoreditch House(see below) still provides a suitable HQ and hang-out for the area’s tattoo-and-laptop entrepreneurs.
Indeed, behind the buzzy bars and snappy stores, Shoreditch has become the preferred home of tech and new media companies in London with the area around Old Street Station dubbed ‘Silicon Roundabout’.
What makes this apartment unique
Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.
Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.
Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.
And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
