A Villa With Private Pool, Located 800m From The Centre Of Kalives Village

Dionysus Villa is locates outside Kalyves Village, 250m from the beach of Kyani Akti. The beach is sandy and shallow and not very organized; however, there are some umbrellas and sun loungers, one tavern and cafes. About 1km away starts the organized beach of Kalyves with umbrellas, sun loungers, water sports and lifeguards. The biggest super market of the village is located 250m away from the villa, while in the village there are many restaurants, cafes, butcher, bakery, drag store and all kinds of shops.

The beautiful outdoor area of the villa is ideal for relaxation and romantic moments. A wooden outdoor dining set is placed under the pergola, while the palm and pine trees cast their shadow over the grass and the sitting set. There are sun loungers around the private pool and outdoor sets at the balconies and the garden. The view over the Souda Bay is majestic, especially at night when the lights of Akrotiri shine on the waters...

The wooden ceiling, the stone arches and walls, the ceiling lights and the beautiful decoration create an impressive interior. The ground floor consists of the sitting area, the dining set, the kitchen and one bathroom. All beds are found on the mezzanine floor; the double bed is separated from the twin beds with a wooden partition. One more bathroom is found on this floor.

Kalives is a coastal village, located at the entrance of Souda Bay, 17km away from the city of Chania. It belongs to Apokoronas region, the greenest and most unspoiled area of the Prefecture of Chania. The village is bound on one side by the sea and on the other side by low hills with dense vegetation.

The village is divided into two parts; the old and the new one. The old village consists of traditional stone houses built on each side of the main road, opening directly on to it, on narrow streets and on pedestrian paths. The new village has more modern structures. The village has expanded, but still you can go everywhere on foot.

A sandy, shallow and organized beach with blue flag and a lifeguard runs along the east side of the village. The waters are deep blue and crystal clear. The beach is hidden behind trees and benches are placed in their shadow. For the lovers of water’s sports there is a water sport centre. The beach ends to a quaint fishing port. There are several taverns and restaurants across the seashore and to the village square with the four hundred years old pine tree, where you can taste local specialties and fresh fish.

Kalives is an ideal choice if you are looking for peaceful and relaxing vacations by the sea. There are few traditional coffee shops – kafenio in Greek - and some music-cafe-bars, but no big clubs or music bars. The beautiful old part of the village with the narrow streets and the tiled houses full of roses and jasmines is the perfect place for those who love walking. The streets lead to the old Byzantine church of Holly Mary with the nice forecourt and ancient frescoes.

The village is also an excellent starting point for excursions to the surrounding area. Some of the worth seeing neighbour villages are Almirida, a maritime village with two sandy and shallow organized beaches, Plaka, an unspoiled village renowned for its taverns - all set around the village square - and their excellent home-made food, Vamos, the capital of the region and a traditional mountain village and Gavalochori with the renovated in traditional style houses.
