Melissa and I (Clyde) take pleasure in providing a wilderness retreat where people can unwind, enjoy nature, and come closer together. The Alpine Cottage is a quality place where this can happen.
Melissa lived in this area for about 20 years and loves the mountain wilderness. Her favorite spot is Lake McDonald, by Apgar Village, a short drive from the retreat.
Whether you're looking for an unforgettable family reunion, or a delightful vacation for a smaller group, we have the place for you.
We stayed at the cottage with our three year old twins and had an excellent time. The girls loved the little sleeping nooks. It was comfortable, elegant, and well stocked. Just lovely with perfect access to everything worth seeing and doing in the valley. It would be perfect for either a romantic getaway or a family like ours. We will be back.
Perfect location. Just 10 minutes to West Entrance to Glacier National Park. Located right in the heart of the Flathead National Forrest. It is the perfect get-a-way. We loved it. Everyone was so gracious and we loved Clyde and Melissa. Hope to come back soon
When I arrived, the scenery took my breath away!!! So beautiful, it was if God had tucked a 20 acre parcel of heaven right here in the woods.
Picture majestic mountains, summer meadows full of wildflowers, tall timbers reaching toward a bright, blue sky..........chubby little bumble bees among the lavender, sweet orange and yellow butterflies dancing in the summer warmth. We haven't even gone inside yet!!!
What a wonderful place for a group, couple or if you just need to spend some time alone.
The interior was warm, inviting and very nicely appointed. The sheets were soft, the down comforters warm and the bathrobes snuggly!!! Floor-to-Ceiling windows make the space perfectly light & bright and can coax you into an unexpected nap before you know it!!!
When was the last time you enjoyed a large family breakfast or dinner around an enormous table with filled with family, friends, love, joy and laughter??? It reminds you to slow down and enjoy the truly important things in life.
Of all the rentals I've enjoyed over the years this one was the most impressive, the owners are caring, wonderful people who've shared their sense of taste and style in this lovely mountain retreat. Every detail has been considered for the guests comfort and enjoyment!!!
I look forward to the next visit with great anticipation!!!
We had a delightful time! The scenery was magnificent! The lodge was very comfortable. We wish we could've stayed longer. It will defiantly be in future travel plans. It was a home away from home.
The cottage suited our family of four very nicely. The location and amenities were fantastic. It was the simplest and smoothest VRBO transaction I've ever experienced, which was refreshing. I will caution that you're only separated from the main house by some locked interior doors and, depending on your neighbors, it might be noisy at times. We didn't mind the noise, but our kids did have a hard time sleeping in the loft because we couldn't block the light from the skylights. Other than that, the place was great and I'd stay there again.
We had a family reunion at the Mountain Cleft Retreat. It was wonderful. The main purpose was to spend time with family and the retreat came through. There was a lot of rain in the park during our late June week, so it was nice to have a place to get together out of the weather.
There is a large bunk room downstairs that the children enjoyed. The upstairs living room was more plush for the grown-ups. The dining room was big enough for all of us (7 kids, some with spouses and grandkids). The books were great.
The owners were very kind and easy to work with. I was pleased with our selection.
Mountain Cleft Retreat is surrounded by national forest. Wildlife is abundant, especially in the Spring. Two forks of the Flathead River merge nearby where you can find a locally favorite fishing spot. Glacier National Park property is about 3/4 of a mile away as the crow flies. The West Entrance to the park is just 8 miles by road.
