This apartment has been completely refurbished in December 2013 and January 2014 and also boasts new furniture, equipment, linen etc throughout, own wifi signal, central heating and has a real touch of style.

With a huge private terrace of 40 m2 (about 430 ft square) there is room for all to sunbathe and dine whilst keeping an eye on the kids in the pool immediately below the terrace. The terrace faces across the Mijas Valley and the views are stunning. The terrace also has fully retractable overhead sun blinds which one can open or close in seconds depending on whether you want sun or shade at any time.

The lounge/diner has cream/lemon walls, black leather sofas for 6, super black and clear glass coffee table with chrome finishing, matching sideboard and TV table, extendible glass and chrome dining table with modern leatherette chairs.

In the period from May to October, the most important 'room' is almost certainly the terrace. Unlike most apartments, this one boasts a huge terrace of 40 m2, which is bigger than the lounge in fact, and will no doubt be where guests will spend most of their time. This terrace overlooks the community pool (approx 60m2) and gardens which have plenty of room for sunbathing. The pool is open from April to October each year. The private terrace has plenty of space for sunbathing (sun beds), dining and relaxing for all. Barbecue and all of the necessary furniture and equipment are provided.

The 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and one twin) are beautifully done and the two full bathrooms mean no queues or crowding. One double and the twin room face onto the huge private terrace and the other double faces onto the rear private terrace.

There are two full bathrooms each including full-sized baths with overhead showers and screens, bidet, WC and sink with bathroom cabinets and large mirrors. Both are fully tiled from floor to ceiling.

The kitchen is some 12 m2 with fridge-freezer, gas hob and oven, granite worktop, plenty of cupboards and is fully-equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, pots pans, cutlery, crockery, glasses etc, microwave, cafeteria etc.

There is no separate utility room. However, to the rear of the kitchen, there is a second private terrace of some 18 m2 very handy for drying washing, keeping beach and pool equipment etc.

The apartment is ideal for guests using wheelchairs or with mobility difficulties because from the street to the apartment is all on one level. The terrace however is some 5 metres (16 ft) above the community garden so there is no security issue.

The apartment is located within Fuengirola and is a walk to all of the town's amenities..aqua park, zoo, beach, shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping mall, skateboard park, children's play park, port, 1200 year old Moorish castle.

Fuengirola is 20kms from Malaga (new port, Picasso museum, cathedral), 15 kms from Torremolinos (party town), 20 kms Marbella (old town, boutiques, golden mile), 10kms from Benalmadena (Tivoli World theme park, Cable car) and about 115kms from Gibraltar.

The changeover day each week in the period from May to September is Sunday. In the remainder of the year, the changeover day can be more flexible. Arrival time is 2pm (14.00 hours) and departure time by 10am (10.00 hours).

I have been advertising on this site since 2007 (ref s6575) and am a British Chartered Accountant and I came to live and work in Spain in 1998 after a long-ish career in corporate finance. On arriving in Spain, as a complete change of lifestyle, I opened a very successful French restaurant which I later sold very well. I then owned and ran a small, successful real estate office but closed it when the property market went quiet here in 2007. I earlier lived for 16 years in Belgium and speak French and an improving Spanish too.

I am a friendly and approachable guy and I want to make sure that my guests are happy with everything and, thankfully, I seem to succeed in that. I expect high standards when I go on holiday and I always assume that my guests expect the same from me.

I live just a few minutes away in the centre of Fuengirola.

I bought this property in December 2013 because it is superbly located so close to the beach, shops, bars, restaurants etc and yet is within a quiet, secure low-rise complex with super, well-maintained community pool and gardens. The size of the terrace is exceptional and provides space for everyone to relax, dine, sunbathe whilst enjoying the ability to oversee the kids at the pool below and enjoy the stunning views over the gardens and pool to the Mijas Valley and the mountains. Although there is also private underground parking, no car is necessary because all of that which one needs is within easy walking distance.

Tranquillity, location, amazing views, lots of private space inside and outside, privacy, wheelchair access, private secure parking, no noise from passers-by either on foot or by car, either in the daytime or the night-time, are all attributes that make this an exceptional property. The size and layout of the apartment with 107 m2 of accommodation plus 40 m2 of private terrace boasting two bathrooms and a good-sized kitchen show that it was clearly designed for permanent family living rather than just as a bolt hole for holidays. There are certainly other properties that can boast some of these attributes but only a few that can boast all of them.

JUST WONDERFUL

We just spent a lovely week at this apartment and it was such a pleasant change from our previous experiences of renting on the Costa del Sol. David’s apartment is refurbished and beautifully furnished and has all the mod cons you need. Two things also stood out…the huge terrace which we spent most of our time on and the peace and quiet of the complex (and the great pool there) even though it was just a few minutes walk from the sea front. Such a pleasant change from trying to sleep with noisy drunks outside all night like last year when we stayed on the sea front.The shopping centre was only five minutes on foot away too so we had a great relaxing holiday and intend book at David’s apartment again.

COMFORTABLE APT. WITH NICE TERRACE AND VIEWS

Clean apt.with good facilities. The landlord, David was most helpful. The terrace was large and sunny with good views. The pool and gardens were immaculate and I was able to swim most days in April. The apt is quite elevated but there is a pleasant walk down to a large shopping mall. The walk back up was a little strenuous, but there is a seat halfway where you can rest. We are in our seventies and coped quite easily. We walked into Fuengirola most days for exercise and meals. We enjoyed our holiday and will come again

This apartment is a new listing this year for me (I also have ref 74816 since 2007) and I have had two top-rated reviews so far and am very pleased. I think the apartment is superbly situated, avoiding all of the day and night time noise of traffic and revellers but within walking distance of it all and also of the beach (400 metres) and the big local shopping mall (Myramar) and a host of other amenities (aqua park, skateboard park, crazy golf, children's park, castle etc and dozens of restaurants, bars and clubs). The apartment also has full central heating, rare on the Costa del Sol, which makes it ideal for winter stays too.

LOVELY QUIET APARTMENT WITH STUNNING VIEWS

We were Davids first quests, there to meet us and on time. 10/10 for the apartment and facilities, all as pictured and described. The terrace is a real feature but too cluttered.
7/10 for ease of apartment to find, and is at top of a hill which is not in the description, not really suitable for people with mobility problems, the walk down through the gardens is lovely, the walk back is hard work.
4/10 Television would only display the test card no matter how we tried every chanell was the same!, No safe for valuables although the apartment is very secure.

Would we stay here again, Yes and No We had real proplems up and down the gardens to get to the amenities, both over 60 one with serious health problems, if you are hiring a car or prepared to use Taxis, great, otherwise the clime is no good if you have mobility problems.
Overall our stay was lovely, and we had fantastic weather, I would recommend to anyone and David is very obliging 10/10

Owner's Response: Many thanks to these, my first guests, for their review, especially the 10/10 scoring. The reviewers were two elderly people, one suffering from emphysema and the other somewhat obese so I can understand that the short upward slope that leads to the apartment may have felt to them like a 'climb' but, to most, it really isn't.
The terrace is huge at 40m2, boasts 6 sun beds, a gas-fired BBQ plus small serving table, an extendible dining table and 6 chairs plus a two person swing seat. It also has many beautiful flowers and plants. It is fully-equipped for 6 persons not just for 2.
Sky TV switched to a new satellite in February this year and all of the main UK channels disappeared from Spain. However, I have now set up a Spanish TV service which incorporates a facility for all foreign programmes to be shown in their original language which is often English. There is also a DVD player plus a 40watt iPod docking station/CD/Radio.
I have not had a safe fitted simply because, in my other rental property, there were so many problems with guests losing keys or forgetting combinations. I am currently looking for an economical solution with a master override key. In the meantime, the apartment is very secure...for example, the front door has bolts that go into both sides of the doorframe.
Suggesting the apartment is hard to find is just silly. I supplied the full address 8 weeks in advance. The guests told me that friends, who live in Fuengirola, were driving them from the airport to the apartment. It transpires that the friends did not know the specific area so, instead of asking for directions, they chose to drive around without a satnav until they happened upon the right place.
I and my small cleaning and maintenance team do our utmost to maintain high standards and we are pleased with the 10/10 for the apartment and facilities.

Fuengirola is one of the most popular of all of the Costa del Sol towns and boasts a very complete infrastructure. There are 7 kms of continuous sea front promenade and beaches, loads of water sports and other activities, hundreds of bars and restaurants of all standards, many nightclubs, a super zoo, a port, an aqua park, a skateboard park, a children's play park, live theatre, huge shopping mall, many supermarkets and boutiques, a train station linking Fuengirola to all of the towns and resorts between Fuengirola and Malaga including Benalmadena and Torremolinos.

Within a short drive from the town are golf courses, an impressive go kart track, Tivoli World theme park, Cable car to mountain top, another aqua park, equestrian centre and paragliding.

Malaga is just 20kms away and the city is well worth a visit especially the cathedral and the Picasso museum. Gibraltar, Granada (Alhambra palace), Marbella, Ronda, Cordoba, Sevilla and many other places are all accessible via car hire, bus or excursion trips.

Despite being within walking distance to the beach and the town and its many facilities and amenities, the apartment is located in a quiet complex with no disturbance daytime or night-time from motor vehicles or noisy nighttime revellers along the seafront...but you could join them within 5 minutes if you wanted to.
