My husband and I arrived in Mallorca with our three little boys (8,6, and 4) in April. The house, Son Palou, is on a gorgeous piece of property just outside the adorable village of Alaro. The house was clean, and had a beautiful modern kitchen and updated bathrooms. However, the rest of the house kept the feel of the original manor, built in 1600s - there is an oil press, chapel and old well, among other amazing architectural details. We had plenty of room to spread out in the 5 comfortable bedrooms and my boys had lots to explore around the property. That being said, we did need a car to explore Mallorca. However, the house is centrally located and we could take the train or drive into Palma in 15 minutes and also explore the other mountains and beaches around the island.
I would go back in a heartbeat - gorgeous house, great for kids, felt like a home away from home for my family. Truly and special place to stay.
Our week long stay at the Manor House, Alaro was one of the most enjoyable trips ever. As a family of four, including two young children we were able to relax, be entertained, travel around with ease and enjoy some beautiful sights and locations.
The substantial property itself was spotless inside and included all mod cons. The rooms were well equipped with many items that kept the children (and adults) occupied at all times. Outside there are beautiful walks to be had - taking in the wonderful views, smelling the sweet scent of flowers and picking your own fruit and nuts was such a delight.
We particularly enjoyed our trips to Palma, Deia, Valldemossa and the scenic train/tram ride to Port de Soller
The owners, Michelle and Chris were charming, it was great to be able to draw upon their local knowledge of the area to see the very best that Mallorca has to offer. We look forward to returning there again in the near future.
We would of course recommend such a splendid and spacious location to all our friends and family.
