Malahide is picturesque maritime village enjoys a blend of contemporary chic with old-school Irish charm that is as unique as it is captivating earning itself a reputation as a seriously upmarket and cosmopolitan coastal village.
The property is a convenient 15 minutes from both Dublin airport and the city centre, in a whisper quiet location overlooking a green, and with park and water views from the private sunny, south facing patio. The Malahide Yacht Club is less than 100 metres away and the Malahide Golf Club, one of Irelands oldest and finest, is less than 3 kms away. The famous Malahide castle and gardens are less than a 10 minutes walk.
No expense has been spared to create a truly luxurious property, with the best quality contemporary furnishings and fittings. The apartment has the look and feel of a 5 star city hotel, yet with the convenience and value of an apartment.
The property was totally renovated, completed in early January 2014, by Dublin's 'Out of the Blue' designers who have created a beautiful and stylish property.
The master bedroom has a king size (new January 2014) bed. Although the second bedroom is a single size room, there is a full sized singe bed that rolls out from under the bed shown in photo. Although it is possible to accommodate 4 adults we believe thr apartment is more comfortable for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. The maximum number of guests is 4, however the dining area accommodates 6 people should you to entertain in the apartment). Bed linens are a high quality thread count for your maximum comfort.
For your convenience there is Wifi and two smart TV's (one in the master bedroom); the sitting room TV is also connected to cable TV (provider is UPC). An iPad is provided for your use during your stay (not to be taken out of the apartment) loaded with apps that you will find useful including local information.
The bathroom, with underfloor heating, has a large shower room (level walk in) with good strong water pressure. There is no bath however for young children a baby bath is available. A hairdryer is provided.
The laundry area, located off the hallway, has a large capacity 9 kg washing machine and dryer, both new in January 2014.
The kitchen has a full size dishwasher, microwave, as well as new cooking appliances and a large fridge/freezer. The fine bone china dining set is by designer Paul Costelloe and a full range of wine and champagne glasses are provided for your convenience.
The apartment is perfectly positioned in Malahide with direct access from the green and minutes to the excellent shops, restaurants and pubs that Malahide is known for. The train station (Dart) is less than 5 minutes walk and the efficient train service gets you to the city (Connolly station) in approx 15 minutes to 20 minutes, departing approx every 15 minutes during peak times. The cost of a single adult ticket to the city is EUR 3.05 as at Jan 2014. Cheaper fares (EUR 2.65) is possible with a Leap Card (a smart card) which can be purchased for EUR5.00 at the local supermarket.
The front terrace and the sitting / dining room is directly south facing making the apartment exceptionally bright and sunny. There are lovely views from the front terrace across the green to the water and yachts.
Although Malahide is a very safe part of Dublin the property benefits from a nightly security guard stationed less than 50 meters from the property. In addition the apartment has a full monitored alarm system for your further peace of mind.
Parking is included for 1 car though 2 cars can be accommodated by arrangement. There is level access to the apartment from both the parking area at the back of the property, and the village at the front, making it very accessible for those who have difficulty navigating stairs. At the back of the property is an external locked storage room which can be used to store luggage, Golf Clubs or other sporting equipment.
Child friendly equipment is available including a Mothercare travel cot, a high chair/booster seat for dining, children's dining utensils and a baby bath (all new in March 2014). Please let us know the ages of your children so we can arrange age appropriate toys.

Having spent many happy weekends in Dublin having 'the craic' with family and friends we bought this apartment in the upmarket village of Malahide and has it designed to our (very high) standard. The work started in September 2013 and was finished just by New Year 2014. We wanted somewhere close to the airport, a truly Irish village, and a quick trip into the city. Malahide ticked all the boxes and more.
What we first loved about our apartment is it's position with a private entrance directly off the village green, and the fact it was south facing. Being from Australia we sun, light, and wide open spaces is important to us.
The other great thing is the area, Malahide, which is a friendly Irish village where the locals are welcoming, and because it is an 'up market' area it feels very clean and very safe. and the shops are good. I always come away with too many new shoes :)
We love walking and running (though not the distances we would like to!) and the castle and gardens area are our local track. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful place to exercise, the downside being the temptation to put back all the calories at the food hall and cafe.
If you see the photos you will also know that we love the apartment because it has been beautifully deigned and decorated, Our brief to the designer (the wonderful people at 'Out of the Blue') was to make this the standard of a luxury boutique hotel, but with the feeling of a home - and they got is exactly right.
We know that you will love it as much as we do.
The property is walking distance to everything (one minute to the Eurospar supermarket across the green, one minute in the other direction to the Yacht Marina; two minutes to lots of clothes stores, five minutes to the Dart (train station).
A truly unique feature, and one that you do not really appreciate until you get there, is the absence of the sound of cars driving past - because you are on a park, not a road. It makes for a very peaceful, restful holiday.
