Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Eskdale - Underhow
Sleeps up to 6 people and 2 dogs, with stunning views of the surrounding valley
Underhow was originally built for the general manager of the 'La'al Ratty' railway and is next to the 'Eskdale Green' station. You can watch the miniature steam train from the comfort of the cottage, as it makes its way up and down the valley.
Sleeping up to 6 people and two well-behaved dogs, Underhow has everything you could need for a family break in the Lakes. With a bedroom and bathroom downstairs, it is suited for those with low mobility. The big window in the lounge offers spectacular views, without having to leave the comfort of the real fire and comfortable sofas. There is a beautifully decorated open plan kitchen dining area; the dining table being big enough to accommodate 6 for those family home cooked meals together. The 'map room' is an added bonus, perfect for planning walks and playing board games.
The downstairs super-king bedroom can be made into a twin on request, making it ideal for different types of small groups. The family bathroom is also downstairs and there is a practical porch area that is perfect for storing wet coats and muddy boots. A utility room completes the ground floor, with washing machine and tumble dryer and space for hanging clothes.
The child friendly stairs lead to more spectacular views from the landing window, where seating is provided - not a bad place to wait for the shower! Two more bedrooms can be found upstairs, one twin and one super-king (which can also be made into twin beds), with a shower room off the landing.
There is a lawn and sitting area outside, perfect for those summer evenings and clear frosty nights. The cottage has a shed for storing any bikes or outdoor gear and a parking area for several cars.
Underhow is a cottage that the whole family can enjoy and make the most of. The stunning views and ideal location make it a perfect place for a Lakeland getaway.
